I use to have another apple ID but now it's gone. Even when I go to my previous discussions from two years ago, people referred to me by my old screen name, "UMX" but now it's "aes07" What happened? I had two Apple ID's, did they merge?

As well, what you're saying is; accounts that had the same email address assocaited to it (such as mine...I had two accounts with the same email address) were merged and Apple arbitrarily picked the screen name for the user?

What is being done about users inability to use their Apple ID at iTunes Store. I do not have another Apple ID, I do not want to change my password and I want my phone to work as it should.
You can try signing out and signing back in. You can also go into Settings > Safari and Clear all Cookies. You can even try logging into the iTunes Store on a computer and downloading a free app or something.
If none of those work, then you will have to wait for the issue to be resolved on Apple's end. -

If you have a rescue email address on that account then you've checked the inbox and spam folder on that email account as well (and you can't get the password reset by answering your security questions on http://iforgot.apple.com) ? If you still can't find then try contacting Support in your country, they should be able to reset the password for you.

If you know the answers to your security question for the ID you can use that method to reset the password rather than email (by going to https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid).

I used to have a apple id but when i got my macbook i changed it. Then i downloaded OS X and updates in my app store will not let me change my apple id back to my new one it just still uses my old one. What do i do?

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple Id to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new ID. -

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

i have old email address that is being used on my apple id and i do not know password I also have another apple id created but when I go to the istore it shows my pld account and i cannot delete and setup the right one
No, "My Number" was not listed in my Phone menu, I had to manually type it it. Is there a way for that number to automatically be listed in that "My Number" spot? Would that maybe have something to do with my phone number not being listed as an option in the "Send and Receive" spot under messaging???

If she logs into her account (an account can't be cancelled or deleted, you can only stop using it) on her computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, there should be a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it - clicking on that should then display a list of her purchases. I used to have another email address associated with Itunes and transfered my songs to my new Imac now some of the songs wont play because they were athorised on another computer and I cannot remember my old Itunes password associated with the old email.
