I use DW 2004, will this make my webpages obsolete?

I have Dreamweaver MX 2004, and i was wondering whether there has been so many changes to the w3c, HTML and the way search engines work that my webpages will be somehow obsolete. They wont show up in search results as well as if i had the newest version of Dreamweaver.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We're called ACPs these days. It stands for Adobe Community Professional. There was a suggestion that we should be called Adobe Professional Experts, but some people didn't like the idea of being called an APE.
Yeah, I can't keep up with all the changes these days, its not something that weighs big on my mind. I seem to remember TMM for some reason (maybe a golden era). I have no idea what it stands for though.

As far as going to ground as a program nears completion, nothing could be further from the truth. Most beta testing takes place many months before a program is released. Also, being an ACP doesn't guarantee membership of the beta testing team.
I have no idea when CS5 will be released. Adobe never reveals that information to anyone until it's ready to tell everyone. I'll probably find out at the same time as you.
I've noticed patterns emerging over several years. The release will be in the next few weeks. I've got inside information that its going to be a limited edition version aimed at the amateur market which is only compatible with the following computers:
1) Amstrad CPC464
2) Spectrum ZX
3) Commodore 64

In this I wanted to change the email address in icloud so that I no longer get his emails from his contacts, friends, etc.  I made an alias but is there anyway to delete this icloud email address and use another or will this delete all of our data?
New at this icloud and its real cool but afraid to lose all my information.

Deleting the account from the phone will do only that! it won't affect any other information on any other device.

after making the photo slide show, i clicked share>export movie.  after which i burned using toast. the file became a .mov.  i tried playing it in my mac and it worked. my fear now is will it also play in a regular dvd?... i read from google that mov files won't run in dvd players.  what format should i convert it to so it'll play in a dvd player.  can you suggest a faster way i can burn my projects for it takes me almost an hour to export.  im going to make 28 slideshows for my kids in school. *=( if i need to do this process 28 times, i may not be able to finish it on time.  please suggest a software or an alternative as to how i should do this... m more comfortable using imovie than iphoto.  thanks and i hope to hear from someone soon *=j

Thank you QuickTimeKirk...used toast to burn project... my project was in .mov, i tried to play it a dvd player, it did play... will try again tomorrow using another dvd player just to be sure it'll will really work with dvd players.  thank you again for your reply *=)

  • When I run multiple Microsoft powerpoint files at a time on my MacBook Air, it simply gets hotter and generates little noise (most probably fan noise). Will this make any effect on life span of MBAir??

When I run multiple Microsoft powerpoint files at a time on my MacBook Air, it simply gets hotter and generates little noise (most probably fan noise). Will this make any effect on life span of MBAir??

    Theoretically, yes.
Heat, and heat cycling certainly do take a toll on even solid state components. I have several "very old" Macintosh computers, and the logic boards exhibit the effects.
The fan too, running at higher speeds, does eventually cause wear. More than anything, the higher airflow leads to a higher propensity for dust accumulation on the fan, and the heat exchangers.
In practical terms though, maybe not so much. If you plan on having your computer exhibit a reasonable useful life before you retire it or upgrade, you may never experience any of the detrimental effects. I rarely use a computer longer than 3 years, before I sell, give it away, or just stop using it.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Your computer is well designed to give you a long life, even in the manner in which you describe. Take care of it, but use it for what you bought it for. Nothing you mention is in any way, abuse.

Simply enabling iTunes Match will not "clear room on the hard drive." You will have to delete the tracks from iTunes manually. But you should read this first: FAQ: Why iTunes Match Can Not Be Used as a Backup.

Right! Our regular power bricks cover the gamut of 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz that will take care of everything save, say, a failing portable generator chugging in the tip of the Alps...
And you can drink the Apple koolaid and purchase the Official $40 Apple Adapter Kit ( http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB974ZM/B?fnode=MTY1NDEwMQ ) that will look chic and color matched to your brick, or do as Kappy says and get a regular equivalent from the nearest Radio Shack

  • Should I disable wi-fi when not using it ? Will this preserve the Battery?

When I`m at home, should I disable the wi-fi when not using the internet ? Does this preserve the battery?

    http://ipod.about.com/od/iphone3g/tp/iphone-battery-life.htm
#5 on the list to preserve battery:
    Keep Wi-Fi Off
The other kind of high-speed network that the iPhone can connect to is Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is even faster than 3G, though it’s only available where there’s a hotspot (not virtually everywhere like 3G). Keeping Wi-Fi turned on at all times in hopes that an open hotspot will appear is a sure way to drain your battery life. So, unless you’re using it right this second, keep Wi-Fi turned off.
Find it in Settings -> WiFi -> Slide to Off

  • Using itunes backup, will this save progress in game apps

I have an ipod touch 4th gen.  When I backup with iTunes on my PC, will it save app data, like game progress?
Or if I have to restore the backup, will I be starting over in all my games?

