I've downloaded facetime and tried to contact my friend on her ipad via her email address but I can't connect. Nothing comes up when I click on her name. What am I doing wrong?

I found a post with the answer. Basically I just logged out of the iCloud. My concern was that I would loose my contacts. But when i logged back in with the correct AppleID -- it was all there.

I got my ipad2 but it won't synch to my itunes with all my iphone4 apps that is on my win7 desktop. The iphone4 synchs effortlessely.
I have downloaded itunes to a Vista laptop and the ipad2 synchs without a problem but there are no apps and the laptop isn't mine.
What isn't working with the ipad2 and my win7 system.
I'm stuck.i am having the same issue. after spending 40 mins on the phone with apple support yesterday (she was very nice and one of the best tech calls i have made over the years) it could come down to the fact i was using a third party cable,will go and buy an apple one and see if that helps. if it does ill let you know.

Is your MacBook Pro early 2011 or newer. If not that is whay you cannot mirror and a third party app called airparrot would help.

I'm trying to make a photo cd on iphoto. Each time it stops with this message "Operation could not be completed (OSStatus error - 9459).
What am I doing wrong?By photo CD do you mean you're trying to burn image files to a CD disk from iPhoto? How are you going about this?

When I purchased my I-phone 4 several years ago, our email service provider was Everest. We no longer use Everest and I can no longer access that email address, but my I-phone is still attached to that email address, so I can not unlock this I-phone. I have purchased a new I-phone and the same email address transferred to it when the information was transferred from my old phone to my new one. In order to trade my old phone in for the new one, I must be able to unlock the old phone, which I have been unable to do since the old email address is not available to me. Please help.
Having the email address is not necessary. It is just the username for the device. All you need is that Apple ID and password. Now, if you forgotten the password, then you have more work to do. Since that email is no longer active, you would need to send the reset to your rescue email, if you remember that. Or you will need to contact Apple Security for help. I got a new email address and I reset the iPod so it already has the new address. I can't seem to change the address on my iPhone5 or iPad. So please help! How do I change the address for my apple ID and icloud on all my devices? I don't want to reset my iPad and phone just to set new email address I can't do updates without the password and I have forgotten my password for my old email address. Please Help! Getting frustarted!
If the old ID ("email address") is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Not all accounts can add names what am i doing wrong?
My iMac has 3 accounts but it appears that only the account with administrator rights can add names to photos. All photos are in the shared folder so this doesnt make sense to me.
I will openly admit that I am a complete noob, I have only owned a MAC for 2 weeks...
On the other accounts - it lets you waste your time inserting names to faces but as we discovered after several hours.... it didnt save any of them. Admin account is 100% fine...

But where are the Libraries? Are you sharing the Photo files? Or sharing the iPhoto Library?
OS X works rather hard to keep each user's data away from the other's. IF you want users to be able to share the photos, then using the Shared Folder is quite good, but they will have separate Libraries with separate database and so on.
If you want to share the Library, that's a different matter.
What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc. The problem here is that OS X works very hard to keep your data safe and secure from the other users. You're trying to beat what's built in to the system. So, to beat the system
Quit iPhoto in both accounts
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to an external HD set to ignore permissions. You could also use a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.
In each account in turn: Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue, select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new library location. From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
Alternatively: If you’re comfortable in the Terminal, and understand File Permissions, ACL’s etc., some folks have reported success using the process outlined here . (Note this page refers to 10.4, but it should also work on 10.5). If you’re not comfortable with the terminal, and don’t know an ACL from the ACLU, then you’re best doing something else... Oh, and the warning about simultaneous users still applies.
Lastly: This method seems a little clunky at first, but works very well. Most importantly, it uses the System to do the job for you.
Create a new Account on your Mac, call it Media. Create an iPhoto Library there. (BTW: This will work for iTunes too.)
Enable Sharing on the Library:(Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other accounts. In those accounts, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. The Library will appear in the other source pane.
This means that both users will be able to see the pics. If you want to use a pic then simply drag it from the shared Library to your own in the iPhoto Window. This means that each user can have their own edits.
If you want to add photos to the Library: Log into the Media account for that purpose.
To make it all seamless: Set your Mac to log into the Media Account automatically. Set iPhoto to launch on log-in. Then switch to your own account using Fast User Switching.
Net result: a Library that's permanently available to all users but also protected. Each user can have their own versions of the pics if they want.
No partitioning, no permissions issues. Uses no extra disk space. What's not to like?

Hi - I'm trying to register for an iCloud account (I've just had a baby and am terrified I'm going to lose all my photos of him!) but when I try and register, it tells me it needs an email address so I go to edit my username and try and amend it so my email address and username are the same thing but nothing is happening. I keep going round in circles - can someone help?!

I Have updated IPad to IOS 7.1.1, and also updated Adobe Reader to ver. 11.3.1. When I click on the Adobe icon, I get no files or folders to come up, just a blank screen. I know from my usage indicator on the IPad that I have 36 GB of PDF files resident, which I expected, but how do I access them. I had updated from IOS 5 because Adobe was crashing so often that it made it difficult to work.
If restarting the app or your iPad/iPhone does not work, we are not aware of any other ways to fix this particular problem. Uninstalling & reinstalling Adobe Reader may be the only option left. It will clean up the "inconsistent" application data. But it is not even guaranteed to fix the problem.
If you uninstall Adobe Reader (or any other iOS apps), iOS will erase all of the application data including settings/preferences and PDF documents stored locally on your iPad/iPhone.
We'd highly recommend backing up your PDF documents regularly (not just this time) so that you do not lose them when something goes wrong.
How to backup and restore PDF documents on your iPad/iPhone using iTunes
Backup your PDF documents.
Uninstall Adobe Reader.
Download and reinstall Adobe Reader from the App Store.
Alternatively, you can store your PDF documents in cloud storage (e.g. Acrobat.com, Dropbox, Google Drive), which will eliminate the need to backup local files.

Please give advice of how can i change my Apple ID (email address) as it is wrong address. Like i just update my iPhone to latest version 6.0, and get the new app, iCloud which need me to key in my Apple ID and Password. I have no choice to use the wrong email address as it is already registerd since from 1st day i use my iPhone. How can i solve this problem?You may change your Apple ID to any email address that is not already used as another Apple ID, or that is not already associated with another Apple ID.
In other words, if I have an Apple ID [email protected], and have alternate email addresses of [email protected] and [email protected], none of them may be used by me or anyone else for an Apple ID, Rescue Email, alternate email, or anything Apple-related.
If the Apple ID link above indicates your email is already in use then it is. Use https://iforgot.apple.com, select Forgot your Apple ID? and provide the information requested. If the email address is one you created and can still access, you may be able to retrieve it. If it is one someone else created, you will not. -
