I've been told the backlight fuse on my iPad has fused on the motherboard-is this easy to fix?i

can you tell me if you can fix a fused backlight fuse on the iPad mini motherboard?

The iPad mini is not user repairable .There are no genuine parts available to anyone and once opened the device no longer will get any support from Apple
of any description including this Apple hosted Community
Apple Stores will sell an Out of Warranty exchange unit identical to the donor device price between $199 and $299 depending on generation

  • TS2755 i need to know how to block someone from sending me txt/imessges and calling me. they have a iphone too so i have been told the only way to block them is to turn off my imessages and only recieve regular txt messages. is there another way to block

how do u block someone from sending imessages and txt and calling ur phone when they have a iphone also. I have been told the only way is to turn off my imessages and recieve regular text messages.. is there another way?? i have searched for apps and cant find one. neeed help!!!

There are no apps and that is not a feature of iOS.
iMessages are handled by Apple's own system, and there is no way to block a specific sender.
SMS messages and voice calls are handled by your cell service provider, so you need to ask them what blocking (if any) features they offer.  If the texts are just spam, you should be able to report them to your carrier and they can block that sender.  Other blocking options will vary from carrier to carrier, so call yours and ask them what they can do.

  • I have a iPhone 5 and mini ipad which I bought unlocked in the UK. I have just moved to singapore and have been told the iPhone won't accept a sim here as the phone is locked to the UK. Any ideas how to unlock. Will this be the same for my ipad?

I have an iPhone 5 and mini ipad which I bought in the UK Unlocked. I have just moved to Singaporen and have been told that my iPhone won't accept a sim as the phone is locked to the UK. Any ideas how to unlock as apple say they can't do it.  Will I have the same problem with my ipad?

Unless you purchased the iPhone direct from Apple in the UK and paid full price either on line or In an Apple Store then it will be locked to a UK Carrier and only that carrier can arrange unlocking
It is unlikely that the iPad is similarly locked as most are sold carrier free unless specifically purchased from a UK carrier as part of a packaged deal involving a subsidy on the price of the iPad ( not very likely but they do exist )

  • I've lost come photoshop cs 8.0 files and have been told by a recovery company that they can't be saved. Is this true?

I've lost some Photoshop cs 8.0 files and have been told by a recovery company that they can't be saved. I've attached a screen shot of what seems to remain of one of the files.  You will see it has 3 different icons that correspond to it. One a 'thumbnail'; one a 'meta' and one an 'exec' file. I have no idea what this means and whether or not someone more experienced in recovery can tell me if these kinds of files are salvageable.  Any kind of input would be great. I'm not well versed in the language that's probably involved in describing this...

This is where the icons that appear are located - not the original files.
The icons are straggler files.  No your original files would not be located there.  The original files (.app files) would be located inside the Application folder.
In fact - I really don't even know why these icons are still on the computer.
It's because when the files were deleted, you did not use an uninstaller.  I do not use Photoshop, but if it comes with an uninstaller, when using same, the uninstaller gets rid of all the straggler files that are attached to the application.  3rd party uninstallers also get rid of straggler files.
I have no idea what they mean or what their function is.
To know what they do, you should post over in the Adobe Forums: Forum: Adobe Photoshop forum area.  It's where all the Mac Photoshop users hang out.  These users will be able to explain to you which files you can safely remove associated with your "lost" files.

  • Iphone 3G and wifi problems.  I've been reading the string about this from last year.  I have an iphone 3G with the latest ios 4.2.1 software.  Every time I connect to my home wifi - Belkin N  - it comes up after a few minutes with "Incorrect Password".

I re-enter the password correctly but it keeps happening.  Any suggestions?

I have a belkin n surf as well and i have got this and other problems. my iphone 3g and 4 often keep on loosing connectivity. especially if the bluetooth is one (either connected or not). it often fails to find my wifi network after waking up from sleep.
the problem i think is most certainly with belkin n. its one of the worst routers out there. unfortunately i didn't read the reviews before buying it. i have other problems with it to like connecting it to a dc++ hub. the setting up for port forwarding is a pain and it tends to connect to the internet on its own even though there are no settings to disable automatic connection.
i was later told by many people online and also read it in the reviews that its one of the very bad router out there along with other belkin routers. belkin has even arranged a replacement for me as its under warranty but i'm avoidng travelling to the other end of the city cause i know all models have the same problem. the worst of them all is a mere 3mbps transfer speed form one computer to another over wifi file sharing even if they both are connected via 802.11n and are placed withing full signal coverage range, with no firewall or security on either on the machines or router. tried it over several macbooks and windows pcs.
    i'm getting lynksys for good.

  • HT1414 hi i have no wifi on my iphone 4s ive been told by vodafone to redue my latest software update how do i do this    ??

hi my phone will not connect to any wifi

I was not recommending true call. What I said was true call blocking is a carrier function, meaning the only true way to block a call is at the carrier. Apps just either provide a service to route calls or as you found to either accept or decline a call. If in the US, you need to put your phone number in the do not call registry, however if the calls are coming from someone that you have done any business with, they can continue to come and are not a violation of the do not call registry.