Game progress and other app data is saved in the backup. If you backup the device and then later restore that backup you should have your game state restored.
It is worth nothing that typically there is a single rolling backup per device. If you want to preseve snapshots of your device for recovering from a problem that you're not initially aware of then it may be good practice to backup and immediately restore say once a month. Restored backups are archived and a new rolling backup is created. You can delete older backups when you want to reclaim space.
Note also that if you remove an app and backup the device then the backup of the app's state is also deleted.
Some games/apps allow for game progress/data to be saved in the cloud associated with your Apple ID.

  • Will Leopard make my G5 obsolete?

I've been thinking of upgrading my G5 with faster and bigger hard drives and the x1900 video card. Overall, I've been pretty happy with it's performance (with the exception of Aperture, which relies heavily on the GPU).
However, I'm concerned about spending money upgrading my G5 when yet another major OS update is due out soon. I'm guessing Leopard will be even further optimized for Intel chips and us G5 owners will be left in the dust.
Upgrading the G5 will cost me about $700, but moving to a similarly configured MacPro will cost me $2000 (and that's assuming I'll be able to sell my G5 for a decent price). Is the $1300 difference worth it?

Good point. It's true that I've been mostly happy with my G5, with the exception of Aperture and to a lesser degree Photoshop.
But if I got a couple of fast hard drives in a RAID 0 configuration, upgraded the GPU to the x1900, and perhaps added another 2 GB of RAM (much cheaper on the G5) my complaints could very well disappear.
The hard drives I would need anyways, so I guess the only "non-recoverable" investment would be the x1900 and RAM.
The other reason for wanting to upgrade now, though, was concern that if I wait two years the resale value for my G5 will be next to nothing. At present I can still get $1500 for it - according to eBay and Craigslist. That significantly lessens the financial pain of a new MacPro... but if I wait two years, I may not have that option.

Do I need to point iPhoto to this new location?
    Thanks!

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
    Assuming a Managed Library:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

    Forget the Pendrive stategy...
Before attempting any Major Upgrade... get yourself an External Hard Drive... and create a Bootable Clone Backup of your current Hard Drive...
By far the easiest way to make such a Backup, is to use something like
    SuperDuper  http://www.shirt-pocket.com/
    or CCC  http://www.bombich.com/
That way, should anything untoward happen during the Upgrade,
    you will NOT LOSE ANYTHING.
(Get an EHD that is at least equal to your current Drive...)
Also, Check here for compatibility of 3rd party Software you may be using...
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
You should also consider more RAM... Get the Maximum you can for your Mac...
It is important to get the Correct and Matching RAM

  • Using massive as plug-in and my xio synth  hope this makes sense?

Ok I recorded a sound from my xio synth onto a track. after that I opened a new track under the one I just recored on. on the new track I wanted to use my xio as a midi control for my plug-in called massive. Now the sound on the first track I recorded switched to the sound I was trying to use for my plug-in I hope this makes sense?

Nope, does not make too much sense...but I'll take a crack at it.
    1. Track 1, is it MIDI? Yes....well probably. I can't see your screen, so I will ***-ume it is.
2.Track 2, is it MIDI? Yes...again with the ***-umption.
You need to make SURE track 2 in the arrange page is ACTUALLY Midi track 2. Right now I think you have two "Midi track 1" on the arrange page. ie you have two trakcs which are referencing the same Midi channel.
In Logic when you create a new track in the arrange page, you have three options:
    1. make a new track with the NEXT instrument.
    2. make a new track that is the SAME instrument.
    3. and from the menu, you can choos what type of track to create as well.
    I hope this helps,
    Cheers

want to buy airport extreme, am using mountain lion.  Will this work ?  also,  my house is 5,500 square feet all on one floor.  Do I need an extender and which one?

...  If I purchase an express to extend is it hard to configure as an extender?
No, AirPort Utility prompts you with step-by-step questions and makes configuration simple.
The Express and Extreme have the same transmitter power specifications, so I suggest the $99 Express as an extender, should you need one. Beware that you cannot add a second Express to wirelessly extend the network any further - as the following excerpt from Extending the range of your wireless network by adding additional Wi-Fi base stations explains:
    Extended network range considerations
In the above example the primary Wi-Fi base station ➊ is out of wireless range of the extended Wi-Fi base station ➋, therefore the extended Wi-Fi base station cannot join or extend the wireless network. The extended Wi-Fi base station must be moved to a location that is within Wi-Fi range of the primary Wi-Fi base station.
    Important Note
If another extended Wi-Fi base station ➋ is placed between the primary Wi-Fi base station ➊ and the extended Wi-Fi base station ➌, the extended Wi-Fi base station ➌ will not allow clients to join it. All extended Wi-Fi base stations must be in direct range of the primary Wi-Fi base station.
A "roaming network" that Bob described, in which all base stations are connected with an Ethernet cable, is by far the best alternative.

  • HT4757 Will this software make my Canon Powershot A700 work with os x 10.8.2 and iPhoto 11 v. 9.4.1?  Is there any way to get my camera compatible with this computer?

Will this software make my Canon Powershot A700 work with os x 10.8.2 and iPhoto 11 v. 9.4.1?  Is there any way to get my camera compatible with this computer?

    First Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If that doesn't help apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

my iPhone 5 couldn't activation (i can use it before, but i make some mistake), help me how to activation my iPhone again, i don't know who is first hand my iPhone 5

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.
