I've just added a new email account to my iPhone 5 & want to add a signature to my outgoing emails.
I set this up myself bofore upgrading to ios7 but for the life of me I cant find find the option in any of the settings.
Anyone...?
It is a hotmail account (I know that hotmail has problems, so I had set it up via an 'other' account in the settings), it is not a POP.
On my old Iphone 4, the minute I recieved an email my phone would vibrate and the email would show up in my inbox, yet my Iphone 5 isn't even recognising an email, let alone sending me a push notification.

Wait until it finishes. It's just downloading the headers of the emails in your account and caching them offline for quick access. Once it has finished it will go back to just downloading new emails as normal.

No, and if I noticed anyone that I allowed to use my iPhone checking my email which is the same as opening any of my snail mail without my permission, that would be the last time they used my iPhone.

Trouble adding a second email account to my iPhone 4
I am trying to add a second email account to my iPhone 4. I have gone into settings, mail/contacts/calendars, add account, etc. I have chosen "other" and then chosen "add mail account". I have entered my name, the second email address and a password. Is this password a new pass word for my new email account or is it the password needed to access the email server? Then I choose the POP over the the IMAP, because this new email is a POP account, I think. Now, am I required to add information for both the incoming mail server and the outgoing mail server? This is where I am lost.
I am trying to set this up with out going into the Apple store. Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksThanks. I have not gone to his web site. But, I do have the information the provided. He provided a POP Server address and a SMTP Server address. He also provided the public email address, username and password.
I think my issue is me not understanding IMAP vs POP and where to use the POP server vs the SMTP server information. Looks like I need to plan a trip to the Apple store. -

If you search the forum, you will see a number of these. It has to do with your SMTP server, which handles the sending of mail. Your SMTP server is not authenticating your account and so it will not send. Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and select the account in question. Look under Outgoing Mail Server and click on the SMTP server. From there, you should see the Primary Server. Tap on that, and check the settings. Make sure your username and password are entered and correct, also, if SSL is off, try turning it on. If you cannot get it working, then delete the account, check with your email provider for all of the correct settings, and add the account back, being careful to spell username and password settings correctly.

If you used the same Apple ID as previously then you are using the same iCloud account.

How do I get a new email account to show in accounts and mailbox list
I have added a new email account to my iPod OS5 but I can't access it. It doesn't show up in my mailbox or account list. How do I ge this new account to show up in these lists so that I can access the account?
I tried a reset and it didn't help. I have already added one gmail account and it shows up in both my "inboxes" and "Accounts" list. Still can't access my second gmail account. When I try to add the new gmail account again, I get the message that this account has already been created. I have deleted the account and added it again with the same problem resulting. Any other suggestions?

I've set up a new email account on my iphone 5 and want this email account to be set up on my Mac mini aswell. I have connected my iphone to my my mac as I thought it may sync automatically but it didn't. I'm a new mac user and still getting to grips with it! If you already have an iCloud account, on your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Make sure Mail is selected.
On yor iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Mail is swtiched on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to sync the data between your Mac and your iPhone. -
i cant remember the answers to my security questions. i have reset my password and added the recovery email account but still cant figure out how to purchase new content. it asks me the same security questions. i also have a temp pin. how do i fix this?
If you've just added an address to your account then it will be an alternate/secondary email address, a rescue email address can only be added by answering 2 of your security questions. If you already had one on your account then go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email addressthen you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

The procedure is Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Add another email address. The email address has to be a valid working email address, obviously. Apple should verify the email address and you have to go to the inbox of that email account, read the verification email from Apple and follow the inductions in the email in order to complete the verification. Then you go back to the settings, uncheck your email address and check the new email address to be used as the contact email address.

You can go into settings, mail, contacts and calendars, and set your mail to only download the last 50.
When you actually set upthe account, you can go into any available advanced settings and see if that can be set to new mail only. Unfortunately, every mail provider had slightly different things they'll allow you to tweak, so you just have to play to see what you can do.
For example, when I set up my Yahoo, I have different things I can tweak than I do on my Hotmail account, so some accounts allow more ability to tweak than others.
