I've got a mistake on Genius Playlist, anything to do?

Some time ago, there were six Genius Playlist… after erasing some Pop songs, there are just four, and there are two "Mezcla de Electrónica" (as you see, my language is Spanish). One of the is ok; but the other shows not electronic but Pop and Latin music...
I miss "Soundtrack Genius Playlist, it disappeared even when I haven't erased any of its songs...
I'd like to tell Apple there is this bug, but i don't know where.
I appreciate your help.

It's been solved but going back to wrong genius playlist names, after addig or erasing albums...
first, proper "pop Latino" and "electrónica mainstream" named...
Then, both were named "dance/pop latino"...
And now, again I have two "pop latino" playlists....
Nothing to do, just waiting for it to be solved.

How can I have both genius playlist and regular playlist on my new 160g ipod classic. The list of songs are there, but when I click playlist, I only get the genius playlists.

This was not a simple task. Got it handled. Had to call Apple support. Apparently, the 160g only syncs the genius playlist. You have to go in and "tell it" to sync the entire playlist as well as the genius playlists. There is also an option for only syscing certain songs. On itunes, there is two sections; one for the stuff that is synced on your ipod and another separate list for the stuff in your library! This is exciting for me as I am not computer savvy to say the least.

Genius Playlists on iPad

I have recently noticed that there are about 8 or so Genius Playlists on my iPad without me ever having created them. I haven't turned on Genius, nor iTunes Match and would like to know why they got on there and how I can delete them.

I had the same problem and I will try to share with you what I did to get rid of them - if I can remember . Bear with me.
Tap on one of the playlists and then tap Edit in the next window. After that tap Save. Then go back to the Playlists tab and hold down on the icon and the X to delete should pop up.
I know it was some combination of choosing Edit and then Save. Maybe my sequence isn't correct but give it a try and see what happens

HT2978 Genius playlist on iPhone 5s

I just switched from a iPhone 5 to a 5s. I can't make a genius playlist in the music app. What's up? Did they take this away with the 5s?

(I manage music manually, FWIW). When I tried to create a genius playlist from "Africa" I got the message "This song does not have enough related songs to create a Genius Playlist." Since I could create a Genius playlist on my computer from "Africa," I figured the problem was I had not first geniused the song on my computer before putting it on the Touch. I deleted it from the Touch, updated Genius on my computer, then copied the song back to the Touch. Voila, as we say on the Serengeti, it worked: Genius playlist on the Touch from "Africa." Lot of effort for a Toto song, I'll grant you, but there was a principle involved....

Genius Playlist on iPhone

Anyone having a problem getting the Genius playlist to work on the iPhone.
I have the same music on iTunes as I do on my iPhone (750 tracks I think), I can get a playlist created on iTunes no problem, but on the iPhone with exactly the same tracks it is telling me it does not have enough information to create a list.

I have to be on wifi to create a genius playlist?

i have different playlists on each of my devices. Today I tried to create a genius playlist from a song and first my iPhone froze up, then after closing the music app all of my playlist I had in my phone disappeared and all of my playlista from other devices loaded, then I got a message to connect to wifi to create a playlist. It then created a playlist, but after I turned off wifi the playlist disappeared. Tried it all again, only this time I got a message that rhere were not any songs that matched the song that I wanted to match.

It sounds like you are not getting iTunes Match playlists when you are not connected to Wi-Fi. You do need an internet connection. See the following from the iTunes Match troubleshooting article:
If you're using an iOS device and aren't on a Wi-Fi network, turn on 3G cellular data for iTunes Match. Fees might be associated with downloading over cellular networks; contact your wireless carrier for details.

Genius playlist creation doesn't work

When I go to any title, press and hold the play/pause button and select "Start Genius", AppleTV always tells me that Genius is not available for this track. But Genius works fine for the same tracks on my iPod nano and from within iTunes.
Ideas?

OK, I solved my own problem. Restored AppleTV to factory settings (i.e. software version 1.0), upgraded to version 2.2 and re-synced all my content. Genius playlist creation now works like it should.
I've been an AppleTV customer since version 1.0 came out and have never restored the AppleTV since. It's likely that something got corrupted during one of those upgrades and that the problem would never have occured with a newer, out-of-the-box AppleTV.

When i create genius playlist the sort album columns always comes out how can i remove this?

Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist will fix split albums.
For compilations of tracks by different artists set the album artist to Various Artists and also tick Album is a compilation of songs by various artists if using the new version of Get info or set Part of a compilation to Yes on the Options tab if using the old dialog box (which you can invoke by holding down shift as you right-click > Get Info).

Can anyone explain difference between Genius playlist and customized playlist? New to this setup and trying to figure what is what.....

