I've been using FCP 7 on my iMac for quite some time with great success. Lately I created a new project and the browser window does not format properly (it's O.K. for previously created projects). The effects window is also not displaying properly.
Help! My browser window is suddenly not formatting properly. (losing browser formatting, glitch, bug) I'm using FCP 7 on an iMac with OS X 10.8.5 and have been successfully doing so for a couple of years. I fear my Final Cut Pro is corrupt and I have to re-install. Anyone ever see this problem? Old projects display and behave fine in the browser, but any new project I create, totally loses the formatting in the browser and the browser also does not display the "effects" window properly anymore. (see below)

If you have your catalog and photos on an external drive that you can swap between the various computers, then you could use any of the up-to-four to work with your photos. You could also have as separate catalog on each of the up-to-four computers, but then syncing would get complicated if you try to do that on more than one LR catalog, I think, though I could be wrong, because I only use LR Mobile with one catalog, currently. -
Been using an ipad 2 without passcode for quite some time. While upgrading to ios 7, I enabled Find Iphone on the Ipad. It asked for passcode and I gave one. Now I forgot it. Connected it iTunes (on my windows 8 system) with which I sync and that too required an update as old version of itunes cannot read ios7. Problem is itunes does not want to get updated. Some vague error on not having right to write a file in ProgramData folder wheras as an admin i have full rights. Next I downloaded the install file from itunes site - no luck it would not install. Then I tried to remove itunes - it does not want to go. Am at wits end... Is the option only to restore it as a new Ipad?
Place the iPhone into recovery mode and restore the iPhone with iTunes on your computer.

I have 3 computers...Window PC, PowerBook G3 (old) and MacBook Pro. I use firefox for all of them and have for quite some time. Is there a way for them all to use the same toolbar? Each of them have differnet bookmark/ settings etc.,
Open Media Encoder and add your Sequences:
File > Add Premiere Pro Sequence
Navigate to your Premiere Project and select it in the list.
You can then select multiple Sequences from the Project (Ctrl+Click)
and load them all at once into Media Encoder and apply
the same encoding preset to all Sequences at the same time. -

Have searched Forums for quite some time now. Cannot find a correct answer to: how do I prevent my old email address from appearing as the "from:" address when I use a "send this" link on a webpage/news article. The email window opens and automatically inserts my old Hotmail address instead of the Yahoo address I've used for a long time. (The drop-down won't let me change it or delete it.) Thanks.
Do you get a drop down list with suggestions if you clear that "from" field and click elsewhere on that page to move the focus off that field and then double-click again in that field or start typing the first letters of that unwanted email address?
Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop down list:
#Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
#Highlight an entry in the drop down list
#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Ipad receiving emails but they do not come on to the mac for quite some time
Hi My Ipad is receiving my emails, the alert sounds, but the Mac doesn't receive them for quite some time after, is there a reason for this and how can I overcome the problem.I've just sent two emails and the response to both are on the Ipad, which is next to my computer, and I can see the Mac isn't showing anything in my inbox!!!!

RichardHi Thanks to everyone for their help, I've checked what has been advised, for some unknown reason both Ipad ans Mac receiving emails at the same time. I do apply rules to my incomming mail, due to the fact of persistent male medical tablets advice !!!!!! from certain sites and also people needing money! Idid check there and deleted the last rule, whether something I did in that particular rule gave this problem I will never know. Do you think adding rules in mail preferences is the correct way to stop unwanted mail or is there a better way?

I have installed hydra express plugin for Aperture many time with no success
I have installed hydra express plugin for Aperture many time with no success. When I select edit with plugin hydra, the make an HDR image with hydra appears. When I hit the process button a message states that hydra is not found. I have checked in my application support folder. There is no plugin folder for aperture or a hydra plugin.
Any help would be appreciated.Plug-ins get installed in one of two locations.

