I've changed my apple ID on one device but didn't for the other. I now can no longer use that device because it keeps coming up with the 'sign in to iCloud' box, but as that id no longer exist it wont allow me to type in the password. HELP?!
Please help me. I got a new iphone and decided to change my apple Id, forgetting that I also use it for my Ipad. I then tried to get onto my iPad but it kept asking me to sign in, of course now that id is no longer in existance and it will not allow me to log out or change the Id with out typing in the password. I was wondering if someone could help me, i've tried changing my apple Id back, resetting my iPad and none of this has worked!!
Is this itunes on the iPad or on my computer? Thank you for the reply.

I cannot update my apps on my iPhone 3. I think it's because I've discovered I have 2 Apple ID's, the original one for iTunes from 2009, and another one I used more recently. I think I must have changed my Apple ID to the more recent email, but my iPhone does not accept any password for the new ID. I have tried changing back but cannot. I have reset passowrds on both ID's 6 or 7 times, but that does not work either. I read I cannot undo an Apple ID, so I have 2, but they are mixed up. Help?
Did you purchase or download the apps with your old ID? Apps are tied to the ID that is was purchased from.
If it is a new app you bought with your new ID, you can go into settings - appstore- apple id and then log out. -
Thanks for the responses. They have not resolved my issue...in fact now I can't even connect to any ITunes Store. Just getting an error message

I changed my Apple ID to my new email address successfully for the iTunes and App store but it won't work for iCloud and it won't recognize my password. I read that this can't be done. How am I supposed to get into iCloud? I plan on getting rid of my old email address which is my old Apple ID so how is that going to work?

Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. How do you update it? Basically what has happened my password was disabled for "security reasons" on sunday (21/10/12), so i tried to reset it, but for some reason i couldnt get into my old email (probably because i havent used it for 2 years), so i read on here i could swap it to a new email that i currently use (which is what i have done) ive swapped everythin over to it (facetime, iCloud etc) but keeps coming up with old email and asking for password

I would like to change my apple id to one of my alternate email addresses so therefore i would have to delete the alternate email address as an alternate email address and it says that if i do that it will permanently be deleted from my account so could i use that email address as my primary one?

For reasons not entirely clear to me I have ended up with two Apple ids, two iCloud accounts and my Apple devices being associated with one or the other iCloud account/Apple id. One of the complications is that my contacts are partially owned by one iCloud account, partially by the other.
Is there any way to
- merge the contacts (I have tried exporting from one and importing into the other but one set will overwrite the other)?
- migrate all devices to one single iCloud account without being locked out for 3 months?
- merge Apple ids or just delete one of them without locking out devices?
Grateful for any suggestions because this is turning into a headache.You can merge the contacts from one account with your other one without overwriting them. Sign into the first account, download them as vCard (iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard), email them to a device signed into the account you want to merge them with, tap the vCard and choose Add..., then Create New Contacts.
You can also migrate a copy of the data in one account and merge it with the other by signing into the account you are leaving, then signing out (or deleting the account if not running iOS 8), then choosing Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign into the other account and choose Merge when prompted. This won't move Notes however. If you are syncing notes that you want to migrate from the other account, you can temporarily add the account to your Mac as a secondary account by going to System Preferences>Internet Accounts (or Mail,Contacts,Calendars)>Add Account>iCloud and signing in with the other account ID. Then enable notes syncing in the secondary account. You will then be able to open the notes app and drag and drop notes from one account to the other. When you're done, delete the secondary account from your Mac.
You can't merge IDs as Apple does not allow it. Also, you won't be locked out of anything for 3 months. The "90-day switch" rule only applies to changing your iTunes store account, not your iCloud account. Just leave your iTunes store account as-is. The ID you use for the iTunes store does not have to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud. -
i have apps to be updated but when i try to update them a message pops out saying "You have updates for other accounts, please sigh in with the other id". Can some one help me how can i still update the same with the new apple id ive created. As i dont have the access to the earlier id anymore.
You cannot. The apps are assigned to that Apple ID and there is nothing you can do to change that. You could choose to download them again with the new Apple ID, any paid apps will need to be purchased again.

I changed my Apple ID a year ago when my old email address ceased. Now I can use my Apple ID ok, BUT when I tried to set up I-Cloud, my MacAir identifies me by the OLD ID, which means I can't proceed? I want to connect my MacAir and my Imac.

The problem is that my MacAir SYSTEM PREFERENCES somehow has NOT registered that I changed my Apple ID a year ago, ALTHOUGH I have been using the new one regularly on the same computer!!!
SO, when I go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES to try to sync my two devices, the MacAir will not allow me to use my current Apple ID.
The difficulties with using the old ID are:
1 The email address no longer exists!
2 I forget the password (obviously the prompt is no help since the email address is defunct! )
So, it seems I am in a perpetual loop. -
Recently updated the the apple tv remote app for my iPhone4. Now can no longer turn on the apple tv "box" on/off using iPhone app as I used to do before the update. Only thing that shows on iPhone screen is music library. Home Sharing is on. Any help appreciated. Sorry if this is not exactly the right place to post this!
One clue: I have found a reliable way to solve the problem when it happens.
In my network, I have the main Airport Extreme (Gen 1) which is connected to my router, which distributes IP addresses to my internal subnet. The other two AEs (one Gen 4, one Gen 5) are set to extend the network.
When I get this problem with an AppleTV 2 that can "see" my library, but when I try to open it, it says it couldn't find the library, it seems to have to do with a change in which Airport Extreme it's talking to.
If I restart the main Airport Extreme from the Airport Utility, effectively restarting the entire wireless network, then when the network resumes, every AppleTV 2 is happy again.
Unfortuntely, the problem does seem to recur - but I'm wondering if it's because temporary interference leads an AppleTV 2 to try to connect to a different AE, and somehow that's mucking with the Home Sharing. Remember, internet access (Trailers, Store, Netflix) have no issues. Purely Home Sharing.

According to your descriptioin, I don't think this is system problem, it should be Intel driver problem. It would be contact Intel to confirm this issue whether this is their driver problem.

What do you mean make folders? Like folders inside an application or accessing system folders? You can't do the latter. -
Need to change my Apple ID to a gmail address in preparation for a move outside the US. When I did this, it did not change in iCloud and I have not been able to determine how to change this ID in iCloud for either my Mac or iPad? I had to revert to my old ID which will not be any good in a few weeks. Does anyone know how to make the iCloud settings changes?

You can't close or delete accounts (you can only remove any personal info from them and stop using them), and you can't merge accounts or transfer purchases to another account - content will remain tied to the account that downloaded them.
