  • Change primary account email address?

    Is it possible to take a newly created sub account and make it the primary account email address? If so would this carry over to other linked services (ie Flickr) so I could delete the original primary email address

    Clarifying on Andy:
    Flickr maintains its own database to login. It only uses the email to communicate and update you. Once you 'll get your primary email changed in BT, you can maintain the same on flickr thereafter.
    Note: Changing your primary email address on Flickr will not change your Yahoo! log in.

    Sorry, but I'm going to question this again. The only way a BTinternet user can have a flickr pro account is by the association with their Broadband email address (either primary or sub account). Using any other email address (e.g. payg) will get the user a very limited Flickr account.
    Unless the primary email address already in use by Stuart is converted to a sub account, then it is likely to cause problems and effectively stop them being a pro user.
    The link you quoted has nothing to do with altering the user's Flickr status which is actually in question here.
    Now - I am not saying that you are wrong, to me it just doesn't add up with the info I am aware about with regard Flickr pro accounts.

    Is there a way I can delete my primary @me email address so that I can receive emails only via my "reserved" @icloud address. eg. delete "msjones@me" and receive emails via "msjones@icloud" only.The reason being, I receive a fair bit of spam to my @me address. Going forward I plan on using an alias for certain websites to minimise this problem.

    You can't delete the address, but you can set up a Rule to move messages to that address to the Trash or another folder. Go to http://icloud.com and go to the Mail page, click the cogwheel icon at top right and choose 'Rules'.
    It's a bad idea to post your email address - it's an invitation to spam - even though in fact you haven't posted them in full; I've asked the hosts to remove them.

  • HT204053 I have changed my Apple ID due to cancellation of my old email address. Now I can't download updates for apps under old ID. Why, when all settings have been changed on all my devices & in iTunes.

    Why after changing my apple Id can I not down load updates to my devices. I've changed all settings to new Id & even tried to do updates through iTunes but keeps referring back to previous Id which had to be cancelled due to email address change. Please help me find a solution to this problem. thanks.

    Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in with the new ID.  However, app updates for your apps purchased with your older ID will always ask for the password for this ID.  (Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them.)

  • No Primary BT Email address.

    Hi,
    I am a brand new customer and although my broadband is working fine Im currently trying to get 3rd party smtp working and from reading around it seems Im going to need to use my BT email address ....
    The problem is - I dont have a Primary BT Email, one hasnt been provided to me when I was set up or my service activated?
    How do I find out what it is or get one set up?
    When I log in to MyBT and try to navigate to the email tab I receive the message ...
    "Sorry
    There isn't a BT Yahoo! Mail service associated with the username/email address you've entered."
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    When you login to MYBT, using your BTID, is there an email address in the blue box near the top right, with a little man on it, your BT account number, and the logout/edit account links? Is it a BT email address? That is the "contact" address for your BTID that you logged in with.
    It may or may not be the same as the email address in your BTID username.
    Neither of those two addresses HAVE to be BT ones, but they usually are. ( I have a btinternet.com address for my BTID contact address, but a NON BT address for the BTID username.)
    You can also check by clicking on the "edit account" link in that blue box, and seeing what is recorded there. It should show the email address you used for your BTID username.
    If any of those are btinternet.com addresses then can you access them?
    As for the error message you are seeing about not having any BTYahoo email addresses- I wouldn't worry too much about it. I get one of those too, even though I have 11 BTYahoo addresses associated with my account. It's a glitch in the system. You shouldn't be getting that error message, you should be taken to your BTMail straight away.
    When you login to MYBT, what is shown in the Email box near the bottom of the page for your services - does it say you have BTMail assocciated with ** addresses and give you a Manage Email button or does it say BTYahoo addresses. If you are a very new customer it should say BTMail and that Manage Email button shoulld take you to BTMail.
    The important thing is what happens when you put a btinternet address and password into this box here
    https://signin1.bt.com/login/emailloginform
    I would advise trying that link after you have cleared your cookies and at the beginning of a new browser session having just logged into bt.com using your BTID.
    If it fails, then try it again after logging OUT of MYBT, clearing your cookies again, going to
    https://signin1.bt.com/login/emailloginform
    again, and trying the email address and password.
    Once you have established that you have an official btinternet.com address, then come back and work on the 3rd party smtp thing again.

