I've just found a possible solution to insert equations, without latex and images.

I've just found a possible solution to insert equations, fractions and other types of mathematics characters in Pages for iOS, without latex, etc, only I've used Pages for iOS. Without inserting images, only with Pages and tools and symbols that are not images! Take a look at this document from Pages made with the iPad Air.

Yes, use the camera icon to upload a graphic of your document.  Also explain your solution right here instead of asking people to send you their email address, which is often not a good idea.

    The 1G iPod can only go as high as 3.1.3. The 1G does not have an internal speaker or volume buttons on the upper left edge.

    No.  You can turn your 6G Nano in to be recycled at your local Apple Store for a 10% discount towards the purchase of a new one. Otherwise, your only other option would be to sell the iPod on Craigslist or eBay and use the proceeds from the sale towards the purchase of the new 7G nano.

  • Found a possible solution to HP 7520 network printing problems

    My problem, as seems to have been reported frequently, is that although my HP 7520 printer is active on my wireless network (i.e., printer network diagnostics all OK and printer can receive HP ePrint jobs), my home computers have generally been unable to submit print jobs directly to the printer.  The error is something like "Unable to Connect blah blah blah".  I used all the methods documented in HP Support articles, and nothing resolved the problem.  I am using a Verizon wireless router, Westell A90-9100EM15-10 (http://westell.com/support/ultraline-series3/a90-9100em15-10) running FW version 50.03.00.10.  After poking around at random, I found the printer's web interface (i.e., at 192.168.1.20) and found an option in the Network -> Wireless (802.11) -> Advanced webpage.  At the very bottom in the "Compatibility" section, there are two options: "In an infrastructure network use 802.11b behavior." and "In an infrastructure network use 802.11b/g behavior."  Neither were checked.  Since my router was configured for both 802.11b/g, I checked the second option.  After clicking "Apply" and allowing the printer to re-connect to the network I do not have the same kinds of printer problems.  I have not done enough follow up testing to be certain, and in one case, a laptop on a wireless connection to my 7520 printer did not seem to be able to connect.  I used the Command terminal and pinged my printer.  Once I did that, the laptop was able to detect the printer, and I was able to submit a print job.  I will follow up in the next day or so to report whether or not I have any further problems.
    Here is a screen shot of the HP 7520 configuration webpage I mentioned, and I've circled in blue the option I changed.

    These settings are for setting up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, keep wireless devices better connected and make your router secure and hack proof.
    1. Set a static IP in the printer (click here) outside the DHCP range of the router (check your manual).
        This is for Linksys routers but can be used for all routers.  Verify your DHCP range and change this
        first if needed.  More Wireless Printing help is here.
    2. Verify in the printer that 'Auto Off' is disabled.  Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by going to the
        printers IP address in your browsers address bar, click  Settings Tab/Auto Off.  Or use the Printer
        Assistant, Printer Home Page (EWS).
    In the router:  (Refer to your router manual for information)
    3. Use a fixed wireless channel like 1,6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    4. Set router to 20Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on router.
    5. Always use WPA2-AES (Personal) encryption, but you can try ‘mixed’ mode.
    6. Disable WPS and never use it and disable UPnP for the routers security.  Nobody can hack your
        system now and helps with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, search the web).
    7. If you have a dual band router (2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz bands), make sure the SSID’s are NOT the same,
        they must be different for all bands, even for any Guest networks.
    8. Save all settings.  Power off both, wait 2 mins.  Power on router wait 2 mins.
    9. Power on printer and verify it reconnects to router.

  • Found a possible solution for iTunes constantly reopening

    My iTunes kept reopening every time I closed it - like 20-30 times in a row, with me quitting, force quitting, etc., even as my force quit window was up. I would force quit the application but it's logo wouldn't disappear. Searching around on these forums I poked around a bit and figured out that when I hid my RAC (Red Alarm Clock widget, which works with itunes, though isn't constantly playing), I could quit without the icon popping right back up. So if you're having this problem you might try hiding (you don't have to delete it, just move it from the main dashboard) any widgets that work with iTunes.

  • Possible solution to iTunes 6 not opening, and B Noir is a genius

    Hello
    Im a first time poster here, and I have had some success getting my iTunes 6 update to work after I was experiencing the same problems that many posters here have had. I thought I would share how I fixed it, and maybe it would help someone else out.
    I upgraded to iTunes 6, and it wouldnt open. After doing a little searching, I saw that a lot of people that had problems had Norton Internet Security. I figured for sure that was my problem.
    So, after a couple hours of trying different fixes, I finally figured I would uninstall NIS, and get another firewall/virus software. iTunes STILL would not open! (Neither would Quicktime).
    I ran MSCONFIG with the following steps (This was found on another thread on this forum)
    1. Start > Run > type "msconfig" and press enter
    2. Go to the services tab
    3. check "hide all Microsoft services"
    4. click disable all
    5. find "iPodService" and check that one (so its the only process)
    6. go to the startup tab
    7. click disable all
    8. check qttask and ituneshelper so they are the only programs checked
    9. restart
    When I restarted, iTunes started fine. However, this isnt the end to the solution. This basically shuts all other services down on your PC.
    I had read in another post here by B Noir (who seems to be able to fix all problems if you post it! Thanks B) that there are a lot of malware exe's that can get on your machine that are 6 character .exe files. I started MSCONFIG again, paid close attention to all of the things on the 'Startup' tab, and sure enough - I had a file named YCRIYK.EXE that looked completely unfamiliar. I also googled it, and only got back three suspicious hits, one of which was an Asian website that I couldnt read, the other ones being related to spyware. I should also add that I am relatively paranoid when it comes to spyware/viruses, and that in addition to NIS, I also run Adaware, as well as several other spyblocking tools pretty often - I have no idea what this file is or how it got on my PC.
    So, I turned all other services BACK ON (using the steps from MSCONFIG) EXCEPT for that one. I also reinstalled NIS to verify that indeed it was not the problem. Im assuming that this was some type of malware conflicting with either Quicktime or iTunes, because making sure that didnt start fixed my problem, and iTunes/Quicktime is working now.
    Good luck to you all. I know how frustrating this can be!

    I can sympathize with your situation, archerdave1.
    Firewall software and anti-virus software are supposed to prevent things from running on your computer. This is to protect you from malicious software running without your knowing about it.
    If you run firewall and anti-virus software, it is your job to tell those utilities which programs (eg iTunes) that you want to be exempt from their operations. You have to manually configure your firewall and anti-virus software to play nice with iTunes or any other similar program. This is not Apple's fault, and it's not Microsoft's fault. You as the user have to learn how to do this.
    You also need to know how to use msconfig.
    For all the above reasons, Windows computers are very hard to work with and configure these days. I'm a professional computer technician, and it bothers me that people who really don't like to tweak computers are going out and buying Windows systems. They are just too complex.
    There is a perfect solution to your problem. You can switch to Macintosh. Since there is NO spyware and NO viruses that affect Mac OS X, you can ignore all those anti-virus and anti-spyware headaches and just enjoy using your computer.
    Moral of the story: If you don't want to tweak and configure your computer constantly to protect against malicious security problems, just get a Mac. Problem solved.

  • I just found that I have 180,000 photos...and most are random web images and thumbnails?..

    So my wife opens the mac and iPhoto is up and locked in the dreaded spin, in looking I see 180k photos in the events, and most are of the same web images.
    Why?
    How do I prevent this?
    Can I just delete them?

    The best solution is - as Larry says - restoring from back up. This can happen when the HD icon, or a System icon is inadvertently dragged to the iPhoto icon or window.
    If you've trashed 172k items at one o then you've likely trashed the database file.
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • I'm 64 and just found out that cd(s) are for recording music and dvds are 4 recording video

    R cds for recording only music & dvds R for video and sound recording -is there more?

    You can use CDs for other stuff, but the problem is that they only hold up to 700 MB (which comes out to about 15 average length songs) or so, whereas a DVD holds up to 4 GB. So you can put much more stuff on a DVD. And, using a CD for a video requires special burning or the DVD player won't recognize it as a video.

  • Is it possible to implement only customs without compliance and risk?

    Hi guys,
    is it possible to only map the proforma invoice from feeder system to GTS without mapping the sales order and delivery.
    If yes, then kindly guide me.
    regards

    Technically it is possible to do this.  Balazs is on the right track with SD0C.  However, you may see blank fields on the export declaration because some fields pull data from the delivery document ('expord') that is in GTS instead of pulling all from the feeder system.  Also, there are 'General Settings' in GTS that you must still configure to enable the legal regulations and document processing.
    As a former export compliance officer, I must also mention that this is risky from a compliance point of view.  It is a great risk to the company to process export declarations in GTS in order to generate forms (or AES messages) for customs purposes without having a robust compliance program to assure legal control, SPL and Embargo compliance.
    From cost perspective, it also does not make sense to spend time/effort configuring GTS to perform export or import functions while not employing compliance functions as well - unless there is a robust external system handling those functions.  Even then, I would bet that it makes economic sense to bring all those functions into GTS.

