• I got of some cookies and now firefox can't open my web-mail from Medscape. I get "the page isn't redirecting properly" ..

This problem started right after I deleted lots of cookies, trying to avoid the ad people from getting too much information. My email is from pol.net (from Medscape). I made sure my Privacy settings accept cookies. The problem also occurs in Firefox Safe mode. I even restored the Firefox applications (I have a macBook Pro laptop) from my external hard drive using Time Machine from a backup I did 2 days before I deleted cookies -- NO change, even though checking to see what cookies are on the system appear to show that all the deleted cookies were restored !! My Medscape people CAN access my mail from Firefox---I can't from my bookmarks or URL window using Firefox. The rest of my bookmarks seem to be unaffected. I CAN access my mail from Safari. Please help.

Did you check the cookie exceptions ([http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox > Preferences] > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions") ?

Can't load Netflix - Firefox says something about cookie problem and recommends try again button. ("The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.)" Hit the try again button repeated ly - nothing???

I decided to give Netflix a call about this problem.
On a recording while waiting for a support rep, it said if you're having problems logging in to go to:
http://www.netflix.com/clearcookies
It works for me. Now I have to logon everytime I go to their site though versus it had kept me already logged in before this problem.
I will be using that link to get to their site until they get it fixed.

• Help with Managing sub accounts and The page isn't redirecting properly

Anytime I try to make a new sub account, and I click on "Sub Accounts" I get this error:

Before you ask, I'm a bit of a PC geek, I tried in both FF and IE8, same result, checked cookie settings, and they are NOT disabled etc.
Any ideas?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Cookies are normal. The only exceptions are for SU.
I found a way to manage the sub accounts. Through Yahoo. Which is completely asinine. Why do I have to go to Yahoo's page when IT'S RIGHT IN MY VERIZON!?
I wish I could "unbrand" my dsl service.

• Since I upgraded to FF 4, I can no longer access our agency's Intranet. I get the error, "The page isn't redirecting properly" Microsoft's Internet Explorer works. How do I get into our agency's Intranet using Firefox?

The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Out Tech Support person, thought it had something to do with FF4 adding things to the address that do not belong. It is an in-house address with just a URL number.

• I can't enter gmail. The error 'The page isn't redirecting properly' shows up. I can access gmail on my phone and with IE, but not firefox.

I've tried to clear the cache and delete the cookies from gmail, but neither has worked. I can access gmail from my phone and through IE but not firefox. I also use the gmail gadget on my igoogle page and it does not work either.

Top of your browser click on Firefox, select Options
Select "Use Custom Setting for History"
Then click show cookies, then remove All Cookies
Close browser and restart, should work nicely
Simple fix (cause of the problem, since you select copy Cookies and History, Favs from Explorer they are clearly not compatible, so that is why you get the error)
Firefox guys need to fix this is serious challenge for new users.

• Cannot access YouTube. Error message: The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

I accessed YouTube briefly, but as soon as I linked my YouTube account to my Google account (now required by YouTube), I got that message.

Hey, I have an easier solution. No need to wipe all of your cookies or restart firefox:
Go to Tools > Options, select the Privacy Tab, then click on the link to "remove individual cookies".
In the window that comes up, type youtube into the Search box at the top, and then remove all of the cookies that are displayed.
Now when you visit youtube.com you'll be signed out of your account, and you can sign back in without getting the redirect error.

Try following the steps in this article, and try to go about restoring your iPod again. See if you can't get it to work...

• Calendar in gmail now refuses to open and I get an error message saying the page isn't redirecting properly and that Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

• "The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

how should i solve this issue??? i have enabled cookies option in security.

Does this happen on just one site or does it happen more often?
First I would delete the contents of the cache and delete all current cookies and try again. If clearing does not help, I would try safe mode.
Did you try to start Firefox in the Firefox Safe Mode? If it works when in safe mode, then this problem is probably caused by a broken add-on. If the safe mode does not help, that may be an indication that the server is sending some broken headers.

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
