I've heard that newer versions of Firefox no longer support RoboForm - is this true?

RoboForm toolbar is essential to me but friends have told me that when they updated previous versions of Firefox, they lost that capability. I don't want to chance it if they are correct.

Mozilla has blocklisted the 7.6.1 and earlier due to being a top crasher. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/i45
It is Roboform the supports Firefox, not Firefox supporting Roboform.
Roboform has supported Firefox 9 for several versions now. http://www.roboform.com/support/news

No, not without upgrading to a higher version of the Mac OS. However, the easiest thing to do is get another browser for use with sites that don't like older versions of Saari. I always have a secondary browser on any computer, Mac or PC. For our Macs, I install FireFiox alongside Safari when setting up a new computer.
As FireFox is updated sometimes weekly, YouTube should not have a problem with it.

  • After updating to new version of Firefox, my paid for RoboForm will not work. What should I do? I MUST have it working. Thanks Jane

Yesterday I downloaded the new version of Firefox as suggested by you. Then my paid for version of RoboForm , which always has worked, would not work. I MUST have it working. What can I do now to solve this crucial problem? PLEASE send detailed info so I can follow exactly. Thanks, Jane P.

You need version 7 of RoboForm for Firefox 4. Version 6 will only work with Firefox 3.6.* or earlier.
If you have version 6 this may be viewed as a method to generate income by Roboform in forcing users to update to version 7 and not offering updates to version 6 to make it compatible.
An alternative free password manager that works with Firefox 4 is Lastpass - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager
If you have version 6 of Roboform and need to use it you will have to downgrade to Firefox 3.6
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

  • Reinstalled Win 7 Home Pre. have an icon on desk top titled Old Firefox Data, how can I get this info into my new version of Firefox, FAQ's not clear on this.

Read FAQ's but did not see how I was to proceed to restore the data in the Old FireFox Data folder on my desktop. It should hold all of my bookmarks, passwords and other data that I would like to recover into this new install of FireFox.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; '''Old Firefox?'''

  • New version of Firefox no longer playes videos on my website

Have no problem playing them on IE, Safari and Chrome.
Used to play on prior versions of Firefox.
    Link to site is http://www.somaxsports.com/video.php
Hope someone can help. Lots of people use Firefox to view our site.

When I load a page (in this case, the 150-mph serve page, I get 3 errors in Firefox's Error Console. (Also, the video does not play.)
You can view those errors as follows:
    * Open the console using Ctrl+Shift+j
    * Click the Clear button
    * Leaving the console open, reload the page bypassing the cache, using Ctrl+Shift+r
    * In the console, click the Errors button to filter the list (the other items are style sheet warnings)
    This is what I see:
    (1) Error: The stylesheet http://somaxsports.com/index.php was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html", is not "text/css".
This is generated by /css/header.css which is retrieving an HTML page, which then redirects to the site's home page. Neither is a stylesheet.
    (2) Error: The stylesheet http://somaxsports.com/index.php was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html", is not "text/css".
This is generated by /css/content.css which is retrieving an HTML page, which then redirects to the site's home page. Neither is a stylesheet.
    (3) Error: ReferenceError: selected is not defined
Not sure what's causing this, but it may be the onload handler in your <body> tag.

  • I have Norton 360 on my computer and with the older version of Firefox, Norton remembered all my passwords but this new version of Firefox doesn't. How can this be fixed or is there a way to fix this?

I have Norton 360 on my computer. I use Firefox regularly and I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. I was able to use Norton 360 in Firefox. Norton saved all my passwords I use online. Now the latest update of Firefox does not allow me to use Norton 360. Is this compatibility problem with Firefox or with Norton? Can this be fixed? If so, how? What do I need to do?

Works for me on Linux with Firefox 10.0.1
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Flash player setup no longer working in newer versions of FireFox. How do I fix this?

I need to change the buffer size in the Flash player. The setup window pops up, but seems to be in a disabled state that will not allow changing anything. The only way to remove the disabled setup window is to do a reload. This removes the Flash Player setup window and restores all to normal. How do I re-enable the Flash Player setup to function normally? This worked three versions ago.

You can try to delete the Flash settings folder on your hard drive.
Delete the macromedia.com and #SharedObjects folders to reset all Flash cookies and settings.
    %AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\
    C:\Users\&lt;user&gt;\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

  • Is the rumor i just read about new versions of firefox getting a Identity attached to it true? If it is, WHY? why would you ruin the privacy of your browser?

It seems privacy and integrity is under attack everywhere, Even from Firefox? I dont use firefox for anything illegal but i still value my privacy. So, is the rumors true?

hello, this blog post was from 2009 - in the meantime this project has evolved into an open source login-system named [https://login.persona.org/about Persona], that web developers can use for their sites. this isn't specific to firefox and will work with all other browsers as well...

  • I would update to the new version of Firefox but I like my big Google Firefox start page. Don't think I'll have that with the new version and I don't want to give it up.

I love my start page. It's nice and big with the Google search engine bar and Firefox earth symbol attached. I'm positive that the new version of Firefox will cause me to lose this particular start page so I refuse to do the update. If I download the new version and this happens I won't know how to get it back (tho' I did do it once and lost the start page so I went back into my Mac time machine and got the old version back. I was so relieved.) Thank you.

If I recall correctly, you are talking about the default start page. To check if this is correct, type '''about:home''' in the awesome bar. If this is the same as your homepage, it will still be there when you update.

  • On both of my laptops that upgraded to the new version of Firefox, chat feature doesn't work anymore. It still works on my 3rd laptop that I didn't upgrade.

I have 3 laptops. On 2 of them I upgraded to the new version of Firefox recently when I was prompted to do so. Both of those laptops now have trouble with chat . My 3rd laptop I have not upgraded to latest version and the chat still works. Either fix this or I have to use a different browser. I need to chat for my work. I can't make money without chat feature!!!

  • I've noticed that in the new version of Firefox that you cannot save multiple tabs at one time like the previous Firefox 3.6.or so and I wanted to know if I can find that feature again?

I've noticed that in the new version of Firefox that you cannot save multiple tabs at one time like the previous Firefox 3.6.or so and I wanted to know if I can find that feature again?
In the previous versions of Firefox when you went to you Bookmarks menu it gave you the options to either Bookmark This Page 'command' + 'D', Subscribe to this Page, Bookmark All Tabs 'up-arrow-key' + 'command' + 'D', and Organize Bookmarks 'up-arrow-key' + 'command' + 'B' however in the newest version of Firefox there is no Bookmark All Tabs so you can bookmark all the tabs that you have up in one window at a time. So I need to know if it is possible that the feature is now in a different place, is gone altogether, or if you can get that feature another way?
For me personally and my work I go through hundreds of web pages a day and save around half of those so it is imperative that I be able to bookmark more then one tab at a time because I can't be bothered to bookmark every single page separately and then go through hundreds of tabs in my Unsorted bookmarks in order to sort those bookmarks. It is simple inconvenient to sort every bookmark individually that is why the previous version of Firefox with the Bookmark All Tabs button was superior in its convenience.

Right click any tab and choose "Bookmark All Tabs".

  • I can not download the new version of Firefox. I keep getting a message that says "Firefox 5.0.1dmg could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred" HOW do I fix this?

Every time I try to download the new version it just says I can not download the new version of Firefox. I keep getting a message that says "Firefox 5.0.1dmg could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred - Try saving to disk first and then opening the file"

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
