I used to love my AppleTV, now I hate it :(
This new update is horrible! I have had my AppleTV since August and had zero problems with it until the new update.
In the past week I've updated the AppleTV, my iPhone 4s, and the Remote app and now nothing works like it should.
Homesharing has been dropping in and out, my remote app won't find the AppleTV unless I get up and unplug it and plug it back in, and now Netflix just flat out won't work. I can get the Netflix app going and select a TV show and episode, but there is a ton of lag in between each screen where it just spins and spins, and it won't play the show at all. I get messages that it can't communicate with Netflix, that Netflix is currently unavailable. Nothing fixes it.
I work from home and Netflix/AppleTV is where I view 80% of my media, I am so frustrated and angry.
What do I do?

My IPad 2, IPhone 3GS ans iPod no longer work with apple TV, I have 2 apple TV in my house and for he last 3 weeks the iPod was the only one we could use for appleTV now none of them works, the apple TV icon does not show up any more. Re-started everything.

RESPONSES:
1) When I set up my iMac, I did not transfer any data directly from my windows PC. I simply used the same iTunes login and account. I have access to all of the files via the "Purchased" section of the iTunes store. If I click "Download Previous Purchases" text, I can download ALL of the purchases I have ever made.
2) I have the Apple TV 2, so good news, question answered. I thought maybe it was the Apple TV 1, but it is the Black model, so bam. Good response for you. Well the whole damned reply is an awesome response, just pointing out that one piece of awesome. I stated that it was an Apple TV 2, and yet you were still good enough to figure I could be mistaken, and provide me with knowleedge just incase.
QUESTIONS:
3) So can my iMac not stream the data directly from itunes, without download? Apple TV can, but perhaps that is something among many things that maker it unique, and awesome.

I work in the computer support section for the Military. The only problem is we use Windows , lol. Well that and i've been gone for nearly 6 months on recover. I go back next month though I hope. But working in that field gives me the abilty to judge responses that run inside the same vein. Your response was so awesome that I half thought I might have written it myself. -
iPhoto keeps crashing! - then needs to repair the library. This is happening each time I import photos or even try to go in to an even and delete photos etc. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please it is so frustrating - I used to love iPhoto - now I regret upgrading to Lion
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -

I wonder if anybody else has come across this issue: after creating a named LOV in Shared Components and using the LOV on an item, I get this error:
ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-20001: Query must begin with SELECT or WITHIt doesn't really matter which item type I choose:
Display as text (based on LOV)
Select list (named LOV)
Popup LOV (named LOV)
When using popup LOV there is some additional error information:

Forgot to add: I have a lot of named LOV's without problems. It's just when using cg_ref_codes that this occurs (Oracle Designer users will recognize this table :-) )
But even when using cg_ref_codes, it doesn't happen every time. Some LOV's based on cg_ref_codes do work.
Edited by: InoL on May 10, 2011 10:33 AMI am one step further: I think the problem is that my named LOV was a "Copy and subscribe" from an LOV in my master application. I have deleted and recreated the LOV in the master several times, but that did not help.
Now, I have created the named LOV in the application itself (not as a copy of the master LOV) and it works. It looks like the copy function in Apex Builder may be the problem. -
Use of LOV versus selectOneChoice components in page navigation.
We will have several applications that our customers will be able to access. The list of applications is stored in a table. I would like to display the list of applications for the customer to choose which one they want.
When I use a selectOneChoice, the selected value only has the display string. I cannot find a way to access the value.
When I try to use an LOV, it wants me to bind it to an Server List Binding. I don't want to use this in another view object, I just want to display it on the page.
Am I even thinking in the right ballpark? I have the selectOneChoice bound to a view object in my application module, and I thought I would be able to access all the attributes in that view object through the selected item in the selectOneChoice item. However, so far I've only learned how to access the display string.
I appreciate all help, I've been working hard to learn this ADF stuff, what I've seen is very nice.Here is my binding.