The second is for all users of the machine and is located in the root folder of your system drive (often "Macintosh HD").
The first is your private library (note the ~ symbol which a shortcut to your user folder) and means the plugin is just for you. ~/Library is hidden by default so finder wont see it. To see it in Finder, use the menu "Go->Go to folder" and type in ~/Library as the folder name. Then you can natigate to /Application Support/ etc....
That should help you determine if it's installed. Note, you may only find an alias in the plug-in folder and the programs may actually be stored elsewhere. Also, if the Plugin can be used for export as well as edit, it might be located in /Plug-Ins rather than /Plug-Ins/Edit
In terms of why it isn't working, I think I may have a clue to what's going on. Sometimes plugins use utilitly shell commands that get distributed with the plugin. These can get quarantined by Macs Gatekeep security because they are not signed by a 'valid' developer.
I've recently taken on the task of making the old Enfuse plugin compatible with the latest version of Aperture, and ran into this gatekeep quarantine issue. I got around it by de-quarantine the required commands and got the plugin working.
For distribution, I've put an AppleScript together which installs the plugin and takes care of the quarantine issue, but I am just (literally today) tesing that on a different machine to make sure it works the same as it does on mine.
If you can first confirm that hydra is installed in one of the above locations, I'll then talk you through how to check if there is a quarantine issue with it.

Hi Apple! I am having a few problems with my 6 month old iPad mini (ios 7.1.1). I am using my iPad and then some time later it just restars! Don't know why and it just keeps doing it! Please fix or if I restore my iPad will it do any good? Thank you
Plug your iPad into your computer, open iTunes, and click Restore. This will reset your iPad to factory settings, so make sure everything important is stored safely. Once the restore is complete, do NOT restore from your backup.
If you still have problems, take the iPad to the Apple Store or another AASP (Apple Authorised Service Provider). If you're still within warranty, any service will be of no cost. Check your serial number here or find your receipt.

I have been successfully synching my iphone and pc using outlook for some time, using the icloud. suddenly, events entered on my iphone, although they are transferred to the icloud, do not appear on my outlook calendar on my pc. Entering events on my pc does add them to the icloud and my iphone. Is there a setting that I may have changed that would allow the icloud to add iphone items to the outlook calendar?
I finally got it to work.
mjbart, here are the steps I took in Win7 to fix everything. (All has been working perfectly now for several days).
I went to the iCloud Control Panel on Win7 and signed out. That asked me if I "wanted to keep a copy of my iCloud Contacts, calendars, and tasks?".
I responded by clicking on the "Delete from Computer" button, which then advised that I would lose my Contact Groups if I continued, so I then clicked on the "Save Contact Groups" button.
After all the dust settled, I then Signed back into iCloud via the Winndows Control Panel and checked the Contacts and Calendars boxes.
After a few moments all devices were properly synced and synchronizing.
So far so good. Hope this works for others! -

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

This question has been on my mind for quite some time...
I've been an avid user of iTunes for nearly a year now, and I used it even before I purchased my new Mac.
This has been bugging me like a piece of gum stuck to my shoe, so I have to ask: Sporatically and erratically, when I drag albums, artists, or songs to a specific playlists, iTunes will automatically start playing the first song from the dragged artist/album or the song itself. I HATE this. I don't know why it happens so randomly, too. I can add/delete all I want for hours on end and it won't happen - other times, it happens nearly everytime I add a new album/artist/song to a playlist. It wouldn't be annoying, except that I'm always listening to some other music on iTunes at the time, and thus when iTunes starts playing another song from my dragged selection, it HIGHLY annoys me.
I've looked in the preferences window and can't find an option of any sort that can help me. What do I want, or rather, don't want? I don't want iTunes to start playing a song from a dragged selection when I add it to a playlist. I want it to avoid that. Am I out of luck as far as controlling this erratic beast? I've only used Macs since June of this year and I do not remember this happening with my horrible Windows version of iTunes at all.
Please help.What version of iTunes? In 6.0.1, you can go to iTunes/preferences/advanced/importing and uncheck "play songs while importing". It will be slightly different with earlier versions of iTunes, but the wording should be similar enough.

I am running windows 7 I had to recover my files from an external hard drive when my old computer crashed. I have created a new profiles as outlined in the firefox website and copied all the files into it. I just need to know how to use this new profile when I open firefox, do I just delete the old profile? Or do I have to reinstall firefox.
If you no longer need or intent to use that older profile then you can use the Profile Manager to remove that profile and delete the files.

Hello, my phone was being slow so i turned it off. when i went to turn it back on it did the usually white apple logo but it has been on that logo for 15 or more minutes now what do i do?
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