  • Switch primary icloud email address on iPhone 6 - I have 2 email addresses, one of which is obsolete.  Each has its own apple id, icloud account and itunes account.  the phone shows the obsolete one as primary in iCloud.  Can I switch it?

    I have 2 email addresses (and apple ids, icloud accounts and iTunes accounts).  One is obsolete but my iPhone 6 shows it as primary.  How to I change this?

    See: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
    If that doesn't resolve it contact Apple Account Security: Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security - Apple Support Or call the main Apple support number for your country and ask for the Account Security Team.

  • Changed my primary iCloud email address; old email stuck on iPad

    I recently changed the primary email address & password on my company's iCloud account. Now when I use our iPad's the older email address is reflected on the iCloud account in settings. When I try to delete/signout of iCloud or when the "Enter Your iCloud Password" pop-up appears neither the old or the new iCloud passwords will work.
    How can I update my email for the iCloud account on my iPads?

    If your device is signed into an old iCloud ID that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
    If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
    Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • Changing primary .mac email address on my Apple ID

    Hi,
    I have very weird situation.
    I have [email protected] and [email protected]
    I believe both of the emails became somehow linked when moving from .mac to mobile me and then to iCloud.
    And what's even more weird is that when I log in to appleid.apple.com it shows me that my appleID and primary email address is [email protected] Regardless if I login as [email protected] or [email protected]
    The problem is that [email protected] is not working. It's totally dead. Mail server responds
    +++
    5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias:[email protected]
    +++
    when one tries to send email to this address.
    How can I change the primary email address to [email protected]
    How can I get rid of this @mac address?!
    I want to forget it, I don't need it.
    I tried to follow what is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE68
    It says that I need to click "Edit next to your Apple ID".
    But I simply don't have any 'Edit' button there.
    And the worse thing is that all notifications are sent to [email protected]..
    Purchases in iTS and etc...
    And I am not getting them!
    Thank you in advance!
    Sergey.

    Oh, my God, I am genius!
    Here is the solution:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16373930#16373930
    In few words:
    1. go to store.apple.com and make sure that the country selected is your country (store.apple.com/ca for me);
    2. click on the 'account' button there (top right corner);
    3. log in;
    4. go to account home page;
    5. click on 'change default billing and shipment' link;
    6. update your email address in billing info pane;
    7. profit!
    Now when I go to appleid.apple.com it shows that my apple id is still [email protected] (Gosh!), but primary email is [email protected] Voila!
    Thanks to all for answering ;-)

  • Using Spiceworks Help Desk with mixed primary smtp email address users

    Hello, our current spiceworks help desk environment is configured for ourone domain (we'll call it domain1.com). Everything with help desk works as expected with this domain. We have recentlypurchased a second domain (domain2.com) and configured a few of our users to use domain2.com as their primary email address. They are still using their original AD account, we just chose domain2.com as the primary smtp address.When these users try to create a trouble ticket, spiceworks seems to not recognize them and will not let them create a new ticket. Normally our users are automatically logged in when the go to the help desk portal, with the domain2.com email users spiceworksprompts for theirusername and password.When they enter it in it says that their account has not been activated yet. Is there anything I can do to get around this?Thank...

  • Detect cancelled emial from spcific email address then update database

    I have an asp.net application which creates an appointment in users calendar after they click a link button on a gridview. the appointments are created using a specific email ([email protected]) using EWS.
    What i want  to do now is  that when a users cancels the appointment it must connect to my application or  the  database and call an update method.
    where do i begin with this

    One method would be to use EWS notifications on the Calendar Folder see
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dn458791(v=exchg.150).aspx and
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dn424761(v=exchg.150).aspx . Or just Sync or poll that calendar at regular intervals to try and detect the deletion yourself.

  • Transferring primary email address from one account to another account. Possible?

