I updated to Ff4 and lost everything saved in scrapbook - can it be recovered?

I had been using the scrapbook plugin because I could not add to bookmarks. When I updated to Ff4, the scrapbook plugin was gone. I added it back but none of the previously saved info. was there - I had a lot of info. that I would like to recover. Any ideas?

Do you have the latest version of that extension installed? 1.4.3?

  • I have updated my iPad and lost everything can you please help me?

I have updated my iPad and lost everything because my only option on iTunes was to update and restore. The update was very strange because I pressed install, I had enough space for the update and I agreed to the terms and conditions. My iPad turned to a black page with a picture of connecting to iTunes, I couldn't get it off my screen even when I plugged it into iTunes. to update and restore my iPad was my only option and if I plugged my iPad out my screen would still say plug into iTunes. I haven't backed up my iPad for a few months but I need the most recent stuff on my iPad. I need my iPad for school. How do I fix this? And can Apple do anything to get it back? I am stressing out so much and I really need answers and I need them quickly. (Sorry if I sound rude but I'm freaking out about this)

You should be able to see all your Purchased Music in your iTunes Account and you can download that Music to your iPhone during a Sync.  First step look under Purchases in iTunes.

  • I upgraded my system and lost all my photos. Can they be recovered.

I upgraded my system and lost all my photos. I remember getting a message that my photos are not readable and do I want to replace. I quickly said yes without reading the message carefully. I lost all my photos. Can they be recovered?

Look in your /Home/Pictures/ folder for the iPhoto Library file. Do you have one there? Look at the modification date for it. What is the date relative to the date you did this upgrade? If you double click on the file what happens? Do you have another iPhoto Library file by chance? If so what happens if you double-click on it?

  • I just updated my ipod and lost most of my content, can I recover it?  Some one please helppp!!!, I just updated my ipod and lost most of my content, can I recover it?  Some one please helppp!!!

I just updated my ipod and realized I lost most of my contents like my address book and calender dates, also all my notes and to do's, anyway I can recover them?

I thought I'd lost my notes, too. I also have an iPad mini, and noticed the notes app icon and clicked on it. What was more obvious on the iPad was that there are different accounts; in other words, it had different sets of notes saved under different email accounts. My missing notes were saved under my icloud account, although I didn't consciously ever put the notes under any separate account. They were visible when I clicked "All Notes," too. It turns out that the phone had a different account set as the default. I changed the default on the iPhone, and there they were. I took screen shots so the notes are saved in my photos, too. This was a lot easier than checking through a lot of backups. I hope that helps. I will post this on a couple of threads I see in Apple communities. I see it's a pretty common problem. This might work on an iPod, too.

  • Updated my phone and lost everything how do I get it back?

How do I recover my contacts, songs etc.

All of your data should be backed up in your iTunes library. So just plug in your phone and sync and all the data should go right into the phone again.

  • HT4061 Did update on ipad1 and lost everything

How do I restore my iPad 1 to original settings?

Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. That will wipe the iPad completely and you will have to start all over again.

Pls help me recover my notes as I lost all my notes once I updated my IPhone 4 with IOS 7.3

  • Updated 3GS to 5.0.1 and lost EVERYTHING

    I feel sick.
I just updated my 3GS to 5.0.1 and lost everything. It went through the process of backing up before updating. However when I clicked 'Restore from backup' and went through the motions, I had no text messages, no photos, no contacts, no entries in my calender. I feel like I have lost a big chunk of my life.
What did I do wrong?! I'm pretty tech savvy and have even saved my laptop from a virus by manually removing it etc. I have previously backed up/updated and restored with no trouble.
Now I'm left with a phone with absolutely nothing on except all my apps. On one of the restores it puts my contacts on, but they're all in the wrong order, it's ordering them by second name and I can't even get that to change?
Wish I had never bothered updating! Lost a lot of setimentel texts, information and all my dates for everything and appointments are all lost.
If anyone has a clue what i can do it would be so much appreciated. I have searched for similar probalems but not found a solution :-(

If you have been using your phone as recommended, you should have minimal data loss from the inability to restore from a backup.
Contacts and calendars should be synched to a computer application like Outlook or Address Book (or a cloud service like Google Contacts or iCloud).  The update process does NOT affect these computer applications so your contacts and calendars should be safe and sound in the application ready for synching back to your phone.
Same for photos.  It is recommended that photos be imported to your computer as soon as possible after taking them (just as you would import them from any other camera) for storage, archival and safekeeping.  Again, your photos should be safe and sound on your computer.
If you've not been using your computer as recommended, you've learned a very hard lesson, I'm afraid.

