it was 230$ so half of that and i bought it at walmart so i ask apple to fix it what kind of repairing are they going to do to it well i asum that they are going to fix whats rong with it but will they change the silver part like the back of th ipod because it has scratches all over and a miny dent on the top and this repaire would cost 99$ for a 8gb ipod touch

Did you try removing and reinstalling all the Apple software using:

Yes thank god some people felt my frustration today. When I saw it said Siri on the update I was like finally. I tried finding it after the update and was so sad and ****** that it was to good to be true. With apple being so advanced and stuff this is stupid how the I pad 2 can't have it but a phone can. So stupid.

Hi, yes, I'm another unhappy iPhone 4s user who made the mistake of upgrading to iOS6, (what a way to use my first post!!)
However, I won't gripe about the very very poor maps (please Google, release an app!), but I have noticed these other 2 problems and wondered if anyone else had:
1) After using Siri with my bluetooth headset to open some apps or do some work the phone automatically locks itself, which is very annoying when I can't handle my phone! For example, my phone isn't locked, I used Siri to find out what tomorrow's weather will be like, it tells me and then 3-5 seconds later the phone locks itself and I have to enter my unlock code. Or, I opened my Sky Go app using voice control, which it did .............. before locking the phone a few seconds afterwards. Arghhh!
2) Sometimes the screen dims itself. I have to lock the phone and unlock it and it reverts to its usual brightness.
Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with iOS6 or just my usage, but the battery seems to be draining more. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if its down to me, my apps or my phone!!

I am right there with you! I have AT&T and have exchanged it etc...nothing seems to work. My iPH4 did not have these issues! Not sure what to do...besides try a new carrier.

This last week (of 17 Sep 12) I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and now my Yahoo mail does not work. I keep getting a "Yahoo server busy" message. This problem has not effected the update to my iPad 3 - it works fine. In addition, I have deleted and added my Yahoo mail - same result. Same here, albeit with a 3G and both a work Exchange account and personal Gmail are out of action. Reentered my password on the Gmail to no avail.
Unfortunately it seems that increased success has come too fast to Apple, it's starting to display Microsoft-like behaviors, e.g., releasing stuff and letting the customers serve as the beta / guinea pigs.

At least your phone comes on. After the update to io6 my phone is dead. It was fully charged before I updated. Now it won't come back on. Its completely useless. I cant even call Apple to complain!!!

I have a 4S and upgraded to iOS 6 last week without any issues.
Have you tried resetting your phone (hold the power and home buttons down together until the silver apple appears)?

What did the error message say?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I guess I will wrap this up. I have abandoned iPhoto and viewing my Photo Streams using it and moved to Adobe products (Bridge + PS). So that's that.

Strange message when I try to update my ipod with songs...

Everytime I try to update my iPod with a song, it appears in the playlist but when I unplug the iPod to listen to the song it disapears. Also I get this strange message. It says:
