I've done most I could think of, iTunes refuses to recognize 4 GB Nano

I have the constant "Do Not Connect" screen on my new 4GB Nano.
My wife previously used this computer for her iPod Mini. Before installing the new Nano, I removed iTunes from the computer. Then installed off the Nano's CD. I updated both iTunes and the iPod.
My computer recognizes the Nano as a "Removable Disk." iTunes, however, refuses to recognize it. I have loaded music into iTunes and that will play, but the Nano never works.
So, I unistalled iTunes, then reinstalled off the downloaded version that I saved to my desktop. Still no go.
Then I tried all the steps on iPod shows up in Windows, but not in iTunes -- to no avail.
So, I uninstalled and then reinstalled, without any success. I have reset the Nano several times. I have unplugged the Nano as well.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking about returning this on for another Nano, and then throwing in the towel.
By the way, I was able to intall another 4GB Nano on my wife's new computer with no problems. The other computer doesn't want to recognize my Nano either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow... the exact same thing has happened to me. First i bought a 2GB iPod Nano from Costco... installed perfectly and I had no problems. The next day I spotted the 4GB Nano and exchanged my 2GB for the 4GB (my sister also puchased and exanged one at the same time as me). My sister hasn't run the iPod software update, and her's works fine. I, meanwhile, installed it onto my iPod... now iTunes doesn't recognize my 4GB nano, and windows only recognizes it at a removable disk. I'm trying to rename the drive letter, but everytime i attempt ANYTHING to do with the nano my computer will freeze. Anyways, I took that one back to Costco and got another one. Yet, being absolutely stupid, I once again installed the update (this was when i thought the iPod was just faulty). I'm stuck in the exact same situation. Again. I've gone through 3 ipods in two days. So, the moral of the story is DON'T INSTALL THE NEW SOFTWARE ON 4GB NANOS! :'( ... Thanks for the warning Apple! Even your website is faulty!
P.S. Buy your iPods at Costco! They are amazing to their customers! (At least my location)

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. And here is a guide about how to copy iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

It all start when I purchased some coins for the Facebook game bejewelled & it's gone down hill from there.
First after putting my password I got a message telling me my purchase was unsuccessfull then was prompted to put my password in again which I did & a message flashed up for a second saying something about my purchase being successful but not downloaded but soon after my coins appeared so I didn't think much more of that. UNTIL I got emails showing my purchase, which would fine as nothing is free but I realised I had been invoice twice for the same purchase, so I panick think how can I can my money back, so I clicked on the report a problem highlight in blue & I'm transferred to iTunes, after a short while a message pops up telling me I can't connect to iTunes.
I've tried lots of different ways to fix this but had no joy, I can't seem to get onto iTunes to get any suport either but it's still letting purchase stuff & look & purchase music & apps though iTunes, I've reset my device & also plug into my laptop, checked all my settings on the device etc:-
I've ran out of ideas, CAN YOU HELP!;)

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

Hey everyone last night my Zen touch froze up on me while i was listening to it so i hit the little restart botton and i thought everything was cool until i tried to do anything in recovery mode first i tried to do the clean up but nothing happened so i went down to format all and a sign popped up saying harddisk problem so i went to reload firmware and again the sign popped up saying harddisk problem so i went to reboot and that worked but it put me right back in to recovery mode and i just want to get out of recovery mode and listen to my music i have tried everything someone plz HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hardware can be quite unpredictable at times. I ever bought a 20Gb hard disk and when I fix it on back at home, it just died. That is a case I never forget. Take back to shop and they do a on exchange. It is only for one day right out of the box fresh!!!! And sometimes the fault seem to be in that particular batch that is shipped in. So one got fault others all got the same fault.

Without knowing what you actually tried:
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

ITunes-iPhone Sync Waiting: Session Failed - Done everything I can think of!

Hey Guys here's the what we're dealing with:
iPhone 4S 64GB running iOS 5.0.1 (Latest)
Macbook Pro (Late 2008) 15" running Mac OS Lion 10.7.3 (Latest)
iTunes 10.5.3 (Latest)
Scenario:
(Previously unencountered issue until now)
iPhone plug into Macbook Pro to sync with iTunes AUTOMATICALLY/MANUALLY,
Sync session stuck on: "Waiting for sync to start"
Error message: "The iPhone "..." could not be synced because the sync session failed to start"
Attempted Fix and Known Facts:
Have tried syncing with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad with no success
Wireless syncing no success
Restarting and Resetting of iTunes, Computer, iPhone with no Success

I had figured it out that when i unchecked the "sync apps" box, and just sync my videos and music, everything turned out normal.
Have you jail breaked your iphone ?
Oh and I also found another solutions is that you open My Documents\My Music\iTunes, delete the Library.itl file. It will erase all of your apps and music. BUt you can download your stuffs back again.

Siri is wroking fine

I am experiencing exactly the same problem, today, and a reset, of all settings, did nothing to correct it. Any suggestions would be welcome. While dictation in all apps is out, Siri is working fine also.

If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

My airport extreme isnt connecting, i done all i could. its a windows new version

i recenlty moved and have to set up my airport extreme. I done all i could and still no succes.

Sorry but other than telling us you cannot get it to work.. you provided nothing.. no info whatsoever.
Not even what you have tried to fix it..
So.. plug the Extreme into a computer by ethernet.. no other connection.. reset it to factory and redo the setup.
Plug the Extreme then back into the modem by ethernet.. if the modem is a router then the TC is in bridge mode.. if the modem is pure modem then the TC has to be router mode.
Do not setup by wireless.. it is near impossible.
Once you have it all plugged back together if it doesn't work.. turn off everything. Then start again in correct order.. modem.. AEBS.. clients. If you have cable internet the modem may need to be off for 15min or more to reset.
If you have trouble still.
Modem.. type model brand. Type of internet, ISP ????????
AEBS, how old, what firmware. what setup ?????????
Computer, what OS, what airport utility, using wireless or ethernet ????????
