I've been getting "Unknown error" a lot lately, is there a known issue here?
"Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error."
I have been getting this error lately across multiple desktops. Is there a known issue recently introduced into the Firefox 4 beta series?
Have you tried the standard fixes:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.

Hi, i had the same problem. Try to find the file "apple" or "itunes" don't know it anymore exactly. Ahm well you need to delet any information or just plug in your iphone into an other computer. important is that your iphone never has been pluged in this computer before. This was what i did, and it worked!

I keep getting unknown error occured(4450) when trying to burn a CD, running Windows Vista...any help would be apprciated.
I had this issue to when trying to burn discs recently. I went into the CD creation settings in iTunes and I "unchecked" the option to "Include CD Text" and after I did that, the disc I had been trying to burn several times with error, actually burned without fail. Give that a try and see what happens.

I am having trouble updating apps on my ipod and itunes, getting Unknown error (11111) I am on a laptop running windows 7 ultimate, using an apple id that goes through my yahoo mail. I updated all of my account info, tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling and nothing works. I'm also having a problem when I sync my ipod, itunes tells me it can not back it up becuase the back up is corrupt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, I have tried to find out why I have been receiving the "Unknown Error (11111)" when trying to purchase anything from iTunes. I think I figured out the problem. Seeing how there are few threads with answers to this problem, I'll save you some time. If you have an account with AOL and you are using your ID to log in, make sure that everything is up to date with AOL such as your billing information, etc., for some odd reason, my information needed to be updated and it had been at least a month since my last log in. All I did was log in and update my AOL info and I tried to purchase from iTunes and VOILA, it worked!!

I can't seem to download apps from the app store. I keep getting unknown error eventhough I have reset my apple id password repeatedly. With itunes I have no problem. This is VERY frustrating to say the least.

My Ipod 4th Gen will not turn on. When I hook it up to the computer I get the ITunes symbol and the usb device on the screen of the Ipod. When I go to restore the Ipod it will not restore. I am getting unknown error code 6.

Ipod nano gets unknown error -48 when trying to restore
Hi All
My Ipod nano gets unknown error -48 when trying to restore and download the software update. Specifcally, when I connect my ipod, I get a message saying itunes cannot access the ipod and that I should restore it. I go the the ipod tab, hit the restore button and the download begins (approx 16mb). The download completes, and then I get this message :
There was a problem downloading the ipod software for the ipod "ipod". An unknown error occurred (-48).

I've been getting the error message "The disk you inserted was not readable by the computer". I can't open system preferences, disk utility, or Time Machine. I'm guessing it has something to do with my external hard drive, although it hasn't been touched lately, but I can't figure out how to solve the problem. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Therefore I need to attempt to use my external hard drive with a machine that boasts OS X 10.6.5 or above and then it should work?

I've been getting an error message lately which states the following:
Web Sync could not initialize properly. Check that Polar Daemon is running and start Web Sync again. To restart Polar Daemon you need to run 2 commands in Terminal Start Applications>Utilities>Terminal. To stop Polar Daemon which is already running, write a command”sudo launchctl unload/library/launch daemon/fi.polar.polard.plist.” and press enter. Enter your password when required. If Polar Daemon is not running, “error unloading” message appears. Ignore this error message. Write “sudo launchclt load/library/launch daemons/fi.polar.polard. plist” and press enter to run Polar Daemon.
Is this something I should be concerned about, and if so, what do I do about it?
ThanksThat error message comes from third-party software that you installed. If it isn't working, either remove it according to the developer's instructions, reinstall it, or refer to the developer for support. Back up all data before making any changes.

I get "Unknown Error." when trying to re-log into the iTunes Store for Windows
My AppleID and password work when using a web browser and logging in here, but not when i try to log in through iTunes for Windows.
My events leading up to the error are below. Any suggestions for a fix/solution?
1) "Unauthorized Computer" message when trying to play newly bought iTunes movie.
2) Authentication Failed using AppleID
3) Sign out completely
3a) Try to sign in, but get "Unknown Error."
4) Uninstalled iTunes
5) Reinstalled iTunes
6) Login attempt: Unknown Error
7) Tried deleting "SC Folder" from User Tips
8) Login attempt: Unknown Error
Any thoughts on what I could do differently to get this resolved?How I solved my UNKNOWN ERROR login issue:
I figured out that I had downloaded the 32 bit version of ITunes but I have the 64 bit version of Windows 8. So I uninstalled the 32. and downloaded and installed the 64 bit version of ITunes and everything worked just fine. The Windows 8 firewall was not an issue.
How to determine your version of Win 8. Go to Control Panel, System & Security, then System and that screen shows the version.
I just brought home a new Toshiba laptop and was surprised to see that I have the 64 bit version. But pleased that I fixed the agrivating ITunes issue.

try going to settings>store, click on apple id and then sign out. Restart iphone and sign back in and try downloading again -
I keep getting "unknown error" message come up when I try to get an app. I have put my password in correctly but I then get a message saying I've put my password in incorrectly too many times. So I change my password but I still get the "unknown error" message. I have changed my password 4 times now and nothing is working
I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me... I only had to reset the iTunes cache
1) Open iTunes
2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button. -

RosemaryHave you got the latest version of iTunes on your computer ? There is some troubleshooting for that error code on this page which you could try.

Photo not showing up in PIP imovie'11.
When I go to preview is only a black box or just the original video. It worked fine in imovie'09 The photo shows up in the timeline but not on the preview. I just tried it with a photo that was only 111kb & it worked. Is there a size limit? jpgs
