I use Pages ,when I close a document is it automatically backed up to the cloud
When I use the app "Pages" when i close a document is it automatically backed up to the cloud. I worry if my computer crashes I have many documents that I do not want to lose. Or should I be backing up to a thumb drive... if tha is the case how do i do this from pages?
If you plug in a thumb drive it'll show up in Finder. You can just copy your Documents folder to it. You might want to consider a Time Capsule, which will automatically back up everything on your Mac. It's very transparent, meaning once you set it up it takes care of everything. Additionally, it saves older versions of your files. Say you had a version last Thursday that was almost perfect, then you rewrote it and accidentally saved it. With Time Machine (the software that works with the Time Capsule), you can just go back to last Thursday and retrieve the old version.

I am changing from Word to Pages. I have created my custom template with all my styles etc and that is what comes up when I go for a New Document. Fine. How do I get it to use the same Custom Template when I use Pages to open a Word document?
The template is a document in itself, it is not applied to an existing document whether it is a Pages document or a Word document converted to a Pages document.
You would need to either copy and paste content, using existing styles, or apply the styles to the converted Word document.
You can Import the Styles from an existing document and those imported Styles can be used to override the current document's styles:
Menu > Format > Import Styles
The process is simplified if the styles use the same names, otherwise you will need to delete the style you don't want and replace it with the one that you do want when asked, then the substitution is pretty straightforward.

Using Pages, I have created a document and inserted a Table for use logging an inventory. When I came to print this document the lines and boarders of the Table feature did not print however the text did print in the table format. How do I get the lines and boarders to print also?

How can I open a new page (using "Pages") when I already have another page open? It just keeps reverting to the page I have opened already and won't let me open another one?
To make a new document, go to File > New From Template chooser and choose the type of document you wish to create.
To add a new page to an existing document go to Insert > Sections > Blank. -
In pages, when a create a document, potions of it, say several pages will be clumped together and it effects me editing their order. It is like they are forever joined- How do I edit my document and print just one page or move just one page?
May you open your eyes before creating a new thread ?

Pages question: recent update OS10.5 to 10.6 to Lion. Using Pages (4.1) only some documents intermittently
won't open. At Genius bar loaded new copy Pages; reloaded Lion clean install. Still won't open although will on another computer. On the other Mac (running Lion), saved a copy of a document with a new name and sent it back to first computer. At first it would open, but now it as well as multiple other Pages documents won't open. What now?yes;
I got Pages to work now- there were two versions, one Universal, and one Intel- by moving the Universal to trash ( although I can't delete it) and moving Intel version to iWorks folder in Applications, it is now working. Doesn't explain why it didn't work though- the other MacBook pro 17 inch that could open all the Pages documents also has two copies of Pages as I see now....
I still however can't open Numbers documents on the MacBook pro 15 inch.... it is a Universal version of Numbers. -

Trying to print a document from Pages, when I go to print it won't let me select the document. It is grey and I can't click it. What should I do?
I'm not clear on how you're trying to print. When you select Print from the file menu in Pages the current document is already selected. Perhaps you need to show the details in the print dialog. The first screenshot is from Mountain Lion the second from an earlier OS where you click the blue down-facing triangle button (sorry, I can't remember which one).

When I print a document with Arabic script in In Design the characters appear in an inverted form, in the opposite direction, while the printer doesn't do this with other software such as Word

When you say "print", do you mean the text is correct in your InDesign file? If you export the document to a PDF, is it still correct? Final test: if you print the PDF to your printer (making sure you use the same driver and setting), is it wrong? Then it's your printer driver, trying to be smart when it should not. Locate a Settings dialog where you can switch off options such as this one. Were I a betting person, I'd tell you to look for something called "Auto-correct mirrored documents". -
I'm having trouble formatting a book I'm writing using Pages. I need to put my name and book title in the upper left hand corner of EACH page- opposite the page number. How do I do this?
And if this is the new IOS Pages v2 (or the older IOS Pages 1.7.2), you click the wrench icon and then Document Setup. Tap the document header to edit it, and apply the same instructions that I gave previously for OS X Pages v5.
The process for Pages ’09 v4.3 is slightly different. You click the Header, and enter your document title and your name as previously described. You will need Menu > View > Show Ruler. Click once in the ruler at the first or second mark after the 7 inch (roughly 18cm). This will set a tab. Now position the insertion mark behind your title and tab once to the mark you set. Now you can Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers ... -
How do I find a previously passcode to link a wireless keyboard (Model A101urs6) to a Mac Power Book G4 running 10.5.8. The keyboard was linked at one point in the past, but then not used. When I am trying to hook it up now, it requires the passcode. Where can I find this, or is there a general number I can use?

I copied a pdf to my desktop to remove some pages, when I go to my original PDF, it's been althered the same way my copy was???
Also, after a numbers of time, I delete everything from my desktop, I keep the folder where I've stored my PDF, copy the original pdf in it (after I make sure the original PDF was still intact), once copied, the copied version has the changes I've made in it from my previous operation.
Do you have any ideas?Make sure it's not an alias.

I keep getting internet explorer cannot display web page when trying to download itunes. This only shows on half the page where the download link would be. My internet connection is fine. Any idea what the problem may be?
You won't see anything obviously related to iCloud, Jimmy. But if you go to the home iTunes Store page while logged into your iTunes Store account, you should see a Purchases link now under the Quick Links header. That's the only part of iCloud active at this time.

when I receive word documents via my yahoo on my mac, the format always come up as a TEXTEDIT doc. This is causing me serious problems. How do I enable my documents to open in the original format it was sent?
Do you have Microsoft Word installed on your Mac? If so, you can reassign all .doc files to Word by selecting the file in Finder and choosing "File > Get Info" from the menu. In the window that opens look for "Open with" and change the entry to "Microsoft Word".

I have the cloud on my pc and I've moved documents to it, but they don't update when I update the one on my pc.
