I updated to Yosemite and now I can't restart my macbook air
since the update i found that my macbook started lagging a lot more than it used to, but now it can't even be restarted or switched off. Everything disappears except the icons at the bottom of the screen and then nothing happens. Pressing the switch off button for 3-4 seconds helps. but i don't want to turn off my mac this way. Does anyone have such an issue with yosemite?

I updated to Yosemite and now I can't open my YNAB finance app. There is a question mark in the Dock where the App should be and when I hover over the question mark it does say YNAB but I can't open it. When I double click on the question mark nothing happens. Has the link to YNAB been broken with the update? Has this happened to anyone else?
Check the Application folder.
If it is not there, contact YNAB Finance for a OS X Yosemite compatible version of the application.

I can confirm the problem you are hitting. The XML test trace does not get recognized at all, and it defaults to Eclipse's basic Open File behaviour. I am not sure if it's because the format definition is missing, or if it's because something prevents the trace type from being recognized. I will open a bug about it.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. I was merely trying to take a document I had worked on and open it in pages, but it said my version was too old. When I updated, it wouldn't load. Now I cannot do anything. It is known that there are CS4/Yosemite issues.
For your issue, you may try to save your TIFF as a Photoshop .eps file and import that.
Or a rollback to Mavericks. -

Any suggestions?You should check with Adobe, but it's likely they'll say that Photoshop CS5 isn't supported on Yosemite and they'll recommend you update to a new CC version, which of course requires a subscription.
It could be that Photoshop requires a Java installation (and probably an old one), that isn't running on Yosemite by default. Java 6 is not "new," it's in fact very old. I do think you can download Java 6 from Apple - check apple.com/support/downloads. -

I think the first thing to check is whether you have any AOL-related add-ons. These might override your regular settings. You can review and disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions here:

Just take a look at the last few days posts here and you'll see many people with the same problem and some possible solutions.
But you should never do any software updates unless you have a bootable backup of your startup drive. FCP7 is no longer being supported by apple and updating anything is fraught with dangers. -
