I upgraded my 2nd generation Itouch and it now it does not work properly

is there anything that can be done with this device or are we being forced to make it garbage?????  I have been a faithful Apple customer for many many years.  This is the first device that has failed me.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Cables, Jumpers and wow, now it does not work.

    I am new to Mac's. I decide to swap CompaQ DVD/CD GD2000 from a 350Hz G4,to a 450Hz which had factory DVD/CD GD7000. I master the jumper on the GD2000 installed it and tried a DVD in it. The light came on (DVD/CD) and it just spun and spun and spun... I tried ot reload the DVD same thing happen. Then tried to shut down with the mouse it, BeachBall and locked up.If left spining the Start button on the front of G4 starting flashing and the screen when dark. I Hit the start button and it quickly gave me the screen back, but locked up. Checked cables and jumper (mastered). Rebooted, brought the DVD Player, clicked the eject button to load the DVD and it said something like "this device is not right for this function. I tried an audio cd and it just spun and spun, ITUNEs did not come up. I am New,Dumb and Confused.

    I'd be surprised if there was native support for a Compaq drive under OS X. Unsupported drives can usually be used once you apply PatchBurn <http://www.patchburn.de>

    What are you trying to accomplish?  You might be misinterpretting what the event.localX/Y properties represent.  event.localX and event.localY do not necessarily provide the x and y position of mouse in the stage (which you probably thought from the answer you accepted in another posting you have)
    Try this code (with your box object still around) and you should get the correct idea of what event.localX/Y is providing... Click on the empty stage area as well as the box object.

    From that you should see that event.localX/Y are relative to the object where the event occurs, not the stage.
    So for your code you are probably seeing the box acting erratically, moving from following the cursor to jumping to some distant corner of the stage (depends on the box size and where it axis lies).  That's because the localX is switching between the stage and the box coordinate system as you continuously move the box to and from the cursor location.

    If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

    In most scenarios you shouldn't need to forward ports, however if you need to, you may be best contacting your ISP.
    As with most router issues, I would recommend that you contact your ISP with details of your problem (assuming that it was your ISP that provided it to you).
    There are simply too many manufacturers with different software features and settings and often different names for such features and settings, that the best advice will likely come from those that are knowledgeable about your particular router.

    There is a world of information in these forums if you use the search function near the top right of this page. Just type in NAS for example and you get many threads on the subject (marked with a green checkmark if it solved the question) another example would be Airport Exterme and sound system. Once you formulate your ideas better then specific questions can be addressed one at a time. You may find that a less expensive choice for a server might be a mac mini. Good luck with your project, ask more specific questions and update you systems profile.

    I have just upgraded to Lion and now my VPN connection does not work properly.  It was working fine when I was using Leopard.  The VPN is My Private Network and we use it to link to BBC iPlayer when abroad.  It will actually connect to the VPN site and shows a UK IP address, but then when we try to load an iPlayer programme we get the message from the BBC that we are not in the country and, therefore, cannot access the site.  Any suggestions?

    Did you check your security software (firewall)?
    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

    Try a hard reset and go from there. You might try a manual install (using DFU Mode), as outlined in the link below.

    I upgraded from leopard to lion and my Epson printer will not work. I get a error message comunication error. What can Ido to fix this I bought a new USB cord and it did no good.

    I suddenly had the same thing happen. I've had my new iMac for 3 months and at first my Epson Artisan 50 worked okay then yesterday I started getting the same error message other people on this support site have gotten. I tried ALL the advice given (deleating the Epson files from the library folder, etc. reinstalling older software) and nothing worked. With the newest iMac (and operating system) you cannot pick and choose which version of Epson software you want. You must use the 10.8 version or it simply will not open when you've downloaded it. Finally I found the comment above by den.thed and tried the OS X Mountain Lion: Reset the printing system suggested. As much as I hated to lose all my printing presets that took a lot of expiermentation to set up, I was desperate. I tried it and it worked. Now I just have to consult my old computer and try to recreate all my printing set ups.  So to others with Epson / Apple 10.8 issues this may help when everything else fails. Thanks den.thed for your advice.

    My pinned tabs don't appear at any start and at some starts, I don't see the bookmarks toolbar (I can restore that by removing it from view-toolbars and then reselecting it). when this happens, FF also does not show any tabs and the Menu button does not work.
    I have tried various suggestions found on here like deleting the sessionstore.js and re-installing FF, also tried disabling hardware acceleration in safe mode and still have the same problems.
    Am reluctant to reset FF in case I lose my favourites and Bookmarks, is there anything else I can try?

    Firefox may not have closed properly.<br />
    You can try to update to Firefox 29.0.1 to be released tomorrow (Friday) to see if that helps with this issue.

    Just upgraded iPad2 to iOS5. Music app does not work properly. When I select a song to play, it plays a different song. Sometimes, it just stops playing songs, other times, it shuffles songs.
    Not sure whats going on.
    Worked fine using iOS4.3.5.
    Synced the iPad to iCloud. enabled mail. It shows under settings that the iCloud mail is setup, but the mail does not appear in the mail app. Not sure whats happening with these functions on iOS5.
