I've customized a slideshow and no longer see the "add" button to add slides. Can I still add new slides? How?

By customization what exactly you mean ? if you have applied states, effects etc to slideshow still add button should work. Or if you are using the slide show in some container.
Please provide more details.

I can log in to my wordpress site or rather I can get into the back end of my site but I can no longer see the edit button on Firefox

I use firefox 24 and it was working fine up until last weekend then I could no longer see the edit button on my wordpress site.
The thing is that I can get into my site via the site-wp-admin url as cookies allow me to do so but once I click on visit site then I cannot do anything because there are no edit buttons and not a log in button either so I do not even have the option of trying and failing or succeeding.
It is quite puzzling as it happened just recently.
I now have to use chrome to do all my editing since there is no problems on that browser

Let me start with the general advise...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

I no longer see the URL of any website so can't copy and past URLs into any emails, etc. Is there some setting to make URLs visible? when I updated, the URLs disappeared. I'm on a MacBook.

When I updated to the latest version of Firefox, the URLs disappeared so they are no longer visible at the top of the Firefox page. I can enter sites, but I can't copy and past the URLs anymore. Why can't I see the http://... info anymore? Is there some setting I changed or what might be the problem?

I add to change the e-mail settings for an account (server name changed) and mail is still flowing to and from the account. But all the mail in the IMAP folder is no longer showing in Thunderbird just mail that has come in and out since the change. How do I restore access to the IMAP folder, the account still uses IMAP.

With IMAP all mail is managed on the server. You therefore must not change the server of an existing account.
Restore the original server setting. Then create a new IMAP account for the new server.

Purchases are locked to the account that purchased them. Thus first try to recovery use of the original account.

Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Not only can i not see the individual chaptes -- apparently like you and everyone else suffering through the "improved" iOS7 -- when my audiobook repeats a "file" within chapter, which it sometimes does, I cannot get "inside" the chapter and move forward to where I'm supposed to be.

If you can't get dragging to work, just click on Safari from your Applications folder, and it should appear in the dock. Then you can right-click on the icon and PIN it permanently there.

Try double tapping with three fingers and see if that reduces the screen image. If it does, unlock the iPad and go to Settings>General>Accessibility>zoom>Off. If double tapping with three fingers doesn't work, try triple tapping the home button instead.