  • Is it possible to make a built of bullets and images at the same time?

    Hi,
    I build a slide with a bullet entry that appear one at a time. Quite easy. But each time I draw a bullet I would like to have an image appear with each one.
    Other than that, I only see the built of bullet as separate text object with image built in the middle. Right?
    Thanks

    That'll do it. Can have image build on same click or time point if automatic by using the +automatically with+ option in build drawer

  • OS X 10.9 freeze when WiFi is turned off (POSSIBLE SOLUTION)

    Hi, I just found a possible solution for this problem: my MacBook Pro freeze completely (without the spinning beach ball) after I turn off WiFi.
    I have a MacBook Pro 17 inch late 2007 (MacBookPro3,1 - A1229), with a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB card, running OS X 10.9.
    What happened:
    - I updated the OS from 10.8.4 to 10.8.5
    - My Mac started freezing everytime after login, I don't remember if WiFi was on or off
    - Reverted back 10.8.4, thank you Time Machine!
    - Updated to OS X 10.9
    - Everything was OK, but then I did some work in my home and I had to turn off the modem
    - Modem was off, so I decided to turn off also the AirPort card on my MacBook Pro
    - After a couple of seconds my computer completely stopped responding, trackpad and keyboard were useless, the UI froze
    - After pressing the power button I managed to shutdown the Mac and then start it up again
    - Now after the startup process I was stuck in loop: WiFi was still off and I had few seconds to login, wait for my account to load and turn on WiFi from the menubar icon; I failed countless times!
    - In an attempt to slow down the Mac and earn some more seconds I did a PRAM reset and logged in with the Shift key pressed (after typing my password)
    - I managed to turn WiFi on and looked immediatly for clues on Console logs:

    I'm experiencing a similar issue.
    In my case, a conflicting kext (kernel extension) from a vitual machine (VirtualBox) was causing an immediate freeze after turning Wi-Fi off. After disabling the kext's scripts, I can now disable Wi-Fi safely but if I reboot then the system hangs at radom instances of boot sequence (for example while showing the apple logo, or at the login screen or a few seconds after entering the password).
    I can only boot in single user mode (command-option-S) so after looking around a way to turn on WiFi from the command line, I ended up using a daemon (boot script) that turns on WiFi before anything else happens (at least as soon as the airport card is running).
    In any case, I left the instructions here, just for reference.
    The script should be created in /Library/LaunchDaemons
    It can have any name with "plist" extension, I choosen "com.fixwifi.wifion.plist"
    To create the file type: nano /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.fixwifi.wifion.plist
    Enter the following text (it's a lot of text, I know, but it is better than nothing):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
        <key>Label</key>
        <string>com.fixwifi.wifion</string>
        <key>RunAtLoad</key>
        <true/>
        <key>KeepAlive</key>
            <dict>
                <key>SuccesfulExit</key>
                <false/>
            </dict>
        <key>ProgramArguments</key>
            <array>
                <string>networksetup</string>
                <string>-setairportpower</string>
                <string>en1</string>
                <string>on</string>
            </array>
        <key>StartInterval</key>
        <integer>2</integer>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    When finished, type "ctrl-x", then "y" to save and enter. Reboot.
    This script will:
    - try to power on the en1 interface as soon as the script loads
    - if it fails (because the interface is not running yet), will try to turn it on every two seconds
    - once the interface is on (exit is succesful), then unload the script.
    Note that this script assumes the airport interface is named "en1". It can also work with the word "airport" (at least in my tests).
    Good luck!

  • Windows 8.1 broke recovery / refresh (I might have a possible solution)

    I think it is widley known that Windows 8.1 broke the refresh feature and recovery options on HP laptops that were shipped with Windows 8. I just wondered if anyone found a possible solution because I've been searching for ages and still havent found a fix.
    I do however have a possible solotion that I haven't tested but wanted people's thoughts!
    Basically I remember once installing a downloaded version of Windows 8 in order to extract the recovery section because there was a similar problem but that just made things worse, however after calling HP they made me run the recovery option and it was all fixed. My idea is that if I downgrade to Windows 8, then do factory restore so that I get all the HP things and the offical version of Windows 8 and finally upgrade back to Windows 8.1. I know it's long but I don't mind, just wanted to see if anyone else thought this could work!
