I've bought quicktime pro, entered the registration code but am directed to buy quicktime pro again. Quicktime 7 is showing 'Pro' after I enter registration under 'Registration'. I have an email receipt from Apple store saying it is purchased. Yet when I try to use the Pro features they are greyed out. Ripped off?

Are you pressing the "RETURN" key to enter the registered information or the "TAB" key? "Pro" registration instructions clearly state that the "TAB" key must be used. If you used the "TAB" key to register the "Pro" key information and the "Pro" features are still grey, do you actually have a file loaded in a player window. I.e., the "Pro" features cannot be accessed if a file has not been opened in the application since they are context adaptive and, as QT Kirk pointed out, must be able to "see" the type of file you wish to edit since the features available may depend on which type of file you are trying to edit.

And just what sort of changes in "appearance" did you expect?
If you can access the editing, conversion, and/or properties options once a file is loaded then the QT 7 app has been upgreaded for "Pro" use. -
I have purchased Quicktime Pro and entered the registration code. It indicates at it has been installed, but it does not run. Any suggestions?
The trim to selection function is available and it appears to be working. For now, I seem to be operable as Pro even though the header doesn't say so. Thanks.

Hmmm. I'm more used to dealing with this sort of thing on Vista and 7 systems ... and it can also be a bit easier to implement workarounds on Vista and 7 than it is on XP. But we can try some basic principles troubleshooting if you're game.

In My Computer open Local Disk C:\ or whichever drive you've got your program files installed on.
Open the "Program files" folder.

everytime I open qt pro i have to enter the registration code. This is really annoying. Does anyone know how to rectify this problem?

How do I reinstall Quick Time Pro for the second time if I no longer have the original email even though I have the registration code??
My PC died and I want to reinstall on a new PC.Download and install the "free" version of QuickTime Player from Apple.
Under its Edit menu choose Preferences / Registration and enter your info. This "unlocks" the Pro features found in the free download. -

After entering my name and registration code, I press tab as instructed and nothing happens. Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Not much will happen that would be obvious. If the Pro labels have gone from the menu items, then your key is correctly registered and you should be good to go.

I have followed the clear instructions to enter the purchased key code for QuickTime Pro 7. There are two options offered:-
1. Go into Preferences and select the QuickTime Player icon and enter the code that way.
2. Open QuickTime Player and open up ‘registration’ and enter the key code.
For whatever reason I have neither option available to me although QuickTime player is on my system and I use it regularly. It is version 10 build (118). I have run software updates and there is no upgrade available. I have downloaded the latest version and tried to load it but this fails because the system finds a version already available. I have attempted to uninstall but whilst it moves it from the Application folder, it remains on the Mac as it is part of the system files. So I cannot use the Pro version. The iMac is a 27” Intel about a year old and has all the software updates available to me installed.
Any offers for suggestions or past experiences that can help me overcome this conundrum?Both answers were spot on. I made the mistake yesterday of downloading the version for Leopard in my haste. I also thought the issue was related to having to uninstall the current version X.
So the moral of the episode is check the version you have and make certain you download the correct version for your system. All works now.

I purchase my QuickTime 7 Pro registration key via a friend in USA as it was not available to residents in South Africa. I now have a new iMac and the registration code doesn't want to activate PRO. It works fine on my MacBook Pro. Do I have to buy a new registration code for my newiMac?
i'm in SA and it say Apple Support not available at the moment or something like that.
Just got the new iMac.
Still using MacBook Pro.
Files are on a external drive shared between these 2 mac platforms and I need to be able to
edit in QT 7 Pro on both as well.

Hello everybody. I am trying to reinstall my Quicktime 7 Pro after having my MacBook OSX 10.5.8 cleaned out following a hacking. I have Quicktime player and I reregistered with the purchased registration code for Quicktime 7 pro. It seems to be successfully registered with "Quicktime 7 Pro" appearing under the inserted registration code but it is not showing in Applications folder and I do not know how to access it or what to do. I can only find the link to something like an extended version. So how do I have to proceed , where can I find the proper link. My system has W 8.1 32 Bit.

As above, when I enter the redemption code on the box containing my copy of photoshop elemets 10, I am informed it is "not active". I have contacted the vendor who says he has not had the problem before but so far has not helped me. How do I get a serial number so that I can download the programme from my CDs? The plastic over the redemption code on the box looked Ok and not touched. Help. Ian <Removed by Moderator>

If you registered the product with Adobe (Version 12 and 13 required mandatory registration) then the correct serial number must be recorded in your Adobe account. You can login and check there and also copy and paste the number to avoid any mistakes in reading the numbers.
