I updated my MacBook to 10.6.8 and cannot print.
Last week I updated my OS and since then haven't been able to print. My printer is a HP Oficejet Pro 8600 but I don't think that makes any difference since other people have had this issue with several different brands of printers. I've downloaded the combo pack for 10.6.8, uninstalled and reinstalled my printer software, updated my printer drivers and nothing has worked. Is there anyone who found a solution to this problem? I'm at a loss. Mahalo!

If you still have trouble load the widget.. A1
Remember TC does nothing.. it is a dumb hard disk in a router. All the smarts are on the computer with Time Machine.. that is where you need to fix things.
But the backup might not work correctly and you might need to also verify the disk of the TC and source drive.

I'm using a 15" Macbook Pro running OSX6.8 and cannot upgrade. I have a subscription to Adobe CC but none of these work on this so I was on with Adobe for 5 hours trying to install and launch Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Muse, and Acrobat Pro from CS6. Well, InDesign is the only one that works and I have a ton of work due! I don't have a serial number for Photoshop or Illustrator except for CS3, and they don't work. InDesign gave me no problems. Illustrator says it can't work on this machine. Photoshop needs a serial number. I'm stumped and getting anxious and freaked out. Can anyone help? Adobe Chat is down right now.

After updating my Macbook Pro to 6.0 and my iPhone to 10.7 I can't sync my iTunes anymore
After I updated my Macbook Pro today with 6.0 and my iphone with Itunes 10.7 my playlist don't show up and I can't sync them to my iphone.
Old playlist appeared on the iphone that I have deleted a while back but all the new stuff I can't on.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
In May 2011, I received my macbook pro. I updated it a while ago. When I tried to open iTunes it wouldn't work, so I deleted it from my computer and downloaded it again. The same thing happened with iPhoto, but I couldn't find a download for it. And now Keynote isn't working...What should I do?

Since you updated the operating system, it is probably Minecraft is missing certain files that ware remove or are not longer comparable with the new version of the OSX. what I recommend, is to check is there is an update for Minecraft and install that. If there is not update available, probably the best thing will be reinstalling Minecraft. Hope this will help you.

While trying to install new printer suggested software from HP for a 2600n Laser color... it says it is fully installed... but then will NOT print. Have retried several times... turning off both the printer and the MacBook. Same old thing... says it is downloading its big file... then same 'ol fail. Have the printer plugged into either or both USB and network cables. Have tried all I know... and have run networks and related connection points in the public schools for years.
The setup for Mac had been fairly easy with HP, Epson, Canon, etc
and there historically was a cheat-sheet or shortcut page for Mac...
Did you get the driver for your OS X version through Apple Software Update?

They have a product user forum, but I can't say I've used them; printers are too disposable.
And troubles I had with HP in recent years were a matter of buying an Epson instead.

I don't like turning my laptop off cause I use it frequently, but after I updated to mountain lion, If I close my laptop and then open it, I movethe mouse and nothing happens, then I push the power button and it won't do anything and I push it again and it takes like 2 minutes for the screen to reappear and load back to where it was. Software, as in applications, maybe. Software as in Operating System, heck no. We're now at 10.8 level, you're two levels behind. Latest iPhoto, as in v9.3.2, is part of iLife'11 and needs a minimum of Lion 10.7 to run.
Since Mountain Lion 10.8 came out, Apple has dropped support for Snow Leopard 10.7, since they only maintain the latest two versions of the OS. So you will be seeing more and more of these "unupgradeable upgrades" in the coming days. -

If your hosts file redirects requests to gs.apple.com, you may choose to follow Can't connect to the iTunes Store, in the "The 'hosts' file may be blocking the iTunes Store" section.

Try quitting all open applications, if it is still playing click GO in the menu bar and select Utilities, or SHIFT+COMMAND+U from the Finder window, then open Activity Monitor .app make sure it says All processes in the drop down and click the column says CPU see what is running, it should be using the most cpu if everything else is closed and be at or near the top of the list. Highlight it and click the quit process.
