I've had my iPod touch on charge for a while but it's still not turning on

since the start of the summer holidays i havent used my iPod touch as i would if i was at school...
it's been in my Teknika iPod speakers... i unplugged them for a while so the battery must have gone flat
but i am curious as to why my iPod is not turning on now, i've held the on button down for a while which
didnt do anything so i held the on button and the middle button... this didnt do anything either... i left my
iPod for a whole day to charge the other week and the next day it came on but kept turning itself off...
since then as i said its been in the docks but its never turned itself back on as it would usually do if it went dead
please help?! i need my iPod back before school otherwise i will die!

After coneecting to a charging source for half an hour:
- connect it to your computer. If it shows in iTunes, restore the iPod via iTunes
- If it does not show, see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow you to restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Next, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I have had an iPod Touch 3rd Gen for two years pretty much and the apps have worked fine. Suddenly when I go on an app it appears to launch then just exits. I tried turning the iPod off and on again, but that made all my apps behave like that. Settings and those things work fine still. Should this suddenly happen? I dont want to lose all 204 apps.

I downloaded the pokemon yellow version app for my ipod touch more than a month ago and it is still not working. It has not worked for anybody who bought it. Why is it off of the app store now and how do I get my money back?

I have a iphone 4s, it died and has been on the charger for the last two days and still wont turn on. I have had a ipod touch for a few years( 4th generation) and now withing 10 minutes of use it heats up very warm and only holds it's charge for about a hour if im lucky any help?

I have been trying to update my IPod touch 4g to IOS 5, but I tunes does not recognize it and says it is up to date. When I Updated my other touch yesterday every thing worked great. but this one does not seem to want to go beyond 4.2.1(8C148)
Ok make sure you have iTunes 11. Then connect iPod touch to computer then iTunes should pop up automatically. After it opens on the bottom left there should be a tab where it says your name and then iPod. For example (Johns iPod) click on that then it brings all your information of the iPod including restore and updating.

Last week my 5th generation ipod touch dropped face down onto the ground. When picked up the screen was black and did not turn back on. I tried to connect it to the laptop but it did not recognize the ipod. Also when it is plugged into the laptop the area by the camera gets warm like it is charging. But still has a black screen. My ipod was working just fine for the past 2 years and ever since upgrading to ios 6.1.3, i simply cannot play games or anymore such as Subway surfers, carrot fantasy, 4 pics 1 word, etc. I also noticed that i had 1.2 GB of free space on ios 5.1.1 but then decreased to 900+ MB after "upgrading" to ios 6.1.3. I then deleted one of my space-hungry apps (the sims freeplay) to clear up some space and now have 1.6 GB of free memory. Just a thought, could apple have purposely done this with their software update to actually make an older, phased-out product such as my ipod touch 4th gen work worse than it has in its previous versions of softwares to force you to scrap it for a newer product?