  • HT204266 Updated and lost EVERYTHING! How do I get my data back??

Updated to iOS 6.1.2 and lost EVERYTHING!  Apps, files, notes, 6 months of data tracking all gone and MUST have for work.  Lost some apps that iTunes doesn't have listed anymore, nor are they showing up in my purchased apps.  Again, I need these for work!

Yeah, I tried that.  I get this dumb "supervised by another computer" message and it won't even let me connect it to the computer.

  • I had my Ipod touch 4gen on itunes of computer that crashed. On new computer i updated it, hit the wrong button, and lost everything. How do i get my old songs, apps, and account money back?

I had my ipod 4gen itunes on a computer that crashed. With the new computer I update it to the lastest version. I hit the wrong transfer button and lost everything. How do I get my old songs, apps, and money back from my old account, if thats possible?

I cant find any of my recently bought songs or the apps i have purchased. When I was updating my ipod there was a button that asked about transfering purchases and I didnt read it, and I didnt update manually so i think thats why i lost everything. I clicked on the intrustions and clicked on apps and i coulnt find any of my old stuff.

  • HT4623 Updated my iPhone 3gs yesterday (1st time ever).  Backing up content to icloud but would not quit.  Screen would not disappear.  Finally disconnected phone from computer and lost EVERYTHING.  Can I get it back?

Updated my iPhone 3gs yesterday to ios 6 (first time ever).  Backed up my content to icloud, but it wouldn't quit.  Remained on that screen for HOURS.  Finally disconnected phone from computer.  Still would not go away--just the "circle of death."  Restarted phone and lost EVERYTHING (pics, contacts and apps).  Can I get them back?  Are they somewhere out in cyberspace or lost for good?

You're not alone. I am having similar problems with my Ipod 5th gen 30gb.
When I connect it to my laptop (Vista - basic) it is not recognised by itunes. Itunes simply locks up.
So far I have tried the following to no avail:
Checked my pc's device manager - it recognises the device and says it is functioning properly.
Checked the drivers to make sure they are upt to date.
Uninstalled & reinstalled a previous version of itunes (as it worked fine before the latest release).
    Reinstalled the latest itunes.
    Reset the ipod.
Put the ipod into disk mode and reconnected to itunes.
Have tried to use the windows tool to scan and fix any bad sectors but it fails to complete a scan without locking that up as well.
Placed into disk mode when fully charged and then allowed the battery to drain completely. Then reconnected ipod (in disk mode)and it still is not recognised and locks up itunes.
At this point I dont really want to part with another $300 odd dollars for a new one.

  • HT1222 I've held back on updating to ios7 on my iPad because when I I updated my phone I lost everything and had to go to an apple store. Will this happen to iPad? Can anyone advise me please?

I've held back on updating to ios7 on my iPad because when I I updated my phone I lost everything and had to go to an apple store. Will this happen to iPad? Can anyone advise me please?

There shouldn't be any problem but, if you are worried, do a backup before the update.

  • I just did iPhone restore and lost everything...can I get it back? old iPhone

HELP!!!!! I just lost all the info on my Dad's iPhone. system restore erased everything. Since it is an unlocked phone, I don't know what to do.
My Dad has a really old version of the iPhone. It was unlocked for use with Tmobile. Because of this, he has never updated or synced anything, for fear of losing his contacts. We just bought him a new laptop for father's day, and in my effort to sync his contacts to the computer our worst nightmare happened....we lost all of his contacts. I was updating the software and without me knowing it restored the system and erased everything. Now I can't open anything - only emergency calls. iTunes says the SMS card is not supported. I had backed up right before (but not sure if the contacts were backed up). Is there any way to get it back? If so, how?
    Any help is much appreciated!

Well, erasing everything is what a restore will do. You mention that the device was unlocked and then you say that updating it gives you the message the SIM (not SMS) is not supported. This is indicative of a device that was jailbroken or hacked to be unlocked, and your updating it has locked it back to the original carrier it is locked to.
If the device was backed up, you should have a backup to restore to, however if you have locked it back to the original carrier, the only way to activate the phone again is with one of their SIM cards, or ask them if you qualify to unlocked the device. Only the carrier the device was locked to can authorize an unlock.
If the phone was jailbroken, then you cannot get any further assistance per the forum rules. Good luck.