I can see my genius playlists from older versions of iTunes but I can't figure out how to make a new one!

Create a Genius playlist: Move the pointer over a song, click , and choose Create Genius Playlist.
Change the maximum number of songs in a Genius playlist: Click next to the song total and choose a number from the pop-up menu.
Get new songs based on the same song: Click Refresh .
A Genius playlist has this icon next to it.

Can I move my external drive library in order to create a Genius playlist?

Our iTunes library is stored on an external hard drive, and the computer we use it with is a desktop G3 (stop laughing) running OSX 10.3.9 (OK, really, stop laughing) and the latest version of iTunes I can use with that, iTunes 7 (end of comedy routine). Of course, this is the wife's computer which she only uses for email & internet, so it hasn't been a problem so far.
I would like to create some Genius playlists for that library utilizing my laptop which has 10.5.6 and iTunes 8.0.2.
Is it possible for my to connect the hard drive to my laptop and access that library in my laptop's iTunes for the purpose of creating some Genius playlists that would then be available back on the G3? It would be sweet if this wouldn't affect the laptop's small library stored on it's internal hard drive and in the default iTunes directory as well.

Actually you can store just some, but you always have to remember to option+drag in the future for those media:

I have a generation 5 Nano iPod. I have created Genius playlists and want to sync them to my iPod. How do I do this, as they are not shown in my library when syncing my music.

I want to move these playlists into the playlists in my library so they can be synced to my iPod. I don't seem to be able to do this, and can only listen to these Genius playlists on my computer. How do I transfer these?

On a 5th gen nano, you can actually create and listen to Genuis playlists on the iPod.
You can also set up automatic syncing to include Genius Playlists.
In iTunes, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, the Genuis playlists that you create are shown under GENIUS (not PLAYLISTS).
If you use automatic syncing, you set up the iPod's Music screen in iTunes (where the Sync Music checkbox is located). Genius playlists are shown on the iPod's Music screen, under Playlists, where you can select (checkmark) them as items to be synced to the iPod and maintained by iTunes.
If you use the manual method (with the Manually manage music and videos setting), there is no way to include the actual Genius playlists. However, you can create a new playlist manually on the iPod using iTunes. Then, drag the songs from a Genius playlist to that playlist on the iPod.

I updated my iPad to iOS7 and since then my iPad2 does not have sound (says no SOUND EFFECT). I already got it checked by Genius Bar who say that it is not a software problem.

Have done all suggested things including toggle and change in settings. Still it keeps showing a bell (which shows sound effects) but does not enable change of sound / sound in apps.
On Saturday, 3rd may2014 I got an appointment with Genius Bar at WEST 14th street NYC which initially said that this looks like settings issue. So they reset my iPad settings.
When this did not work, they also reloaded the iOS. Even that did not solve the problem. They conveyed that this is a hardware problem and thus they can solve this (except for replacement for which they will charge $250 for an iPad 2.)
However the ringer sound is coming perfect ( the sound is not available in any of the apps but the same speaker works for ringer).
HOW IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE A HARDWARE PROBLEM THEN? ALSO WHY CAN APPLE NOT CHANGE THE SPEAKERS?
When I conveyed that this is APPLE specific issue, they flatly denied and conveyed that there are NO such cases. When I offered to show it on Aple community, they say THIS HAPPENS TO ONLY A SMALL MINORITY AND IS NOT CONSIDERED A "KNOWN ISSUE".
I HAD GONE AT THE SAME TIME FOR CHANGING MY IPHONE's speaker (for that too, they said that they can only replace my phone with a hefty payment rather than changing the speakers).
THIS AMPLY SHOWED THAT THEY HAD NO INTENTION OF SERVICING THE INSTRUMENTS AND THEY WERE ONLY THINKING OF HOW TO INCREASE SALES BY DRAWING ON THE OLD INVENTORY.
SHOWS RIDICULOUS ATTITUDE OF APPLE.

After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

I don't seem to have the genius playlist option on my iPod touch 5th generation-what to I do???

I didn't jailbreak my ipod or download any pirated stuff. I actually only found out that my ipod should have the genius playlist option after reading a review on it. But when I checked under playlists in my music app, only the 'purchased' playlist is showing. What do I do to get the genius playlist?????

The Genius playlist and the 1st Generation ipod touch

I am just wondering, is the genius playlist ability not available to the 1st Generation iPod touch or does it only work on certain songs?
Because it would be really annoying if they limited to the 2nd Generation iPod touch only.

Another post here said to just go ahead and resync your iPod and it should start working. And it did for me. If that does not work make sure that genius is enabled on your iTunes, otherwise it will not add the functionality to your iPod.
