I've forgotten my keychain password, what now?

I'm using a 2009 macbook air, and have had problems recently as I cant remember my keychain password.
I can use the device under normal conditions, but occasionally I am prompted to enter the login keychain pw, but when I try what I thought was it it's rejected. Any suggestion greatfully received, thanks.

I thought so too, but Im using the admion pw without success.
I can operate on my main account, but when I try to log into secondary accounts (for work, volunteer groups, etc) the keychain window pops up repeatedly asking for the keychain pw.
I dont recall changing the pw at any time, but I may have done so.
I have tried the option of creatinga new keychain pw, but the same thing happens.
I'm lost.

Keychain is an Apple technology dating back to OS9 that saves commonly-used passwords for web sites, your email, etc. It matches the web site or applcaiotn to waht's stord and reloads the password to save re-entering it all the time.
What are you doing when the computer asks for a keychain password? Usually you can access the Keychain Utility's stored info using your administrative password.
It would help if we knew your Mac OS version. "iOS 6.1.2" in your profile is not a computer OS, but used only for iDevices. Doing "About this Mac" from your Apple menu wil show your actual Mac OS version. Once you have it, you should change your profile to match that--it will get you faster help for future questions.
If you let us know the OS version, we can get you moved to the forum for that version, where you should get faster help with Keychain issues. This forum--although it's hard to tell from the unfortunate choice of labels--is for iMacs made before 2006 and doesn;t get as much traffice as forums for newer Mac models.

Do you need to sign into Mobile Me to recover your images? Then go to the page: "How to find your Apple ID password" and reset the password for the Apple ID that you used with MobileMe.
But if you only want to dismiss the "Mobile Me has ended" warning alert, then press the "Learn more" button when this panel is shown, after you lauch iPhoto and then open the iPhoto "Preferences > Accounts" panel. Remove Mobile Me from the list of accounts.
Afterwards open the System Preferences Mobile Me panel and sign out of Mobile Me.
If this does not work, you may have to retry it after disconnecting from the Internet and launching iPhoto without an Internet connection.

MacBook Air suddenly doesn't recognize my keychain passwords. Now iCloud, Safari and anything associated (including Systems Preferences) won't work. Plz help - any ideas?

The only thing I can think that I've done differently is that I'd downloaded a scanner driver from Canon. Everything worked fine for days after that. It wasn't until I shut down the computer and restarted it that I keep getting these prompts to enter keychain passwords and it rejects the only passwords I've ever used. No idea what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :-)

My guess is all the issues are probably related and fall back to malware.
AVG is probably correct in identifying malware. So I suggest you try some cleaning tools other than Emsisoft .
ones I use (all of them one after the other until I find one that can cope) are;

Malwarebytes anti malware Free http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/var2/confirm/
ESET online scanner http://www.eset.com/int/home/products/online-scanner/
So first create a clean boot in Windows using Microsoft's instructions https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135?wa=wsignin1.0 and then run the anti malware applications.
My outside looking in guess is that malware has set itself up as an internet proxy and is is downloading copies of itself and other malware, blocking some mail port as times as downloading more malware is more important, and probably breaking your tivo as well..
Try the malware programs first. If that does not work I will try and talk you through some logging to see what is happening.

If you don't know the keychain password, the only way to reset it is to delete the old keychain and create a new one. See the instructions in Keychain Access Help.
