I've got an iPad (1st generation) it works perfectly but i can't update it, can i do something with it?
Is there any possibility of changing it at a store or something?
You can sell it. You won't get it that much for it at this point, but if you really want to upgrade, you can try sites like gazelle.com, cashforyourmac.com, sellyourmac.com, etc. Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy might also take original ipads, but they'll give you a gift card instead of cash. Google 'where to sell ipad' and you'll get many suggestions.
If money is a concern and you do sell your ipad to upgrade, you might try the Apple online certified refurbished store. All of their ipads have brand new front and back covers, a brand new battery, and a full one year warranty including 90 days of free phone support. Shipping is free in the refurb store. I don't think any other place gives you all that when you buy a used ipad.

Got my ipad mini. It works perfectly fine until I updated to ios 6.0.2. Now I can't connect to wifi. I've tried every solutions offered in every forums and internet sites but nothing happened. Still ipad cannot connect to wifi. HELP!!!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I just got Apple TV it is working great but I can't get it to pair with my ipad2, they both search and the ipad says it is discoverable but they just won't connect. All my iCloud stuff has appeared successfully onto the apple TV

My ipad is no longer seeing the sim card in my iPad. It has happened before and I had to sent it back to Apple.

I have an iPad 1st Generation Wi-Fi + 3G but my network is Verizon. I would just like to use it when in Istanbul to check and send email to the US and to Skype. Is this possible? Thank you for replying, but I don't quite understand. I don't need mobile internet at all times. I am hoping to bring my iPad and only use it in the hotel lobby which has wifi. I am trying to determine if it can be used to recieve and send email while in Istanbul as well as get on Skype. Also - will how to do this be apparent to me when I turn it on - or do I need to set any preferences (etc). And will Verizon apply any charges? This is an iPad 1st gen and though it has 3G, I have never used it - only with wifi. Thanks!

Why iPad 1st generation can't support iOS 6?
I just want to know why Apple didn't create iOS 6 for iPad 1st Generation, because when I find amazing apps at AppStore and I want to buy them, I can't because I need iOS 6 in my iPad, that's no funny!
As far as I know Apple haven't said. But the first gen iPad has a slower processor than subsequent models, and also less memory (256 meg, the iPad 2 has 512, and the 3 and 4 have 1 gig) - mine got noticeably slower with iOS 5, I doubt that it could cope with iOS 6

My iPad, 1st generation screen has gone red. Any fixes?
I took it to the Apple store where they diagnosed it to be a hardware problem. Since the device was out of warranty, my option was to live with it, or $250 to refurbish! Out of desperation, when I got home, I followed the suggestion in some discussion threads to give it a good whack/thump on the back(I hit it against my leather stool-seat),and lo and behol, the screen is back to normal. Now, my only hope is that it lasts!!!

IPad 1st Generation Error 1602...
Hey guys I've got a problem. I have this iPad 1st Generation 32GB with Cellular Service that I got. Bought from someone who couldn't fix it for cheap and now I know the extent of why he sold it to me. The iPad is in a constant boot loop and no matter what it won't stop. So I decided I would just do a restore and try to fix the issue that way. Nope, I get the error...
"The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1602)."
The more I research the topic all I come across are sketchy youtube videos where you have to download certain software off of sites that seem suspect. I've used 3 different computers including my MacBook and nothing seems to work. If you guys have any clue on how to fix this issue let me know. Obviously this iPad is a bit old by todays technology standards and can only run up to iOS 5.1. If you can help me out that would be great, thank you!The 1602 usually relates to a problem with your USB connection. Bad port on the computer, bad cable or something in the connection port on the iPad that prevents a good connection.

I have an iPad 1st generation that no longer has working volume buttons but every once in a while the sound turns on. So I know the speakers still work. I have tried resetting all settings and made sure that my side switch was auto lock not auto mute. I have tried the mystical swiping upward on the screen with 4 fingers to get some special sound menu (which I never succeeded in getting). My headphone jack doesn't work all the time either so some times my kids can hear their games and sometimes they can't. I am super frustrated at this point. So any suggestions would be great. Am I missing something basic or do we just have a soundless iPad now?

IPad 1st Generation not syncing!
I have an Ipad 1st generation. It is as upgraded as possible for it's generation. Whenever connected to my computer I am unable to update existing apps. I have also not been able to add new apps. It will allow me to remove whatever I want.
I think that what you are saying about the problem being with the computer's OS (which is 10.9.2/maverick) may be the problem. Maybe that in conjunction with the latest iTunes upgrades are a problem with my older iPad.
But I don't get any kind of error message when I am trying to either sync, or update apps. The only messages I have gotten were when I attempted to update the netflix app directly on my iPad using the app store. And then the message said that the update I was attempting to install was not compatible with my iPad's OS. It then went on to inform me that I could instead re-install an earlier version of the netflix app that would work on my iPad. I installed it, and it works perfectly.--But when I connect the computer directly to my iPad so I could update some of the apps is when all the problems began. There were 22 updates available. When I tried to sync/apply changes(which included updates to 22 apps)iTunes carried on as though the sync was being done with all the changes requested. At the end of sync there was no sound to announce that the sync was done. When I looked back at the list of apps, all those that had said "will update" before I clicked apply, then said "update". Itunes had bounced out all changes I wanted, and was acting as if it had done all that I wanted. Nothing was done. Nothing at all. And during the sync process all messages indicated that the sync was going as it was supposed to. -

Did you backup the iPad first? If you did - restore from the backup in order to restore the photos in the Saved Album on your iPad. If the photos were synced to the iPad, then sync them back again via iTunes.

If you did backup first, you will be restoring your most recent backup and you should be OK. But know that when you restore from a backup, you restore everything that is in that backup onto the iPad .... All documents, device settings, all data and so on. You cannot just select photos to restore to the iPad. It's all or nothing. -

It's not very likely that a virus/malware is slowing you. Although "officially" above the minimum, 320MB RAM is light for Tiger. Of our various G4 Macs running Tiger, the least RAM installed is 768MB. The others range from 1G to 1.75G RAM. A low RAM count plus a hard drive that's filling up can really drag down the performance.