    Hi, I created my email address back in 2001 while still living with my parents. Since it was the first address to be created on the account, it has become the primary account address. Since then, I have used this email address for EVERYTHING. Credit cards, online subscriptions, social media, multiple websites that I operate... it is now a deeply-rooted part of my online presence.
    However, I moved out and opened my own Comcast internet account in 2005, complete with a new primary email address. This hasn't been an issue, as my parents have stayed in the same place since then, and continued using the same Comcast account.
    The problem now is that they are preparing to move in a few months, and their Comcast account will be cancelled (and my precious email address with it!) I'm hoping there is a way to move my old email (the primary email address on my parents' account) over to my current account. I have not yet contacted Comcast customer support, as I don't want to accidentally have one or both of the accounts involved cancelled!
    I suppose what I hope to learn here is what I would need to do to make this switch happen. Who should I call (I've read that the basic Comcast customer service line may not be able to do much for me...)?

    For this the account holder of the email will have to contact us to submit a transfer of email to a new account. If the names are different on each account, one of our advance techs will later call back and get both account owners on the line in order to authorize the switch. It can be done, but the whole process can take 3-5 days to be completed. Once ticket is submitted by call center agent, it usually takes 24-48 hours for the advance techs to contact you. Let me know if you need any more details on this. -FC

  • What would happen if I were to delete the primary email address linked to my Apple ID?

    I wish to completely de-activate my @hotmail email address in order to be left with just my @icloud email address becuase I would find life more managable that way.
    I found out that I cannot change my primary @hotmail email address linked to my Apple ID with an @icloud email address as it is an active, separate Apple ID (in itself with a separate purchase / download history etc)...
    Also I am aware that separate Apple ID's cannot be merged together...
    My question is: "What would happen if I were to delete the primary email address linked to my Apple ID?"
    Would I be able to keep and use my purchases, provided they are backed up on my Mac and authorised?
    Would I be able to update those transferred purchases even though the email address linked to the apple ID in which the app was bought no longer exists?

    You can change the primary e-mail address associated with your Apple ID, so long as it isn't a mac, me or icloud email.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
    Your Apple ID account, regardless of the primary email, can never be 'deleted', just abandoned.
    You could always just switch between the two Apple IDs as needed, to access the different purchases.

  • My sister changed our primary apple ID email address and now it wont let me log into iTunes on my phone. How can I fix this?

    My sister changed our primary AppleID email address to her email so now I can't log into my iTunes account on my phone. I tired syncing my iphone to my mac and it wont even sync anymore. We share the same account. Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello Alexandra,
    Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with iCloud on your devices after updating your Apple ID.  I recommend the following steps:
    Symptoms
    iOS 7 may ask for the password to your previous Apple ID when you sign out of iCloud.
    Resolution
    1. Use your current Apple ID password
    Trying using your current Apple ID password. If that doesn't work, continue to the next step.
    2. Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
    If you are currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    If you are not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
    If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
    Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
    Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.

    I have used an incorrect email address for my Apple ID  when I punched an App. Cannot get updates. How do I delete and use my primary account email address?

    Delete and redownload that application when signed into the correct Apple ID. This may require repurchasing it.

  • Change Primary email address, delete Microsoft acc...

    I have a stupid Microsoft account which I never wanted in the first place but somehow was forced into it with my new Windows 8 laptop. I want to get rid of this email address. But first I need to remove all accounts associated with it. SO...I would like to change the primary email on my Skype. I managed to add a second email. Done. But whenever I try to change it to the primary, it says 'ooops that's not correct even though it is. I read on another thread that if you sign into Skype with a Microsoft account, you can never change it. Is this true? And if so, if I delete my whole Microsoft account somehow, will that delete my Skype? Thanks in advance for your help.
    P.S. If anyone knows how to contact a Skype official I would much appreciate it.

    Hi JT76
    Sorry you've had a bit of trouble getting this sorted out.  It can be done easily enough.
    I have had a look through our email system and can't see anything there from the address you registered on the forums with.
    Could you register a new sub account please with your correct name and I can then arrange for this to be promoted to your primary BT email address.
    Drop me an email in using the contact form posted above and I'll get arranged for you.
    Thx
