I updated to firefox 8 and it says java is iincompatable is there a way to make it compatable?
I have upgraded to firefox 8.0 and the java tool bar won't work is there a way to make it work?
The Java plugin that you see in "Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" is used to run Java applets.<br />
You only need the Java Console extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) if you want to check and debug Java applets.<br />
Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions.<br />
You can uninstall and remove Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.

When turning on the computer, I am advised that an update to Firefox is available and it is highly recommended that I update.
But trying to apply an update to Firefox, new window says 'connecto the update server..' but it never connects.Hello jwmoss, If there is an issue with update or permissions the better and easiest way is to download and install firefox:
1. Download a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
2. '''''Trash''''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
3. Install the version that you have downloaded.
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

I am trying to install update on phone and it says computer timing out, how do I fix that
I am trying to install update on phone and it says computer timing out, how do I fix that
For me it worked when I switched the virus protection off while doing the installation. After you run the installation you then switch the virus protection back on.
Hope it works for you too! -
I'm trying to update iOS 7 and it says I need 3.4 GB of storage to update.. I currently have on my storage 797 MB and 12,6 GB used. How much storage should it write for me to be able to update?
If your ipad has only 797 MB free and it tells you that you need 3.4 GB to update, then you need to begin deleing files, whatever it takes to free up space.
Consider...
Delete apps you don't use.
Delete videos you don't want (these take up a lot of space).
Do you have a lot of emails stored on the device?
Are there apps that store data files, like a PDF reader? If there are a lot of these, you need to delete some.
The bottom line is that you need to remove data and/or apps on your device to make more storage available.
But for videos and photos, always sync them to a computer first to archive them. -
Downloaded update for Firefox and now I can't get rid of AOL.
Downloaded update for Firefox and now I can't get rid of AOL. I have tried to delete anything associated with AOL and when restart Firefox.....there's AOL again. I even reinstalled Firefox.......there it was again.
Where does AOL show up -- home page?
I think the first thing to check is whether you have any AOL-related add-ons. These might override your regular settings. You can review and disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Note that in most cases, you need to use the Restart Firefox link to actually deactivate the extension you chose to disable.
Next, to fix your home page, try the steps in this article: [[How to set the home page]].
If there is a problem with your search providers being switched from Google to AOL, try this extension:

Any improvement? -

i have a macbook circa 2007 and am trying to update my software and it says its up to date but it only has mac os x 10.5.8. please help?
The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
Snow Leopard Tech Specs
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so Contact Apple in your Country to Purchase a Snow Leopard Disc...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
In the US...
1-800-MY-APPLE or 1-800-676-2775
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading... -
