Tonight opening Numbers caused a 'free update available box' advising me to install the latest version of OS X and then download the latest version of numbers. 'OK' is the only choice.
I can't force quit Numbers or even shutdown the iMac.
I don't want to lose the spreadsheet (90% completed so far) or upgrade to Yosemite.
I have OS X 10.9.5 running on a 2014 iMac.
What to do?

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard. -

Everything with firefox works ok except Grooveshark. An error message appears saying: We had problems loading flash, you might have any blocker etc etc.
I don´t have any blocker and as a matter of fact i have the latest versions for both mozilla and flash. Neither version of flash test nor reinstallation process nor checking add ons or firewall settings solved my problem.

I understand you have checked your add-ons, but in case there is an unexpected interaction, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode just to confirm that extensions are not the problem? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

My iPad mini is already on the latest version 8.1.2 and Sinc updating, Safari very often seems to cause a reboot when trying to open webpages. I've checked for updates and no others exists... Almost to the point of using a different device...
thanks for any help...It's happening to me with my Air. All this started when I foolishly installed iOS 8. It's actually worse on 8.1.2 for me. I'm about fed up with this c**p. Apple needs to stop adding "features", ie bugs, until they fix all this usability stuff. I have a lifetime of IT experience and I'd have fired anyone who released this slop.

My back and forward buttons do not work also the refresh button does not work, I have reloaded the latest version of fire fox and that did not help. All of navigation tool bar worked until I updated Fire Fox, now if I click on a link in yahoo, for instance, I can not get back to my yahoo home page without reloading Fire Fox. HELP please.

XServe G5You do not have the latest firmware. The latest firmware is version 1.5.
You should upgrade. Make sure you have a current backup and then select "update firmware" from within RAID admin. It will then ask you for the location of the firmware update -- it should be in /Application/Utilities/Xserve RAID Update. -
When I search something Firefox automatically opens a new tab with the results of this search. How do I change the settings to where the results will appear in the same tab as where I conducted the search?
Whether to open search results in new window most often is a setting of the search engine you are using.

I installed the latest version of flash player and it said installed successfully and i can use it just fine, but when I checked system requirements it didnt seem to match. it needed 2.33 ghz and I have 2.13ghz. can this cause problems to my computer? i have an intel i3 proccessor, windows 7, internet explorer.

When I try to download my pics from my camera with the iPad connection kit, I get a message saying that my device requires too much power.
What model iPad? I upgraded my mini and used the SD card lightning cable last night to transfer raw photo images without any problem.

I was just wondering as to what the latest versions of OS X (and OS X 10.4) that I can install on my iMac Power PC G4 (17-inch Flat Panel) are?
Any information would be much-appreciated, as ANYthing that would make this baby run a bit quicker (withOUT burning a massive hole in my pocket) would be a GREAT help!!! (;-D)The highest version of the Mac OS that runs on PowerPC Macs is 10.5.8. The last iteration of OS 10.4 was 10.4.11.
As 10.5 has more overhead than 10.5, I doubt it will make any speed differences and may knock speed down a notch or two. It did on a G4 tower I have with specs similar to the last of the G4 iMacs.
Things that help:
1) Max out the RAM. If you post more details about your iMac from Apple menu > About this Mac > More Info... we can see how much more RAM you model can accomodate (different G4 iMacs have different RAM specs; with modern modules, some can double the max amount of RAM the outdated Appel Specs call out).
2) See if the hard drive is getting too full. Although it varies with hard drive sides, for legacy Macs you want no less thant about 15 percent of the hard drive space free.
3) In OS 10.4, run the periodic maintenance scripts manually. Link :Running the Mac OS X maintenance scripts
If it's web video that's slow, you can't fix that. Most web developers use modern video technology that has abandoned any efforts to be optimized for pre-Intel mac processors.
