I updated my sons IPT IOS and now no apps work download and old apps were wiped in the process.

I updated my sons IPT IOS - wiped everything and am now stuck on IOS4.21 and cannot reload any apps. Has apple abandoned the IPT2 - Help ?I notice from the forum that many new apps need 4.3 and it's not compatible with IPT2 but surely I can access older apps online. Do I have to restore and stick with old apps and no future updates.

I am facing same problem with my first iPOD Touch.
I think only that person can come to our rescue who still have old versions applications stored in any of the old backups or computers. He/she can mail us older versions of applications and then we can delete newer versions from our computer and reinstall the older versions.
There should have been a provision in Apple store to get older versions of applications. It is understood that we will not get newer versions of these applications which do not support 4.2.1 but atleast we should be entitled to get older versions of popular applications which used to work perfectly well with 4.2.1. In my case, there were many paid applications also which got updated automatically in my computer system. But, after formatting my old iPOD touch to reset its password, I was not able to install even those paid applications.
Not Happy with this policy of Apple.

After you have updated your device to version 5.1.1, have you tried resyncing everything from your iTunes yet?

IPhoto downloaded photos into an event and now they don't show up. They were deleted off the camera under the assumption they were in my library now I don't have anything. Does anyone have any useful advice?

You can recover the shots from the Card with an app like MediaRecover
As for the Library:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I deleted my download folder and now I can't download anything. I can't select the folder to "save file to" and when I select "ask me where to save files" I still can't download. it says your file will start downloading, but then it doesn't. Help!!

I deleted the folder that saves everything that is downloaded from Firefox. After that I can't download anymore. I've tried clearing my download history, reset the download folder, reset the download action by renaming the mimetype.rdfs file and it's still not working. I've tried to choose a different download folder but it doesn't let me select any folder at all. If I select "ask me where to save files" and then try and download something, the download doesn't start after I select save to. The only time it does actually download is when I select "open with...windows mediaplayer" when downloading then the download will start. Please help. Thank you.

You broke your phone by getting it wet. Nothing more to say. Bring it in to Apple for an out of warranty exchange or buy a new phone. There's really nothing else we users here can help you with.

You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user technical support forum. If you are having warranty issues with the phone, a copy of the bill is not necessary for Apple to check and evaluate the phone. If there is a manufacturer defect, they will deal with it.
What is "not working properly" on the phone. Maybe someone can help and it not be necessasry to be replaced.

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you'll take a look around, almost every 5-10 minutes someone is posting on this subject. I'm personally having the same problem. Everyone (including seniors) is saying that it's just a waiting game. The servers are overloaded, and it because there are millions of people just like us, trying to do the same thing we're doing right now.
