It's very simple. If you want to use iPhoto, just let it manage things as it does. Other than that: Export from iPhoto and delete the image from iPhoto. That will remove the master and all versions.
If space is an issue... use an external disk.
Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things, deleting them or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.

Apple told developers they were removing that service over two years ago. The developers that depended upon it should have done something about it.
Why did they remove it? My guess is because it was pretty crappy, was difficult to maintain, and wasn't a good solution for multiple devices that could get the info without tethering to a "base" Mac.

I ordered an iPhone 6 on September 28th. I talked to someone using live chat as I completed the order and the person told me I could receive a $200 gift card for trading my old iPhone 4. I am currently using a prepaid phone since I had just gotten out of my parents' family plan. The person who helped me to complete my order told me that I could simply take the phone to the store and I had up to 15 days after receiving the iPhone 6 to take the iPhone 4 to the store and receive the gift card, that was the reason why I ordered the new phone. I knew about the online trade-in program, but I simply do not trust USPS when mailing phones, and reading the recent forum posts about damaged devices, I'm glad I didn't.
Yesterday I took the iPhone 4 to the store and they told me they could not give me more than $46 because the promotion date had passed. I told them I ordered before sept. 30 and what the person from live chat told me and they said they couldn't give me any more money and I could simply go and find someone else who would give me more. What kind of service is that?! The phone is like new. I'm always careful with my electronics, I used otter box and lifeproof cases, the phone does show signs of wear but it's in great condition, it has no cracks, the buttons work perfectly, everything is fine. If the person on live chat had told me that I needed to sign up online I would have done it, but after asking her several times she said taking it to the store would be enough and faster.
I still haven't received the iPhone 6 and it's supposed to ship on Friday, however, if this does not get solved and I don't get the $200, I will simply cancel my order or return the phone as soon as possible. I refuse to be in a 2 year contract with a company that does not even train its employees enough to let them know they shouldn't give false information, especially if it'll cost their clients $200.
I tried talking to someone from customer service but they keep transferring me, live chat is worse cause the people there say they can't even give me any information regarding my order. I've called the trade-in customer service and it's worse, they keep me in line for over 40 minutes or they ignore my call completely. I haven't been able to talk to anyone and I need answers.

You only complied with half of the requirements for the trade-in promotion. You did order your iphone6 before 10/15, but you did not complete the online appraisal before 10/15, when the tradein promotion ended.
Stores seem to only be accepting the trade-ins when you purchase your phone from them.

Elements product key not vaild. Even though its what is stated on my Adobe account. What do i need to do to get the product key to work.. I'm at a loss..

however - when I then go to the website to download the Pdf document I need I get a screen with the big red adobe icon that says to complete and down load this document I must launch adobe reader a dn sign the terms of agreement , close browser and reopen.
but thatscren has no choice buttons whatsoever, I cannot find anywhere a adobe reader image to launch - been into launch pad , preferences etc.
so now the loop is the pdf document and the adobe screen saying I must do terms of agreement
like is this Kafka like or what ...

Please help! I am trying to upgrade an old itunes to 10.7 version. I am getting a message "This app has failed to start because ASL.dll was not found. What do I need to do to get the new version to operate on my vista 32 bit operating system?

I am have problems upgrading my old itunes system to the 10.7 version. I have downloaded w10.7 to my desk top. However, when I try to install it, it seems to be installing for a while, then I get a message box that says: "The system administrator has set plicies to provent this installation".... I can't tell you how much I appreciate your taking the time to help me with this problem. I'm doing a healing technician training class at my church, and have most of my study material on my ipod. It cashed this weekend which hindered my preparation for my class tomorrow night. I went to the local "Apple Store" late last night and they could get me up and running. They suggested that I call the APL CARD line which I did today, but they gave me a nice run around seccession, and did nothing. Then I was lead to "Google" my question, which eventually lead me to the "Apple" site. Praise the LORD for your help and may you be richly blessed with multiplied blessings in all that you put your hands to do. May you receive a great harvest. As far as I'm concerned you were used by the LORD, and are the real genius!!!

Hello Anna,
First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

When I open an email with images, Outlook Express keeps defaulting to Internet Explorer rather than FireFox to get the image, since I have IE disabled this means that I see no image. I have FF set as my default browser. Please can you help?

I first noticed the problem 3 months ago when a virus set a proxy on Internet Explorer. Removal of the proxy brought the image back, but this showed that Outlook Express uses IE to get images even when FF is set as default browser

Just to add in case this is what you were asking. You automatically have warranty coverage for one year from date of purchase or date of shipping. If you are bringing your Mac in for repair to an Apple Store or AASP, they can check to see your warranty coverage from the serial #. It shouldn't be necessary to bring your receipt, but it probably wouldn't hurt to have it with you, just in case.

Not sure what is going on here. I pre-ordered an album. One of the songs was available for instant download so I have that in my library now. I received an email saying that the rest of the album is available for download. When I go into my purchased songs as instructed, it only shows 2 other songs from that album. Not sure what I need to do.

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If the new library can be created and open without a problem make a temporary, backup copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Id use the browser access only but as it wont accept html files I need the ftp access as well

Here's what I'd do, go back to the Apple store, take the phone & computer. Ask the geniuses how to fix this since they replaced the phone. You never know, they may just update the computer for free...its happened before...can't gurantee it will happen for you, but worth a try.
Otherwise, you're looking at purchasing a retail copy of Leopard, however if her computer can handle Snow Leopard you can purchase the $29 upgrade disk & install a full copy of SL.
