I updated the new update for the itouch and now crap

I updated and lost everything. It did the backup and then the update and restarted the itouch then error. I cannot even use any backups it put the normal name back in and nothing. then i restarted my comp. and ran iTunes and its updated but it wont even recognize my itouch! needless to say I'm upset I went to support and it said I had to pay for the support if I want help. As much as i spend on movies music and apps and the update was their fault why should I have to pay? anyone else have this happen or know how to get it back to where is was? thanks Deana

does anyone know how to fix this yet? help please?

That message means that you have to restore the iOS software because something went wrong. Follow the instructions here. I hope that you have a backup.

I have downloaded updates for microsoft office and now the internet wont work - any ideas?

If you want to simply do a 'fresh' install (versus wiping out all of your data and doing a 'clean' install) simply boot to your Recovery partition (hold down the Command and R keys whilst booting) and when the Recovery screen appears, elect to freshly install OS X.
Don't know that will solve your problem, though... did you do the 'automatic' update or download the update as a disk image (.dmg)? I wouldn't think that would be causing your problems...

  • I downloaded the new iOS for my ipad2 and now my apps have no sound

I have downloaded the new iOS for my ipad2 and now my apps have no sound and no system sounds

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

  • Downloaded Firefox update for my Mac and now when I open it, there is a white box at the top of the page with a grey bar in it that I can't get rid of

I updated my firefox browser for my Mac and now, when I open it, an empty white box appears at the top of the page with only a gray bar in it. It over lays the Firefox home page and I can't get rid of it, so I can't click on anything on the Firefox page. I tried deleting Firefox and redownloading it, but that didn't help. I have to force quite Firefox to get out of it. Help!

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

  • Downloaded the new iPhone update for my 4s and now I get the the "connect to iTunes" image.  When I do, it says it needs to restore factory settings.  Help!  What do I do?

I downloaded the new IOS software update today and now my 4s is stuck on the "connect to iTunes" icon on the screen.  When I connect it, it says my cell needs to be restored to factory settings.  I don't want to lose everything.  Help please!  I saw someone else had this problem so hopefully there's already a solution.  Thank you.

They will be gone from the iphone, but you should be syning all contacts to your computer regularly and should be importing all pics to your computer regularly, particularly before any update.
Have you failed to do this?

  • I was downloading the latest update for my ipad and now my ipad has the itunes icon and chord on the front but won't turn on or be found in my itunes or computer?

I was attempting to download the latest update to my ipad which was to take 2 hours so i left it alone, when I came back my ipad would not turn on, now it has the itunes icon and a plug on the front, what does this mean?  And now it can't be recognized on my computer at all?
I did a restore but nothing has happened.  How do I get it to come back on?

You'll have to restore your iPad.  With your iPad still connected to your computer, press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time and your iPad will restore.

I think I have some mismatch between glibc and the kernel now, but the question is: how do I get out of this? This installation is on a VPS and I only have remote access. In case of emergency I can just restore yesterday's backup, but first I'd like to know if there is some other solution.
    Thanks

Lol, I had the same problem just now:) System became completely unusable!
Luckily I found the old glibc package without too much trouble, and with the help of a LiveCD I manually extracted the package and put the old files back in place. All back to normal. Phew!
I'm kinda happy I didn't have to setup a Vserver for it:)
My 10 year old pc, now performing admirably as a simple router, lives on!

  • Just downloaded update for my iphone and now it wont turn back on and all it shows on the screen is the usb plug with an arrow pointed at itunes

    what do i do

Why did you disconnect it when it showed that screen? That is just one step in the update process. You need to complete the update; that is what that screen says. Just plug it in and let it finish. If it doesn't see this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

  • I did the most recent update for Apple TV and now it won't turn on.

Screen is displaying that I need to connect to iTunes. iTunes is not picking up the device.

Did you follow the instructions exactly? Disconnecting all cables, then connecting micro usb? Make sure to conect directly to the computer instead of using ports on a keyboard or USB hub.

I've had the same problem. Updated my iPhone 3GS this morning and the home button on the phone stopped working and voice control app kept popping up. Restored my phone & now it deleted everything but says it can't restore it because it's stuck in "recover mode". Please help.
