I've installed CC and try to open illustrator...

and it waits a LONG time, then finally fails. the error message is:
"Installation completed though some optional components failed to install correctly. (6)"
I have a computer (windows 7) and am completely flummoxed about how to fix this error.
any ideas on how to proceed? :S
I called customer support, and since (I assume) this is a trial copy, they say they can't help me.
to paraphrase star wars, "help me Adobe Community, you're my only hope"
