I used the plug in check and it said i needed to update adobe shockwave. However, i downloaded the most recent version and the check still says I am out of date. I installed 11.5.9r615 for apple os 10.swno leopard full 64 bit. why is this.

I uninstalled shockwave and reinstalled it with the same result. what gives?

I have that same problem on my laptop, it is because Adobe Shockwave does not support 64 bit systems yet...I am not sure how you would do it on your particular operating system, because I am running windows 7..but I have to go into IE 32 and run the update. Check yours and see...hopefully that will work for you or at least this explanation works .

You should get your keyboard checked as it's repeating on a lot of keys and makes you look silly.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

Updated to 5.0.1, Mozilla and Google Plus still says it's out of date.

I got an invite to Google Plus. When I went to the site, it said my Firefox was out of date and needed updating. So I did, to 5.0.1 Even my "about Firefox" says it's up to date.
However, when I got to Google Plus it still says it's out of date and when I go to the Mozilla Firefox page it too says it needs updating.

Are you downloading it directly from Adobe - of from the site where you get the error message?
Never download from a third party site as you may get an older version or a corrupted version.

Connected Apple TV Box tonight and it said it needed an update. I ran the update, and it worked for a few minutes. Then all of a sudden, a screen popped up showing that I needed to connect via USB plug to my MacBook Air to connect to iTunes. Why??

I conneced the Apple TV and it worked fine at first. It has worked well for some time. We are using them in our school this year, as well as converting to all apple products. I have been able to pull up my computer screen through Apple TV onto our projectors. However, tonight when I started apple TV, the mirroring icon came up, and everything seemed fine. Then a message came up that the Apple TV Box needed an update. I clicked on the button to run it now, and it seemed fine. The mirroring worked for about 5 minutes after the update, then I got a screen that had a picture of the Apple TV Box and a USB cord directed toward a picture of the iTunes icon. The light on the frontof the component flashed, and I couldn't go to the menu at all. I wouldn't do anything. I no longer cold see the Airplay/mirroring icon on my computer either. I tried to shut everything off and reboot the computer and the Apple TV box. However, none of this worked.
Any suggestions??? I'm a high school football coach, and this is how our team will watch film this year. I really need to get this rectified by the end of the week, as our team will go into camp for the next two weeks.

I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?) touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

I have an ipod 4th generation and it has currently got the software version 4.1 and when i try to download and update my ipod to the most recent version and when it's done downloading it just ends with an error saying connection error every time!?

I recently experienced Firefox continuously crashing whenever I try to attach a PDF to an e-mail in Yahoo (not a large file size - about 300kb). I checked my add-ons to see if there was an issue there, and noticed there was a message stating "Adobe Acrobat is known to be vulnerable and should be updated message", even though I thought I had already updated it.
I went ahead and re-downloaded anyhow... it successfully installs, and then I still get the same error message.
Furthermore, this issue was recently added on top of my Firefox already running slow and crashing... I often clear my cache and have tried running in safe-mode as well, although this doesn't allow me full capabilities...
The only thing that seems to be different is the issue with the Adobe Add-on and a recent Java update. Are there instabilities in these?
How do I fix the issue with Adobe? I need to be able to upload, download, and view PDFs...

I was updating my iphone to ios 8 and it went into recovery mode. i went onto itunes to fix it and it said i needed to update my phone. when i clicked on it it said it would take 500 hrs and kept going on, then it would crash. plz help. :(

I have experienced a similar error with the iPhone 4S. The new version of iTunes will not let me restore the phone, it must be updated and nothing appears to be happening. Suffice it to say I am not amused. Apple needs to work this out - I had trouble updating to 8.0.2 as well.

I installed a plug-in for the gov time site. I now get the error message that I need to update my firefox to 3.0 or more recent version. I have the latest firefox version.

The error msg references UTCNIST4. I haven't been able to locate the file with the intention of removing it. It seems to have slowed down my computer appreciably.

In the first table, there are two rows for Windows: one for the ActiveX control for IE, and one for the plugin for Firefox. You might want to grab both. And try the .msi files instead of the .exe files to see whether those work better.

It's odd that on a newly rebuilt system your More System Details shows that you have a user.js file, which is an optional settings files used to override your previous session settings. This is not part of the standard Firefox installation, so if you did not create that file yourself, you may want to investigate or delete it. I cannot get Mavericks to download, even when connected directly through ethernet. Anybody know why? I am running OS Lion, the most recent version and my Mac ws from late 2011

I asked this question before, and was told to connect directly to the internet via ethernet, rather than attempting to download wirelessly. Three times I have attempted the download, and the most I get is a small blue dot on the launchpad icon. I click on the Mac store and while it says "Downloading" nothing seems to be happening. All apps are updated and closed and yet...nothing.
I am really frustrated with this whole thing! I am wondering, is Mavericks really worth all this hassle as an upgrade from Lion? And of course, you cannot get help from Apple without paying $20 unless Mavericks downloaded successfully and you are just having trouble.
If anyone out there can help me with potential problems I can remedy myself, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

The download speed all depends on the speed of your internet connection. Mavericks is a 5+ GB download and it will take a while even with a fairly fast internet connection.
The progress bar will barely move in the first few minute and it may take several hours to complete. If the App store is saying it is downloading then I would think it is downloading. Just let it run and set you mac not to go to sleep.
