I upgraded from 3.6.13 to Beta 4.0 and now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing.

I uninstalled Beta 4 and re-installed 3.6.13 now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing, I have been using Firefox for a long time but cannot resolve this problem can anyone help and give me a solution please. As I use Firefox as my web browser it is very frustrating.
The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 and now Logic wont open at all!

Upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 and now Logic wont open at all! Im using Logic 7.1 Everything was fine till I upgraded.... Now when I click to open Logic it never gets past the startupscreen, and then I get a message saying "Logic has unuexpectedly quit" and I get an option to either close it or restart it or report it to apple, whatever option I choose freezes Logic and I have to right click it in the dock to end the program because it is not responding. Any help is really appreciated! I have wirk I need to get done! (teaches me to upgrade in the middle of a project... what a rookie mistake!)

I installed an update of firefox this morning and now it won't open. I have tried to remove it and re-install it and although the icon remains, nothing happens when I click on it.

I was prompted to install an update this morning which I did. After that, Firefox will not open at all. I click the icon and nothing happens. I tried uninstalling it and then re-installing it with no results.

Just upgraded from a 1998 G3 to a Mac Pro and my WP docs wont open

How can I open my Apple Claris word documents when the Mac Pro doesn't support classic. Thats 10 years work that I cant open. Some doc were created in OS 9 and others in early OS 10.2

As has already been mentioned you need a Mac OS X version of Appleworks to open these documents. Appleworks version 6.2.9 is what you need.
http://www.dataviz.com/ makes Appleworks and Clarisworks word processing and spreadsheet translators for more current Mac OS X word processing and spreadsheet applications in their Maclinkplus package.
http://www.apple.com/iwork/ will open more recent Appleworks 6 word and spreadsheet documents.
http://www.lemkesoft.com/ 's GraphicConverter will open TIFF and PICT saved images.
http://www.eazydraw.com/ will open draw documents from Appleworks.
http://www.filemaker.com/ will open various command and tab delimited saved database files, but you will have to create new forms and layouts for them.
You may find someone at a local http://www.apple.com/usergroups/ who has an older Mac with Appleworks to assist you with the conversion to upgrade later if you no longer have the older Mac, or if you have no means of getting Appleworks 6.2.9.

Upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.7 and now need "updated" iDVD to make movie?!

Story is- imported my clips (on top of which they were muxed and had to be converted! Darn Sony!), edited them and decided to do without iDVD chapers and go straight to "Create iDVD Project".
Won't work- message reads "Compatible version of iDVD required. This feature requires iDVD versions 3.0 or later. Please blah, blah, blah."
Now- last I checked you got both iMovie AND iDVD in the same package and I am not sure why my Tiger upgrade has left me up the creek without a paddle.
iMovie pans out to be version 4.0.1 and lo and behold there is NO application iDVD at all on my poor bemused G4 PB!!!!
What did I do wrong (if anything) and what do I need to do right to fix this?

Sorry it took a couple of days to get back here. Life is a bit hectic. Erm- thanks for that! I have not yet made a iDVD move so will bear what you say about the extra and unneccessary rendering in mind.
I never got the iLife CDs (PB is pre-iLife CDs) so will search on the install CDs. Seems mightily daft to me... Question- seeing as I got Panther with the Powerbook (specifically OS10.3.5) and then bought a single upgrade CD for Tiger which I only just installed (and which is the reason why this is happening I think) what is going on? Did the Tiger install sort of "remove" my earlier version of iDVD?
OK- on the Sony- it is a still camera's short footage which shows up as muxed. So it is not a DV import but a QT .MPEG file which was dragged off the memory stick. Not to worry- I found MPEG Streamclip to be an ace bit of kit and so simple to use.

I upgraded to 10.0.1 on my macbook pro and now I can only open a single window -- what happened?

Since upgrading to 10.0.1 I have not been able to open more than one window in firefox. If i have a window already open going to "open" does nothing. This is extremely frustrating. I'm using a macbook pro.
I remember this happening some time ago and the fix involved setting an option somewhere ...

It's been so long since I bought my macbook pro in August of 2010, but I do remember the iwork disk that had pages, numbers, and keynote on it, but I can't find the disk in my closet. I did not realize that when I took my computer in to the genius bar to upgrade to Snow Leopard, and then to download Yosemite, that I would lose these applications. I had no reason to open pages when I emptied my hard drive to upgrade to Snow Leopard, so I don't know if I kept iwork when I upgraded to Snow Leopard at the Genius Bar. I had file vault on with my external drive on, and since removed it before the upgrade, but now all my documents are unable to open on my external drive. ****. So now the new problem is how do I undo file vault in a new OS 10.10 when encoded in 6.8? Can I take my external drive in to Genius Bar?
I bought my macbook pro at Best Buy, but can't remember if iwork came with this computer, or with an older mac I bought. Can anyone check to see if I have a valid key code, and will insertion of an iwork disc allow me to use pages with Yosmite?

