I've had my 4X g5 internal drive for years, time for a NEW ONE?

I make movies and would like to make a lot of DVD stuff or but with the drive i have it takes sooo long just for a 2 hour video to burn.
Surprisingly i have recently found that 18x and 20x speed external dvd drvies exist!!! wow. I think that would improve whole experience.
Are these 18x, or 20x drives way faster..and alsowhich do you recommend?

Yep, way faster.
The Pioneer models are very good, with good OS X compatibility. The current Pioneer DVR-115 is an excellent drive. Soon to be released (already out in Asia) Pioneer DVR-116 burns DL at 12x, rather than 10x in the 115.
Of course, a main benefit, besides the obvious speed, is the better compatibility with the latest, faster rated media.

I've recently purchased a Toshiba with the purpose of editing videos. It came with 1TB 5400rpm internal drive and i bought another internal drive, a Samsung 840 with 250g.
What i would like to ask is what is the best way to work? Install the software in the SSD drive and the other stuff (videos,audio,exports etc.) in the HDD drive?

So i've switched the internal drives and now i have the ssd one for OS and programs and the other one and the only that i had is now for footage but i have a question.
I had some problems during the migration from the HDD to SSD. First time things seemed to be fine but when i was in windows (already with the SSD), an error was always occuring. So i've formatted the SSD, tried again and things went fine these time (still dont know why that error occurred the first time).
The thing i found strange is that my HDD disk had about 50G of data to transfer to the SSD but when the proccess was done, my SSD had about 63G of data(more 13G than the HDD had). Somebody know why that happen?

Upon transferring to the cloud, all my previous mail says the same date, except for today and yesterday. The rest says it came in on the same date I had to replace the hard drive 3 years ago. Totally stumped. It didn't do this on my mac...

Get the new keyboard at eBay and replace by yourself may be cheaper way, though you're required higher skill and well know about MacBook Air.

Recomend Internal Drive For Mac Book

i'm looking to change out my internal drive for more space. looking for the largest size which i think is 250. can any one recomend a drive or ones to stay away from. i see a seagate 250 2.5 serial ata/300 note book drive advertised for a good price. will this work? and is super duper the best cloning program, i don't want to do a fresh install

You can set up your iCloud account on your iOS device under: "Settings > iCloud" and a other account for store purchases under "Settings > iTunes & App Stores". Unfortunately merging accounts is not possible but you could transfer all of your music manually via iTunes from your Mac or PC.

As you can see Erin, trying to recover information from a hosed drive can be very expensive.
I would suggest first the OWC site as well. You can get a new drive of choice in size there.

Wth your lap top and these folllowing tools your are set to change out the drive, reload OS and then with
the voyager pop in the old iMac drive and with the Prosoft software, try to mount and recover the files. Data Rescue is very good at this " if " the drive is not totally mechanically hosed. Drive Genius is very good at a number of things too. Nothing replaces the old adage of Back Up Back up Back up.
The voyage I listed can become the new backup drive for you.. your choice of tools: Time Machine or by cloning via CarbonCopyCloner or by what I use SuperDuper! IF you want to be really kewl.. both. By that I mean cloning and Time Machine.
It will take you an hour to swap out the drive and spring clean the iMac.. there is a hundred how too,s on you tube.
Hope this helps. Remember if is always when a drive will fail..they all do. I tell the people I support that Harddrives are good for 15 min.. to when they don't work. They will all fail.
Apple Geniuses are very limited to what they can and will do as far as file recovery.
Your best bet is to try to do it your self first. There is lots of help out here and you are not the first.

I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

They should have one in Stock, but you never know. Call your Apple Store and tell them you have an iPhone 5 color and GB, and that you most likely will need a replacement, do they have any in Stock. If yes, go in, if not ask for advice on how to handle your problem.
