I used to have reception and 3G access in a certain area....

I've had Verizon since 2008.  We somehow have little to no service in areas where we used to have coverage.  We have four different phones on the plan and it happens to all of them.  Even friends and acquaintances with Verizon have complained that they no longer have service - even outside.  (It used to be hit or miss indoors, but that's not a big deal).  This issue applies mainly to zip code 16424.  We previously had 3G and almost full reception outdoors but spotty coverage inside (no big deal, we'd just walk outside).  Now, we can't get 3G and have only one bar even while outdoors.  Inside there is absolutely no service.  However, my husband takes his work cell phone (AT&T) with us and he has service and internet in the area.  In addition to zip 16424, we now frequently drop calls, even around home, in places where we used to have service.
Keep in mind, I wouldn't be complaining if we hadn't had service all these years in this area.  I do realize that cell service doesn't work on every inch of the planet; however, the issues with these areas just started.  What happened?  Is there an upgrade that we're missing?
Also - why is it so difficult to get to a customer service rep for anything other than sales?  The online chat is never available and hold times are ridiculous!

Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days and your iCloud back only remains on iCloud for 180 days.  If you're looking for photos from last year I'm afraid they wouldn't be in iCloud at this point.  Unless you have another backup on your computer or they are still on one of your other devices they're gone now.

    First thanks for the reply and second sorry about the confusion.  I was unable to get the full message out, but here's the problem:
    Like I had mentioned, for a long time both me and my Mom had comcast and as soon as I came into both dwellings the phone would automatically jump onto either wifi network.  Then a while ago she verison and used the same Belkin router.  So there was no problem and my phone jumped on her system as usual, but at some point something happened and when I got home I noticed that the phone asked to be put on my system.  I would input the password, but it would say "unable to connect" to the network.  I did the standard things like check the network settings on the phone itself and they were fine.  Then I did a reset (actually twice) with the same result.  It seems like the phone ability to pick-up wi-fi is ok because when I go to my University I can log-in with no problem.  The only thing I noticed is when I look at the settings (on the iPhone) for the router at home the whole thing is blank.  My question is: Is there a manual way to get the phone to pick-up my router?  I need to have it on my network at home because I use DocumentsToGo a lot.  Thanks again for your response again and I hope things are clear now.  Have a great day.

    Mine has four  Seriously shauntana the splitter is easy, a simple click to changre feed and eventually you will damage the HDMI port or cable by taking it in and out.  True you can only use one feed at a time nut you can only use one port on the telly at one time too.  I used it on my old one port telly for PS3 and Sky and it worked a treat.

    I agree, you need to adjust your DNS. I have an important question for you, though. Do you see your site if you visit the domain without the www subdomain? In other words, do you see the site if you go to "YourDomain.com" and only get the MobileMe login box if you visit "www.YourDomain.com"? If that's the case, you only need to make one change. If it doesn't work either way, you'll need to make two changes.
    You said that you host with Go Daddy, but you didn't say whether or not the domain was also registered at Go Daddy. I'm assuming it is and that it's registered in the same Go Daddy account that you used to purchase the hosting account...

    That guide can look complicated because there's a lot of stuff that *can* be done in the DNS Manager. In your case, you probably just need to access it and choose the "Restore Detaults" option for your CNAMEs. To be sure, though, it's always best to contact Go Daddy Support so they can go over the exact details of your account with you and make sure you're not making any unwanted changes. They're available 24/7, so you can call whenever it's convenient.
    If the site's not coming up without the "www" subdomain, you should also change the nameserver setting. To do that, read this guide: http://x.co/kTXR
    You'll want to follow the steps for "Setting Nameservers for a Domain Name Registered with Us" and choose the "I have a hosting account with these domains". It'll take a little time after you make this change, but our system should automatically set the domain to point to the hosting account properly.

  • Weird! Not receiving SMS (Texts) but have reception and 3G

    Haven't had a problem with my iphone 4 until i believe I upgraded to the 4.1 and changed the case.
    Basically when I am at home and only appears to be at home and round the area I live I do not receive texts. The phone is showing 2 and 3 bars of reception, I can make calls, send text, send emails but for some reason not receiving texts. However when i make a phone call or receive one all of a sudden I get an influx of text messages come through.
    I have reset the NETWORK SETTINGS
    I have reset the ALL SETTINGS
    I have restored the iphone through itunes
    Can any one help to solve this problem?

    In my opinion, this is probably just a reception issue at your home. If SMS works everywhere else but your home, I think the handset is fine. Do you live in a concrete bunker or steel building?
    SMS uses the carrier or signalling channel and not necessarily the voice or data streams. It's the signalling channel that tells the phone that you have an incoming call or are making a phone call. So, theoretically, if you can make or receive a call, you should also be able to make/receive SMSs.
    Please let us know what happens.

  • When I external edit an aperture photo using Photoshop Elements 9 and then get out, the changes are not reflected in Aperture when I return - this used to work for me but doesn't seem to have for some time - help please?

    Have used Aperture for some time - at some point this stopped working - not sure when
    workflow:
    click photo and elect to use the external editor (Photoshop Elements 9)
    Copy of the photo is created in Aperture with the "O" badge and I am rolled out to Photoshop
    Have to change the type to 8-bit in Photoshop to start making changes
    When done and I exit I am prompted to save the photo
    On returning to Aperture however the "O" badged photo does not get updated/reflect my changes
    Other Things:
    I can find a changed photo sitting in the Aperture Library using finder or Photoshop itself - so I know changes have been made a new file saved (TIFF).
    I am wondering if I am missing some (new) preference such that the changes are not proerly being saved for re-display/storage in the Aperture Library
    I am running Lion OSX at the moment but the behaviour was the same under Snow Lepoard versions.
    Current version of Aperture is 3.1.3, Elements is 9.0
    Any help/suggestions greatfully received

    Try using psd.  Some rerports indicate some confustion between the apps with TIFF.  See:

  • I have old IPad and down load new software. It completely distort my ITune set up. I use to have audio and video in the ITune, now it's separated audio and video in different category. And I can not set group or alphabetical tap to pull out video.

    If set them up in the group sush as; comedy,action,drama,ect. It would be nice.

    I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
    At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
    The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
    I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
    You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

    I have tried to find out how to change this in internet settings and by going to the tool menu and can find nothing.

  • HT4718 I have OS 10.6 Tiger and I use to have DAshBoard and now for some reason I can not find it to launch it.  Can anyone help me??

    For some reason I can not launch Dash board anymore.  I have used Finder and it is not there.  What can I co besides take computer into service?

    1. It's possible you removed Dashboard from your Dock by mistake. In that case, you can find it in your Applications folder and drag it back to the Dock to create the alias. The entire Dock are aliases.
    2. If you cannot find in your Applications folder you can try re-installing the Combo Update I linked to.
    This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.

  • Using PS Elements 10 and MUST access Nikon .NEF Raw images from Nikon D60 and D7100 cameras.

    Previously installed update for D7100, but it's no longer recognizing the Nikon .NEF files.  What's the solution other than buying a new version? There are important images that need to be converted to JPEG for upload to a newsletter that will be published this week.  Thanks.

    I am using Windows 7.  I think that the best path might be a third party conversion program.  Do you have a recommendation?
