This is an error reported by the optical drive's firmware. The tracking servo is the servomechanism which guides the laser pickup along the track on the optical disc. The error means that the servo couldn't do its job within the programmed parameters. What it doesn't say is why.
You have to be very precise as to when this error occurs. If it occurs as you wrote, while it "starts preparing to write the disc", and not when it has actually began to burn, then it's likely that the drive has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
There are other possibilities, so you should check them, but they would be more likely if the error occurred after the drive began to write. OrangeMarlin has suggested two options -- try a different brand of CD or DVD, and try cleaning the lens. -

What is the status of the songs on the iPod? Is there an icon by them? Are the grayed out? -
I recently upgraded to Mavericks and now don't have access to iphoto. I cannot find my iphoto library to back the photos up before upgrading the iphoto but see the photos when I try to change screensaver? Where are my photos so I can back them up?
The iPhoto library should be in your user folder/Pictures unless it was moved.

verify same on another Mac, its likely a dead SATA card inside the external enclosure.
One assumes you arent referring to a 2012 Air with a Toshiba SSD, since the Air contains no hard drives, only a SSD.
2013 Air use Sandisk or Samsung SSD. -

Are you using the Search box located at the top right corner of Firefox or the actual Google homepage?
I see that you have a user.js file currently active in Firefox. It's only there if you or a 3rd party program created it otherwise it's not normally there.
You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release. You can get to the profile folder below:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Show Folder
or
*Go to '''about:support''' and click Show Folder next to Profile Directory. -
Help!!! ISO5 installed and now my itunes store/sync won't work
Hi, a few days ago i installed the iso5 update, eversince then i have not been able to access the itunes store. When i plug my ipod in it says 'backing up', it regognised my ipod but so does computer to open files which usually doesn't happen. When i plug my ipod out it still says 'backing up' and itunes is impossible to use, my ipod still works fine. I have checked that i have the most up to date itunes 10.5. I have unintalled and reinstalled itunes 3 times. The second time last night it worked and I synced my ipod, then today by ipod started 'backing up' and now I can't do anything. Can anyone help, is there anyway just to revert back to IOS4, everything worked fine and I was happy, i dont need or want the up date, i found the apple page with the last IOS software but it says the download is avalible on itunes which i can access.
Has anyone had the same problems? and if so how have you solved them?
ThanksI updated iTunes to v10.5 and then plugged my iPOD Touch 4 (32GB), which invited me to update from iOS4 to iOS5. The download trundled on for about an hour (as they do!), but during the download, or installation (I can't remember) which a flag appeared with 'Rescuing' or a similar phrase, and carried on downloadin. The download appeared to finish OK and then the sync cycle began. All my Apps, contacts etc synced OK, but the iTunes syc stopped after only a small fraction of my tunes were synced. A message came up 'sync canceled'. I have tried changing from 'sync' all tunes in Library to selected Playlists, but no joy. All the songs appear to be on the iPOD, but only those in bold play. The rest are in pale script and don't play. I was going to delete all my tunes from the iPOD and readd fron my iTunes library from scratch, but I don't know how to do that. Perhaps upgrading both iTunes & iPOD consecutively was pushing it!

I cancelled my Creative Cloud and now my Production Premium CS6 won't work!
When I cancelled the Creative Cloud membership by phone, I informed the Adobe rep that I intended to use our Production Premium CS6 suite instead (which we have had longer than CC. Now I can't open anything in my CS6 suite. It's treating it as if it was installed with CC - which it was not. They both have the same login email address.
You can try signing with different Adobe ID .
or if you wish to sign in using same email ID , try and follow below steps :
Windows:
Press Windows button (located between Ctrl and Alt buttons) along with R button together at a time , you will get a run command window.
Type in below command and hit 'Enter' key.

Then navigate to Local>Adobe>OOBE. Open OOBE folder and delete opm.db file.
Mac:
1) Right click on Finder icon and select "Go-To" Folder option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.( Do not miss ~ symbol)

3)Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe>OOBE. Open OOBE folder and delete opm.db file.
Then try to activate Production Premium.
Still face same issue , try clearing SLCache Contents.
In Windows , first enable Hidden Files and folders view, because most of the files will be hidden by default.
Open C:drive and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe.
Open Adobe folder and locate SLCache folder and move all its contents to backup folder on Desktop . make sure SLCache is empty .
Then try to activate Production Premium.
Mac :
1) Right click on Finder icon and select "Go-To" Folder option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.

3)Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe.
Under Adobe folder
locate SLCache folder and move all its contents to backup folder on Desktop . make sure SLCache is empty .
Then try to activate Production Premium.
If the subscription is not completely removed , sometimes it will still recognize Cancelled CC subscription and prompts error .
You can check by signing in with different Adobe ID. -
It won't work. It was working at first when I updated but then after like 2 hours it wouldn't work. I rebooted it and THEN it wouldn't work. I would sign in to set it up, pick an email I wanted to use, but then it would take me back to the sign in screen with no explination. I'm getting really annoyed. I NEEED IMESSAGE. HELP

I upgraded to version 5 and now cant open firefox due to error message about script
When I try and open version 5 I get this message " A script on this page may be busy or may have stopped responding, you can stop the script now or you can continue to see if the script will complete"
