I use Java plugin to remote into work computer. It now freezes when connecting to the gateway using Firfox 4. Any suggestions?

In Java 3.x I could use Firefox to remote into my company PC and do work. When I upgraded to version 4 it isn't working. I get to where the process is connecting to the gateway and it freezes. I see the Java app begin to run, get a message it's trying to connect to the gateway and then it just hangs.
Safari and other browsers connect without issue, so I'm thinking there is something going on with the Java app and Firefox. I have the latest versions of both.

The receiver app has a specific list of servers it's compatible with, if the server is not on the list the app won't work in OS X.

my Atv3 is due for an update and ive tried several times to install it but although it downloads it never finishes installing and tells me that it wasnt possible to update and to try another time. I try every other day and it only inches forward in the progress but it never completes the installation. I was tired of waiting and I decided to keep on trying in a period of time one night until it would finally install, that never happened and Im not sure what is going on but the remote stopped working with the atv3 and when I press a button the box light flashes several times but does nothing, ive disconnected it and left it that way for over 24 hrs, ive disconnected everything (tv, internet etc) and nothing. I cant reset the atv3 through the remote either...i dont know what else to do

Thanks restoring and restarting didn't fix my problem - i have started it fresh and still it doesn't work. Basically I press ONCE on the remote, after the machine has not had any commands for 10 minutes, and the cursor skips from one end of the menu to the other - so I can't choose network or update software etc - I sometimes manage to stop it randomly in the middle of the menu if I press on a command in the middle of the cursor skipping all the menu steps...not sure what the problem is but I have basically not used my brand new apple tv since I bought it for that reason! I should call Apple support I suppose! grrrr hate wasting time with stuff like this!

I have an old 160 GB iPod Classic, when I plug it into my computer to update it, it connects and the immediately disconnects, is there a way to stop this from happening so I can sync it?

Does anyone have a way of making it not to do this? It will still charge and everyting off that cord. It's just really odd.

For your work email, do you use a well known server or do you use their own server? Their server IMAP and SMTP addresses might of changed or you entered them in wrong. It might be something with your router but unless you blocked every incoming connection, then it should work. I would talk to your tech guys at work to see if it is on their end.

Snow Leopard is a Mac OS X version. You say that it's the version you have in your Mac (10.6.8). Do a back up of your files, format the hard drive (using Disk Utility) and reinstall again

Go to Options>Applications>click on, in your case, Adobe Acrobat entries and select "Use Adobe Acrobat(in Firefox)" or as you wish.

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Back to Safari. Press Command + Option + E to empty the Safari cache.
Quit and relaunch Safari, try a video.
