Although not illegal, Apple discourages a user from modifying the iPhone OS in any manner, including "jailbreaking". Apple feels so strongly about this that discussing methods to assist a user trying to either jailbreak or "unjailbreak" an iPhone are prohibited.

Hi, i just want to know if theres any way to just stop the erase all data and settings for my iphone 3gs it has been 4 hours and it still havent finished yet, still showing the black screen with an apple icon. Im getting so frustrated, is there any way to just stop the process and roll back the changes made? Would it do any harm if i press on my home key and power button the same time? Thanks!
Something has gone wrong, on an iPhone 3Gs the erase all operation should be instantaneous. Disconnect your phone & force it into recovery mode:

iPhone 3GS, iOS 6Your iPhone was "unofficially" unlocked by some means to work with a different carrier. Now that you have updated it has relocked to the original carrier. If you do not know who the original carrier was you will need to call AppleCare and give them the model and serial number of your iPhone. Then you will need to contact that carrier to see if they have a process to unlock the phone and if you qualify.

Why do you need to access your email? To reset the password?

I have replied to you three times now without reply. I DID NOT authorise a payment of £9.99 for NowTV. What is the solution to getting my money refunded. I think you assume I will go away after being Ignored. No I will not go away. I find now that you have DISABLED MY APPLE ID. Is this a punishment you use to anyone who takes up a stand against charges being made unauthorised on their account?. Please tell me why you have disabled my account. When will my account be restored? If not when will you refund ALL my purchases made to APPLE/ITUNES? I can then move on to another brand and hopefully better customer service. After reading articles regarding APPLE ID DISABLED it appears common practice from your company to DISABLE anyone's account if they question unknown charges. Please reply with your intentions regarding the unauthorised payment and the DISABLING of my account.

That image on the iPad screen is telling you what to do. Connect the iPad to your computer and use iTunes to restore the iOS software. You said it yourself, something went wrong. So now you have to restore the device.

Make sure that you read all the way to the end under "Additional Information" where it talks about using recovery mode. You just might need to use that in order to restore. -

It's really been puzzling me, I've never logged in the Apple site on a laptop before - I have been getting the same message 'Unable to verify iCloud account' every time I try and erase all data and content from my iPhone 4s. When I go to iCloud on my laptop and sign in using my Apple ID it signs me in. These are the same log in details I am prompted for when trying to erase all data/content from the phone. Does anyone know if you need to do the IOS update to be able to restore all data and content? I have not installed the new update on either of my iPhone 4S's yet.

i forgot my passode to my ipod and im trying to restore it. i went through some steps. says connect ipod to itunes then when i connect box comes up n says i have to unlock my passcode to my ipod which i dont know. i thknk its lock now. want come back up to the passcode screen

Hello there, can someone help me please. I erased all data and settings last night and now my IPAD just shows a line across it with the apple logo. It is not responding to the on / off switch. I have connected the IPAD to my laptop so i can reinitilise it but nothing is happening - it doesn't appear as a device on my laptop (the USB port is working OK) Has anyone else experienced this and how did you overcome it?
