What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.

This is a part of the larger MacBook Pro connectivity issue. There are several related threads dealing with the MBP's networking problems. If your unit is suffering from this type of difficulty, good luck ... (or a long ethernet cable)

I updated today to the 5.0.1 and now when I try to sync to ITunes, it doesn't recognize my phone and an error message comes up saying that "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started.' Ok, so the likely cause is 1 or more Songs are tripping up iTunes Match. To resolve, move to Song view, switch on iCloud Status and iCloud Download fields - sort the view on iCloud Status - identify Songs with status other than Purchased, Matched or Uploaded. Temporarily remove them from the library, allow iTunes Match to complete the 3-step process. Gradually import the Songs back in - any that cause a repeat failure, place in a playlist, burn to audio CD and import as 256k AAC.
Note: iTunes Match service in UK at present is intermittant, may be worth trying from 1200 tomorrow to give Apple the chance to complete its current updates.

My backlight on my macbook pro unibody is not working. The lights do not come on. Does anyone know how to fix this manually? Im also missing screes to the back of my computer holding it in shape. My battery needs to be replaced as well. How do i do all of this? Id also like to replace my RAM.

For the keyboard backlight:
Have you tried pressing the "lights on" F-key, that has like a half-round rays of light over a bar symbol (currently F6 on my Mac, but may be different on other models)? If it doesn't work, does anything show on the screen?
If a crossed-out symbol pops up onscreen when you press the F-key, that means that automatic keyboard lighting is enabled and the Mac thinks surroundings are too bright already. Go to System Preferences / Keyboard and uncheck the "Automatically illuminate keyboard..." item, then try again.
For the screws:
Visit www.powerbookmedic.com or www.ifixit.com and see in their Mac parts section for a replacement screw set. You will need to know your Mac's model, printed on the bottom lid, to ensure you get the correct parts for that particular computer.
For the RAM:
While in either of the two places I mentioned above, visit their How-To / DIY section for instructions on how to replace RAM on your Mac. Then visit www.crucial.com, www.corsair.com, www.kingston.com, www.otherworldcomputing.com or any other RAM maker, use their RAM advisor together with your Mac's model to select the correct RAM upgrade kit for your Mac.

I have loaded the latest and greatest version of the gmail app and I want it to quit pushing my mail. I do not want my notifications of endless junk mail filling my phone and costing me huge data charges. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

If you're using the BlackBerry browser, you can't configure anything to bypass the RIM servers. I believe you may do so by using the Opera browser, but I haven't tried it myself so cannot comment with authority.

I am using a MacBook Pro. Bought in April 2011. Upgraded to Lion, OSX 10.7.3
I have an Apple mail account that synced with a gmail account in my Mail Program.
I then chose the CLOUD activation. I can find my mail if I go to cloud.com but I no longer get any Apple mail delivered to my Mail program on my computer. My gmail account syncs just fine. In fact, the Mail program doesn't even open any longer when I double click. I have to go to the Mail menu, select Message Viewer to even view my mail program now. The Internet connection is testing fine using the Connection Doctor. But when the Connection Doctor program just whirs for eternity and never finishes checking the accounts.
Is this a bug? Do you have to set up your mailbox again for Apple mail to get it to sync after having mail hosted on the Cloud? Or does hosting on the Cloud mean I now always have to go the hassle of logging in at the cloud site to even access my Apple mail?
Any ideas out there? I am sure there are Mac geniuses, the real ones, floating around in cyber space and would love to get some intelligent directions to solve this new issue.

I would like to add that Comcast is my internet provider. Perhaps that is part of the issue although the Connection Doctor confirms the mail box is connecting to the internet. No other function processes when Connection Doctor program is used to find the source of the issue. I have read forum posts but am unable to find a way to get my Apple mail to be delivered to my computer. It worked fine up until I chose to transfer mail to the Cloud. My mail account is a .mac account.
Still hoping someone out there can help me.

My Calendar on my iPhone won't allow me to save any events. It says "cannot save event" does anyone know how to fix this issue?

After updating my phone earlier this month to the 5.1 software my calendar won't let me save any events. It displays "Cannot save event" I have tried googling the error and I have tried restarting the app, restarting my phone and even cutting the calendar off and back on....nothing has worked. Any other suggestions???

Select the drive and Finder > Get info and at the bottom "ignore permissions on this volume"
You can copy the files, but the ownership on the files still belongs to the other user account, once your done copying, then perform a #6 Reset Users Permissions and that will set all the ownership to that account.

I know that the settings for Muse are supposed to have links open in new windows but that is not happening. I've unlinked and linked them again several times. Actually all of the outside links open in the same Muse window. Help please!! I'm ready to connect the domain but can't bring myself to doing that until I get this fixed.

I use master password & if I change passwords on a site, it doesn't ask to "change" Also doesn't ask to "remember" with new usernames/passwords. Does anyone know how to fix this or add usernames & passwords to saved password page on Firefox.

Firefox (I think version 5, maybe 4) does not ask to "remember" passwords anymore nor does it ask to "change" a password when I've done that. It didn't ask when I changed my Facebook password & I have to log in each time so I removed my username & password for FB on Firefox's "saved password" page. When I've don't that before, it asks to "remember" but doesn't anymore. I use a master password.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

Every time I try to connect the devices via bluetooth is won't connect saying my Macbook Air isn't supported when in actuality it is. Anyone know how to fix this issue? I have restarted both my Mac/Iphone and have turned bluetooth on/off and nothing seems to help. Bluetooth pairing didn't work before I updated to IOS 8.1 so I doubt that is the issue here.

No ringer sound
