I use windows desktop at home and want to use Apple laptop on the go. What do I have to do to be able to use both platforms when my account is for Win.? I am thinking of converting my home computer to Apple as well in the near future. Thanks

Cloud accounts are multi-platform.
You have a maximum of two activations but can use them on Win/Win or Mac/Mac or Win/Mac. The choice is yours.

the help pagers just bring me around in circles. the ipod doesn't show up in system devices under the busses. i've tried just about everything. Im using windows xp at home and though maybe it was because of that. so went to a relatives and used a brand new lap top avus with windows 7 and it wont show up here either. When i got the ipod a few days ago from a third party the only screen i could get to come up was a picture of a usb cord with an arrow pointing towards the itunes logo. I downloaded i tunes and couldn't get it to change. brought it to at&t store today they hooked it up with my usb cord to thier computer and suddenly the menu screens work and i could even get online with it yet when i try to hook it up to one of my computers it doesn't show up anywere where can i go to get this fixed and fixed quick jumping around the apple help pages have put me in a foul mood and im sick of it two days spent trying to get it to show now. im sick of waiting around i need help asap so i can return this **** thing if it turns out it is broken somehow..which i dont think it is.

I purchased design premium 4.0 German Windows from my friend and wanted to installation it. However, the key code does not work. He has the PC is no longer, so he can not disable the product key. He loaded it, but only in Englisch (trial version?) Please help me for the next step. I have the license agreement in my hand.

Sorry, but your likely going to have to use Windows 7 and Office on your Mac at work using Bootcamp.
Although you can share files OfficeMac and Office on Windows, the formatting will be off because two platforms use different installed fonts and formatting. This will cause a productivity lost and require extra editing at work
If you could share just PDF's then your fine, but that will unlikely be the case.
So to share files seamlessly your going to have to install Windows 7 (another $300) full version, 64 bit, using Apple's Bootcamp.

It's ok, though, you can boot into OS X to use that online and surfing etc at home. It's the internet and sharing of files from other Windows users that cause Windows to hoze up, so mimimalize both of those and you should be fine.
You can also run Windows 7 in a virtual machine software like Parallels or VMFusion. as long as you don't have any super demanding needs of the hardware, like running 3D games or super intense CPU actions like video processing. Office work is just fine and it's safer than Bootcamp, as in a virtual machine you can keep "snapshots" of previous states of the OS, and revert back to in case something goes wrong in mere seconds.
A real good piece of news though, Windows 8 is so radically changed from Windows 7, that your workplace will remain with Windows 7 as long as possible to put off all the retraining necessary with that new OS version.
So think of the $300 + $60 investment in Windows on your Mac as a longterm thing. -

I know this post doesn't really help you guys, but I'm also using PSE9 on a Win7 Intel Quad Core Dell computer and the spot healing brush works fine. I only offer this post to indicate that it apparently is not a universal bug in PSE9. Perhaps an Adobe expert can jump in here and help. I can only offer that in Preferences I do have the RAM dialed up to 80%, but I don't think this is related to your problem.

Sorry for the poor grammar and spelling, but was trying to get in my question in the limited character window.. The how to link that most folks get sent to http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991 , say's I need to create at least 1 contact in Outlook or Windows address book, which I don't have..How can I do this without the hassle that I've gone throught before of having to restore from iCloud and fixing all my settings, contacts, etc. Everything is backed up iCloud and I got all the data from my Apps and copied it into new folders..I've already 'synced' my phone with iTunes, but only the Apps..Once I go to manally change music, tones,or pics I get the big warning erase and replace message..I have copies of all my music, tones, and pics..I know I'm repeating myself, but my question is the same, but just not able to create any contacts to make iTunes happy, and don't see the option of making a backup copy of what's on the phone..I've already backed it up to iTunes..I have an iPhone5 and just downloaded the latest version of iTunes..Still backing up to iCloud, but want both options. What should I do? Thanks....jc
Sorry for bmping as I don't usualy do this, but after 3 days and no asnwers I'm surprised no one has responded...I'm sure someone has had the same problem and or one of the many Apple or Microsoft Engineers know or at least have some possible solutions...Otherwise I'm stuck and have to reset the whole library which takes quite a lot of time..Any ideas please fellow users...Thanks..

Hello I got an Iphone 4 today. The guy set it up for me in the shop and i couldnt remember my apple password so i set up phone using my work email. However I have given him the incorrect one and now at home cannot access the apps or itunes as I cannot verify my apple id. Can i now change it on my phone to the one i use at home? I have worked out how to change it on the computer but dont know were to change it on my phone is it possible? Help.... sal
when you open the app store scroll down to the bottom it will display the apple id currently in use, change it to your normal apple id email

Hi. I have i pad. I have 3 choices of connection for internet. btwifi, bt wifi with fon and my home hub. I run Quickbooks in my desktop (mac) at home and want to access it while I'm away from my Macbook... Will Apple remote Desktop 3 enable me to do this?
Work with and store the documents on DropBox or something similar. It's free for DropBox. All you need after that is access to the internet and regardless of where you are and what you're using you have access to your documents.

Binned BT and want to use Time Capsule instead of BT Home Hub
This is my first question so please be gentle with me and forgive any errors!
After a truly horrendous experience with BT (22 calls to them in two weeks to resolve broadband speed of 0.4 mbps and no that's not a typo) I've changed ISP.
I already had a Time Capsule which previously I've used only as back up facility. Now I have a separate cable modem and want to use the Time Capsule as a router. The cable modem is plugged in to the phone line (with a filter) and there's an ethernet cable connecting it to the Time Capsule.
I thought I could bin my hated BT Home Hub, but the minute I unplug it, the set up doesn't work.
So it would seem that my Mac is talking to the Home Hub, that's talking to the TC and that's how I'm getting onto the net. I'm at a loss what I need to do to be able to throw the Home Hub in a skip.
Would greatly appreciate any advice as this is frying my tiny brain!

Macbook Pro, iPad 2, iPhone 4, Time CapsuleThere are some issues here.. if your modem is plugged into the phone line it is adsl not cable modem..
The TC is not a modem.. it is a router.. you still need a modem to provide connection. Ask your new ISP for what their preferred modem is.. In the UK most ISP use PPPoA method of authenticaiton.. The TC cannot handle that.. they only offer dhcp to an existing router or PPPoE. That means the TC needs to be bridged. If the BT home hub is now running fast though, a new modem is not going to make the connection go faster. -
I bought a new laptop and used Windows Easy Transfer cable and moved all files from one computer to another. I installed iTunes and found my iTunes music Library. However, when I plug in my iPod it says it is already synced with another iTunes Library.
I don't see anything in Help that shows when you already have transfered all the files over. Why would it want to erase and sync when I already have all the music folder copied over? I didn't have an issue when I had another technician copy from one laptop to another. Home sharing is also on but not being recognized.I suspect you only migrated the media folder instead of the complete working library. Either review the transfer process and copy over the entire iTunes folder from your old profile's music folder or see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

I nornally use Photoshop CS3 but I have just download the TRY version of PSE8 and would like to open jpg files via Camera Raw, how can I set up the Preferences to be able to do this, is it possible or can I only open raw files via Camera Raw.
