Then you will need the password for the old account in order to update the app.
apps are tied to the apple id that was used to purchase the app.

Purchased Audition but can't figure out how to download/install

Recently bought a single app, monthly subscription to CC for Adobe Audition, but I can't figure out how to download and install it.
I see the purchase order confirmed, but the app isn't showing up in 'my products' or subscriptions, and the only option I have is to download the trial version.
What am I missing?

Try a reset and see if it appears after the iPad has restarted (other people have had the same problem with iBooks in the past) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Purchased subscription but can't access features

I purchased a monthly subscription to Acrobat Pro. I paid.
Then, I downloaded the product. However, it opened and said "start your free trial."
So it appears I am only in a free trial mode.
I can't access many Pro features, such as "Tools" and "Preflight."
This is annoying. Please help.

There's no difference between the trial version and the full except for the number of days of usage. The trial is good for 30 days.
Since you have purchased the subscription, you can license the trial software by entering your Adobe ID.
The subscription is linked to your Adobe ID.

I downloaded the upgrade and an icon was just on the dock but if i click on it , it doesn't do anything, is it downloading ok or do i need to do something else?

The download takes quite a while. You should see a progress bar under the Apps Store application.
When it is fully downloaded a window should open asking you if you want to install now.

Can't update apps but can download them; doesn't accept (valid) virtual CC. What to do?

I can download new apps but can't update the existing ones. What happens when I press "Update all" is the following:
App Store asks me for the password, it recognizes it as valid, the icon of the apps change from "Update" to that circle that should eventually fill up, but then all icons convert back to "Update".
I don't have a payment method associated with my account (I used to have one). When I try updating my account with the information of a (valid) virtual CC, it rejects the card even though virtual CCs have worked perfectly well before.
I have this problem both with the iOS App Store and the Mac App Store.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

Is there a way to hide apps from the app store? I don't want my kids to see those "free" apps that nag you to spend real money and download their other apps! I can hide them from "purchased apps", but they still show up when browsing for new apps!

Not other than parental oversight. On the computer you can implement Parental Controls on a separate user account that they would use. You can then block certain websites. But you cannot do that on the iPad.
You could change your iTunes account such that they cannot access it in order to buy or download apps.
