I recently installed OS X Mavericks and when I tried to update iMovie and iPhoto, it wouldn't let me becaus it said they were downloaded under a different Apple ID, so I tried to uninstall and reinstall them from scratch, and now it won't even let me accept them. I just got my cable company to switch my wireless router to a wired one considering now I have the wireless airport device (the newest one) but now I can't get a wireless signal. The router works when directlyplugged in,the aiport wireless device is green. I've tried going through my new MacBook Pro settings and it the diagnostics check, it says network changes detected, I tell it that it "yes" does connect to a cable modem, it tells me to restart it, after I do it asks if there are any other devices hooked up ( firewall) and when I say no it tells me that it can't fix the problem.
Now I know that I probably have a new IP address because of the cable company switching the boxes but it was working fine with the other box, now there isn't a signal to be had on it!
Please anybody out there that can help!!!??Any time you change networking hardware it is always a good idea to perform a complete power recycle with the new equipment. Check out the following AirPort User Tip. Please post back your results.

I just installed Maverick on my Mac. When I started Final Cut Pro, I got the message that probably it doesn't work with Maverick.
Before that moment it was also impossible to update Final Cut Pro. App Store directed me to Apple Menu looking for updates, and the Apple Menu directed me tot the App Store. Sounds familiar to someone?The GM of Mavericks that I tried out shortly before Mavericks actually came out worked great with FCPX until I tried to import something into FCPX. The import window would open and then nothing. Wouldn't let me do or choose anything. Always had to force quit it. So, I'm a little hesitant to upgrade today.

Just installed 7.5. Itunes freezes up when I try to play a TV show. The music works fine.
Help?!?!I HATE the new itunes on the ipad. It went from easy to use to a major ordeal. I don't have a clue how to find let alone listen to my podcasts. I go to more then press podcasts then nothing happens or screne goes black. finally i typed podcast in search bar and got it so I just leave it open. I don't know how to play back to back podcasts.

I just installed OS10.5.8 and now I can't access my network drive
I could access it directly by going to the network window, then clicking on READYSHARE, which is the Netgear network drive with a direct USB connection, when I was running 10.4.11, but now that I have upgraded to 10.5.8, it does not show the network drive at all, when I open the network window in the finder.
that drive is not listed under USB, but I would not think it would be, since it is connected by USB to the router, not the computer. The router is connected via Ethernet. So I would think I need to find the drive in the system profiler under Network, then maybe Volumes? I am a bit lost trying to find the drive and connect to it...

Just installed WIN 7 on SSD. How can I get original Bookmarks into New Configuration?
After 1 year with Win 7 on my desktop I have purchased an SSD. I have reinstalled WIN 7 but cannot retrieve favourites from my old firefox (HDD still available). Is it possible to retrieve the favourites or is it possible to export favourites from my laptop to my desktop?
Firefox 3 and later no longer use bookmarks.html to store the bookmarks.<br />
You can restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON back in the bookmarkbackups folder or copy places.sqlite to the current Firefox profile. Both methods will replace the current bookmarks with the new bookmarks, so I you need to preserve existing bookmarks then export them to an HTML file and import that file afterward.

If the problem persists after you reboot as suggested by Ralph:
Trouble connecting usually means interference, or another WiFi on the same channel.
If you have any cordless phones, keyboards, or cameras, check what frequency they use.
From a MAC or Windows machine you can see what channel each of the available networks are using. Make sure your network is on a channel nobody else nearby is also using. -