My Firefox window browser does not open at all. Tried everything. No window at all.

A few days back now, a message kept appearing that certificate had expired as 31/5/2011. I just cancelled that and went on to use the browser, Now the browser will not load any page at all.

I upgraded from an iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 and now iMessage isn't working

Thank you trying those steps out. i want to you to review a few things on the phone. Is you Cellular data turn on? Settings>Cellular Data should be green When you access "Messages" in settings, are you able to turn '"iMessage" on and off? Provide us more details to resolve this today.

Your HD may be damaged, simply restart in the Recovery Patition (hold down Option key on start up tone and choose Recovery) then open Disk Utility, choose the internal HD and run Repair Disk, if any errors appear after the 2nd or third pass your HD is probably damaged and needs to be repaired.

I opened original iPhoto Library (from iMac 10.8.5) on new MBP and now it won't open on iMac

As my main computer I use an iMac which is not yet updated to Mavericks and I'd rather not update for now. I recently bought a MBP retina which has Mavericks on it.
Whilst I was using the shared network to copy over some files to my new macbook I opening the iPhoto library off my iMac onto my MBP. Everything worked fine. However when I tried to open that library on my iMac it doesn't work. I just get a pop up saying:
The library “iPhoto Library” cannot be opened.
To open it, you must upgrade to the latest version of iPhoto.
Quit
I've tried updating but of course I cannot. I can't even double check what version of iPhoto I am running as everything is greyed out. When I go to the app store and click update I get:
Download an older version of this app?
The current version requires OS X 10.9 or later, but you can download the last compatible version.
When I download the older version it doesn't do anything unfortunately. Is there a way to get my iphoto library back on my iMac as there's a LOT of images on there that I need.

You will need to restore your iPhoto Library from a back up of your iMac prior to when you opened it on your new MBP Retina.
The iPhoto app for OS X Mavericks upgrades the iPhoto Library DB and you can't go back. There should have been a message displayed when you first tried opening it from your MBP Retina warning you that the libary will be upgraded.
So, as long as you have a back up of the library prior to opening it with an OS X Mavericks Mac, you can continue using it with your iMac running OS X Mountain Lion. What this means is, until you upgrade your iMac to OS X Mavericks and the newer version of iPhoto, you will have to maintain 2 iPhoto Libraries and not share it.

I downloaded a Firefox security update and now Firefox won't open. From what I can understand my firewall is most likely blocking Firefox now as it doesn't trust it. I have NO idea what to do next, what firewall I am using or even how to find out. HELP!

You can dispute any charges by doing an Arbitration or Mediation. I have never done it, so I can not help much there but this all may get you started.

I got of some cookies and now firefox can't open my web-mail from Medscape. I get "the page isn't redirecting properly" ..

This problem started right after I deleted lots of cookies, trying to avoid the ad people from getting too much information. My email is from pol.net (from Medscape). I made sure my Privacy settings accept cookies. The problem also occurs in Firefox Safe mode. I even restored the Firefox applications (I have a macBook Pro laptop) from my external hard drive using Time Machine from a backup I did 2 days before I deleted cookies -- NO change, even though checking to see what cookies are on the system appear to show that all the deleted cookies were restored !! My Medscape people CAN access my mail from Firefox---I can't from my bookmarks or URL window using Firefox. The rest of my bookmarks seem to be unaffected. I CAN access my mail from Safari. Please help.

I work for a computer repair shop. I am not a tech, none of them are in today due to unforseen circumstances. A client called, she had her OS upgraded to Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6?) on her (white) Macbook and now her iTunes wont open at all. She said she tried opening it multilple ways, but when she clicks on it in the the dock it doesn't do anything. She thinks she has the right version. Any ideas?

Reinstall 10.6 again, but this time hold c boot off the 10.6 and erase the ENTIRE internal drive.
You do this by selecting the drive makers name and size on the left hand side, not the slightly indented partition underneath it.
If you erase and install 10.6 only into a parittion, say Macintosh HD, the you still have the hidden Lion Recovery Partition on the drive and it appears you already have 10.7
In the MAS, hold option and click Purchases to redownload Lion
FYI, you don't need to install 10.6 to reinstall 10.7, 10.7 can be reinstalled via the Lion Recovery, Command r boot.
