I used an AppleTV to display on a TV 30,000 digitized family photos stored on my iMac. When I opted to use iCloud, I lost ability to show my photos. All I could show are canned Apple photos. I am willing to pay for iCloud storage.
How do I display on AppleTV screen saver my library of 30000 digitized family photos? I am glad to pay for extra iCloud storage.
iCloud does not include a feature like the old MobileMe Gallery.
Photo Stream does work on the AppleTV, but will only show the last 1000 photos taken and synced to iCloud. You can't create user-defined galleries.
Until June 30th 2012 (when MobileMe closes down), you can still access your MobileMe Galleries, by logging in using your [email protected] MobileMe AppleID and password. That still works for now.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is a long-term solution for your particular usage.

Having had recently a problem with my credit card with itunes (the only place I ever used that particular card), and several fraudulent charges, I no longer wish to give my credit card information to itunes or any other apple outfit. Can we pay for icloud by cheque, or money order, or some other way, perhaps a bank account where I would leave just enough money to cover the payment. This would be the only I would pay for icloud. The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud. With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated. There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

Set up iMovie Theater and iCloud
In order to take full advantage of the capabilities of iMovie Theater, you must be signed in to iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud, movies and trailers shared to iMovie Theater are automatically uploaded to iCloud. You can also turn off automatic uploading, and upload just the movies and trailers you want, or delete individual movies and trailers from iCloud. If you sign out of your iCloud account on your Mac, all iCloud movies disappear from the Theater, but they are not deleted; the movies reappear when you sign in again. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and click iCloud.
Make sure you’re signed in, and then select the Documents & Data checkbox.
Click the Options button next to Documents & Data.
Make sure the iMovie checkbox is selected.

Select the “Automatically upload content to iCloud” checkbox.
To turn off automatic uploading, deselect the checkbox. -

Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
You will need the Apple ID and password used to purchase Lion. If you have not purchased Lion, then you will need to purchase the Snow Leopard DVD and install Snow Leopard then update it to 10.6.8 to access the App Store where you can purchase and download Lion under your own Apple ID. Or you can purchase the Apple USB Lion installer flash drive at any local Apple retailer or the Online Store. -

Not photos, just data synced with iCloud shown in Settings>iCloud. If you don't have sufficient storage to back up to iCloud, back up to your computer instead using iTunes (connect you phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to ths Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now). Also transfer your purchases to your iTunes library (connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases). If you have photo stream photos older than 30 days tha you wan to save, save these to your camera roll before backing up (tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward facing arrow, then tap Save to Camera Roll).
When setting up your new phone, when given the option choose Restore from iTunes Backup and restore the backup you made earlier. -

I've been getting the runaround from the support people. They said to resolve my issue check out the following kb articles. The articles were aimed at giving me more information about ID3 tags and formats that I care about. I just want my burnt cd's to work in my CD-TEXT capable cd player.
I've done this using alternate software packages so I know my hardware supports it. I'm really looking for a complete solution for myself (techie) and my wife (non-Techie) to use and make us both happy. I have to admit, this really bothers me.
I know I'm not the only person asking about this. Please add the support for CD-TEXT to I-Tunes.

Can I use Paypal to pay for Icloud storage? We are getting messages that we are exceeding the 5GB of free storage and need to pay for additional storage. I can use Paypal on ITunes but don't see that option with Icloud storage? What am I doing wrong?
The payment associated with your account is for all iTunes and App store related purchases. If you already have a valid payment method in place, you shouldn't be asked for one when you purchased additional iCloud storage.

I transferred files and photos from MacBook to iMac via ethernet cable and using migration assistant. However every time I transferred, it created a separate user and it transferred all files and photos again and again. So now I have 3 users accounts with all files and photos saved 3 times on same iMac !! Any idea how to avoid this ?
Yes, you ran into a very understandable problem.
When you use Migration Assistant, it cannot over-write the account that you happen to be using at the time. Upon migrating accounts, it will tell you that it is going to create a new one, but that message is easy to miss.
If you have three identical accounts, log in to the account you want to keep, and delete the redundant ones in System Preferences > Users & Groups.
Now that you know, the easiest way to migrate accounts is to use Setup Assistant when you first get a new Mac. That eliminates any possibility for this to occur, but most people are so eager to use their new Mac that they elect to migrate later.
That's OK too, but in that case you would want to create a temporary account whose sole purpose is to run Migration Assistant so that you may migrate your old one with an identical name. Be sure to give the new account Administrator privileges. When that finishes you would log in to the newly migrated account, and delete the temporary account. -
I purchased a movie on apple tv. I then went to my pc and clicked "check for available downloads", but the movie is not there. I don't have enough storage to put the movie on icloud, and i refuse to pay for more storage to move something that i already paid for. any suggestions?
It looks like the answer is to log out of iTunes and then back in. That allowed Rentals to show up in my Movies Library. I rebooted about three times which didn't work. I closed the application and restarted it many times which didn't work.
The solution was to log out of my username and then back in. That worked.

Please, can Apple give explanations about dropping Applescript support for Pages 13!!??? It is paramount, please do something to fix it asap!!!
You might want to check your firmware version. Go to: Settings>General>About. Look at the version field, it should be: 5.0.1(9A406). If it's 9A405 you need to update the firmware by connecting your phones to iTunes and updating it. This worked for me as I work on a ship and don't have a signal inside. I was having to do your little trick many times during the day when I would go outside to check for messages.

The Samsung.. may not be able to see the Time Capsule hard disk..
because it does not contain any files it can read.
because it is not conformed to standard SMB file system.. the TC name is often illegal.. remove all spaces and special characters and keep it short.
Same for wireless name and all passwords.
There is no media player in the TC so it is useless for your TV even if it can see the hard drive .. the TC is a dumb backup device.