I am thinking that I am trying to use the component for something it wasn't intended for. I am not using it for a display in a table or form, and every time I try to use a model driven list it wants me to provide a server list.

I am using a static lov which has a code and description. I select an entry from this lov and it's code is stored in a table.
I now want to create a chart on the contents of this table, but need to translate the code stored in the table to the description stored in the static lov.
Is it possible to do this? If so, any hints!?
TobySo you have a table with a code value in it. The description of the code value is in a static LOV item. I would suggest creating a table in the database with the code and description. Then use a dynamic LOV instead of the static LOV and of course for completeness sake create a foreign key from the table you currently have to your new LOV table.
Now to get the description of a code, you just do a SELECT on your code/description table. This would be helpful for a chart title maybe?
Your LOV item on your page will visually display the description, but when referenced it will have the value of the code. So have your SELECT statement in your chart reference your LOV in its WHERE clause.

I have an iMac to use iTunes for playback and buying/downloading media. The iTunes library file is stored on this iMac. The music folder (which menas all the music/movies...) are stored on a linux server. Now, because I also have a Mac mini which is not in use, I want to use this like an AppleTV to playback all media that are stored in iTunes on the iMac. Is that possible?@Chenks
It's not about either buying a Mac mini or an AppleTV. I already have the Mac mini and want to use it like an AppleTV.
I know that I can playback bought and rented movies just in iTunes and not in Front Row. Normally I would set up the source for Front Row on the Mac mini to the iMac, but probably I can't playback the drm movies that way. Is it possible to share the movies from iTunes on the iMac and playback it directly from iTunes on the Mac mini? -
I copied a lot of photos from an iphone to a DVD using a Windows 7 laptop, now I cannot access those photos on the DVD. HELP! In Windows Exlporer I can see the data on the disk in the details but when I click on it nothing appears as if there is nothing on it.
It should. So they aren't shown in the Last Import smart album, right? Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.

I have bought a new macbook pro retina 13. I am not too familiar with Mac yet. I had an apple account with my iphone 4 which I stopped using a month ago. Now when I was trying to download the apps from that account but I dont know how to do this and I am unable to do so. I would be grateful if anyone can advise me with regards to this?
You cannot download the same Apps that you have on your iPhone. They are two seperate stores.
The store you have on your iPhone is the same for any iDevice (iPad, iPhone and iPod)
The store on your MacBook is only for Macs. -
Issue using Super LOV within Skillbuilders Modal page
Hi,
I have an app that has an Interactive Report which opens a form using the Skillbuilders Modal page when you click Create button. Within the Modal Page I have a few items that are using the Skillbuilders Super LOV. It all initially works great but when my validations fire and there are any errors displayed, the Super LOVs stop working. So it won't allow user to search using the LOV.

Just do a on page search (bring up the search bar). type a word and start searching. The search will not work until you specifically click on the page and put the cursor in the page. Why do i have to do that since i'm already viewing the page and i intend to do search??

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches. -
I'm new using Logic, i've been using garageband for quite awhile now though but my question is just basic. When i want to record electric guitar while clicking the software option it brings me to alot of guitar sounds that i want to chose. I chose the twangy electric or the distorted strat but i only hear clean sounds. No matter what kind of guitar sound i chose in the library it only produces clean guitar. How can i make it sound like it supposed to? Did i miss something i should do?
This definitely has me stumped as I'm unsure as to why your guitar can be heard, but with none of the channel strips plugins applied to the sound.
On the record enabled channel strip that contains your guitar input, is the "I" button located near the "R" active? Also, if you record your guitar, can you hear the FX applied to it when you play back the recorded track? -
I'm using iphoto9.1.3 but now it doesn't seem to work, whenever I try to open it, it just shows loading, but never loads. Can anybody help me with this ?
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

You have 2 solutions:
1 - You can use 2 differents icloud account
2 - You use the same account but you don't sync yours contacts.
You configure that in Settings > icloud
You activate or desactivate what you want.
