I've already restarted my computer and created a new user, but my IPhone 4 still isn't coming out of the "restore" setting; anybody know how?
I've recently tried to restore my IPhone4. For some reason, its not working properly (i.e my phone won't come out of restore). I've already restarted my computer, and created a new user account on my computer.The message that keeps popping up says Error 1604 which i know has somethign to do with the USB port but i don't know what specifically. Any Help??
Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

don't just sign out!
if you simply sign out, the stuff you recently purchased will be an issue in the future when an update comes out for apps or anything else. restore the device as new from itunes then restore from a back if you have one as stated above...or set up as new and use correct apple id. this will ensure you will be using the apple id that you used originally without issues from the new one. -
Living in Dubai where many apps are blocked. How can I get around ? Tried to create a new Id but my billing address in Dubai will not match the criteria for an account in the US. Help please to get around the censorship...thanks
The censorship in regards to certain apps not being available in your country is by your country, not by Apple.
Due to various laws and licensing in each country, in order to have an iTunes store account in a particular country you must have a credit card with a billing address in that country. If this were up to Apple, there would be no such requirement and there would be only one iTunes store for the entire world, but various laws, regulations, and licensing issues in each country, this is required by Apple. -
I just got an iPod touch 5g for Christmas and last night I was FaceTiming a family member and I noticed my speaker sounded a little wired, like it blew out which I don't even know how I did it! I never have it up full blast! Does the 1 year limited warrenty cover it?
If you are in the US you can see if there is a genius bar by going to http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar and then click on Make a Reservation at the top and you can search state, city and see how far they are from you.

Before going further, I’d like to recommend you check if the address list is visible in OWA.
If yes, this issue occurs when the AddressBookRoots attribute of the Microsoft Exchange object does not have the same distinguished name value that is set in the All Address Lists attribute.

I am trying to install itunes on my pc so I can upgrade my Iphone. I currently have windows vista. When I try to install itunes it says I am operating in safe mode and won't install. I have tried to reboot my computer and selected "normal start up" but it still won't work. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Last night my imessage and factime on my ipod randomly signed out. When i tried to sign back in i had forgotten my password and created a new one. When i put the new one in, it says it is inccorect when it obviously is not. please help

Sorry, have I misunderstood you?
If you have forgotten your password, then how did you create a new password? You cannot simply "create a new password" after forgetting the original one.
How would you get into the account so that you could change it? -
I have downloaded itunes 10.7 at least a dozen times but itunes is still telling me it can't recognise my iphone because I need to download it!!

I know longer have my computer because im taking time off of school. I have no way of putting fresh music on my phone and its bugging me. is it possible for me to sync my iphone to a friends computer and his itunes if his iphone is already synced to it, without it deleting any of his memory, data, iphone settings, or songs?
It will not, but syncing it will sync all of your notes, apps, songs, and email onto his computer. I mean that he will not see your email password, but he is logged in, and can back THAT up on his phone and steal it, but no, it will not.

Can I delete my iCloud and create a new one, but retain all my stuff?
So I can't remember the password/security questions to the current apple ID i'm using for my iCloud. It's an old email address that I don't use anymore. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it's possible to delete my icloud account then simply create a new account and have it sync all the stuff from my old account?
So there is absolutely no way to get rid of that @yahoo.com adress? Maybe remove the @me.com adress, and then create a new account? I want it to be a clean account, not a 2-level account, etc. Just the @me adress. It's possible since today i set up a Mac, and i created a "pure" iCloud adress. just the @me.com

I am having some trouble trying to back up my notes to my iCloud
Not photos, just data synced with iCloud shown in Settings>iCloud. If you don't have sufficient storage to back up to iCloud, back up to your computer instead using iTunes (connect you phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to ths Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now). Also transfer your purchases to your iTunes library (connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases). If you have photo stream photos older than 30 days tha you wan to save, save these to your camera roll before backing up (tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward facing arrow, then tap Save to Camera Roll).
When setting up your new phone, when given the option choose Restore from iTunes Backup and restore the backup you made earlier. -
We had to change our email address and I cannot have access to the old one. I have changed accounts but iCloud sends verification instructions to the old address. I deleted the old but it won't let me access a new account without he verification and they keep sending it to my old email address.
Also-I tried to use my backup hard drive, but I wasn't able to drag/transfer/send/move any of my muic files onto my iTouch when the iTouch was connected to my computer. I can't figure out why it won't let me do that.
The only thing I can see when I open my iTouch on my computer is my file with photos. I can't see videos, music, or anything else. What's going on? -

Okay, so, fast forward from July to now -
- I've visited my closest Apple store's genius bar twice now. (Over an hour and a half away.)
- My computer spent at least 8 hours behind their closed doors in the workshop
- Several complete erases of the harddrive have taken place
- Most of the Apple geniuses I dealt with were nice and very knowledgeable, but they were and still aren't 100% sure exactly what is wrong with my computer.
The good news is:
- They were able to at least get it running again, with a clean install from their servers of OS X Lion 10.7.5
- They believe that my problems stem from either 1 of 2 things:
- Faulty Hard Drive (even though it is brand new)
- The wrong build of software being installed.
Now, while the wrong build does seem like it could be the problem, it doesn't make sense in the aspect that all of the initial problems began when the first hard drive failed. The same problems continued when I changed out the failed hard drive with the brand spanking new one, and only slightly improved when I was able to successfully install the OS that came with the original disks for my computer. I'm not convinced this thing is back to normal, but hopefully I can make it last through getting a shiny new retina Macbook Pro in the coming future. Comments restricted to 25 Characters in ALV grid.