  • I hope you know the answer for this "easy" question

I created a package for my JSP and import it to be used in a JSP. It works great, but for some reason, it displays an error message saying it can't find the class in import. Can anyone explain that? Thanks.
    null

Have you "registered" the class in the JServ.conf file in the JServ directory under the Apache install? The JServ engine will not know where to find the class that you want if it is not in any of the paths that were set up suring the install (CLASS_PATH environment variable). To register a class, look in the file for directives named wrapper.classpath= . Add the jar file that contains the class that you wish to use. This should fix your problem.

  • Hi, my iMAC is running pretty hot since Apple upgraded the motherboard, it this normal^

    Hi,
Since Apple changed my Motherboard and Hdd inside my iMAC running Windows 7 bootcamp, I find the case or the iMAC runs very hot compared to before...

Post actual temps and then we can tell, please use iStatPro which can be found at www.macupdate.com.

  • SBBOD appears frequently since 10.6.7 upgrade.  Been to XLab etc.  Ideas re: what has changed in 10.6.7 and how to fix?

Older MBP working fine until 10.6.7 upgrade.  Now, SSBOD appears while typing, while using cursor, in apps incl. iTunes, MSWord, Firefox, Mail. Visited XLab section on SSBOD.  Some ideas, but this only started after 10.6.7.  Was worst (most frequent) when "mds" and/or "hd_mount" were very, very active.  "mds" often in the 100% range of CPU use on Activity Monitor.

Thanks for the reply.  I just tried that, but the problem did not go away.  I did notice that in the print queue status window, when I am printing from the same machine, says "A communication error has occurred." if I do not click the Allow button in time.
I just tried turning my firewall off, and everything went back to normal.  The canonijnetwork.bundle is listed as accepting connections.  Printer sharing is also listed as accepting connections.
So, I turn the firewall back on again, and the problem starts up again -- even though it says that all are still accepting network connections.

  • I've been to the Apple Centre and........

    Hey guys,
I've been to the Apple Centre here in the Netherlands, Rotterdam to be specific.
Regarding the discolouration they were able to tell me that week 27 and after MB's have a new top layer which is smoother and do not hold dirt.
About the RDS they could tell me that after a heatsink, logic board and firmware update all week 27 models and later did not have any problems in the dutch stores so far, they couldn't tell me anything about the MB's sold through the internet.
After my visit i'm now a bit more certain that i'm going to buy one anyway.
    Regards.

Hopefully you have been told the truth and not just been given a sales talk - remember that how they make money Plenty of reports about RSD occuring in brand new MacBooks:

I got my MacBook 3 and a half weeks ago. It actually shutdown >on the first and second days.
Maybe the Dutch MacBooks are a special breed. Personally, I would NOT buy a MacBook right now, as I have my doubts about the issue being solved...

  • TS1702 I downloaded IOS6 to my ipad2..since then the Pentix Free app has not been behaving the same as before the download

I downloaded IOS6 to my ipad2...since then the Pentix Free app. has not been been behaving the same
Is this a problem with the upgraded IOS?

It's more likely that the App make needs to provide and update for iOS6.

  • TS4036 My ipad has a message that iCloud back up has not occurred in 2 weeks.  The OK button is not working thereby freezing my iPad.  How do I fix this?

My ipad has an iCloud Backup message stating "This iPad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks."  The OK button isn't responding thereby freezing my iPad.  How can I fix this?

A reset should help: Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button at the same time for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears release both buttons and await restart.

  • What is the motherboard part number for DV3-2232TX (VZ462PA)?

My DV3-2232TX is not booting - and only flashing the Scroll and Caps Lock lights 4 times in a cycle.
From searching, this means the graphics card is broken, but it also seems it's built into the motherboard on this model.
It's out of warranty so I would rather just try and repair it myself with a replacement part, as I suspect any HP repairer will charge like a wounded bull for the service.
I can't, however, find the correct part number to order it!

    Hello,
    Part number 614-0305-A
    Hope this helps.

  • Hello All, I have a Model - MacBook Pro Laptop and the screen recently turned grey giving me zero visibility or access to the computer. Has anyone else seen or had this problem? Is it fixable or should I get a new unit?

    Hello all,
I have a Model - MacBook Pro Laptop and the screen recently turned the colour grey, giving me no visibility or access to the unit.
Has anyone had or seen this problem before? Can it be fixed? I had a repair guy from my local Mac Store take a look at it - he said I needed a whole new screen and top of the computer, but this didn't fix the problem. I took the unit home unrepaired, and a week later it was all of a sudden working fine.
What is happening with my Laptop? Once this happens (grey screen) does it mean that it's going to become a chronic problem?
    Please advise....Thanks

It's kind of difficult to diagnosis your problem without a visual clue, because there is a (mostly) software based "gray screen" at boot issue.
But if you got the screen replaced, took it home and now it works, why the repair shop didn't get it working before it left the store is beyond me.
Unless the repair shop is a authorized apple reseller/repair, I wouldn't have taken it to them, and of you did, they should have fixed the issue right away.
