I've logged on too many times in the past few minutes?
i keep trying to log onto ichat av 3.1.5, and sometimes it tells me that i have lost the connection (while i still have a strong internet connection), while other times it logs on, but no buddies show up available, when i know that they are online.
after quitting ichat and reopening the program a few times, i get this message: You have attempted to login too often in a short period of time. Wait a few minutes before trying to login again.
and a few minutes actually means like 2 hours. what should i do?
Hi
Try this log on to AIM on port 443 rather than port 5190
Go to IChat > Preferences > Accounts.
Log out of AIM and then use the Server Settings tab
Set the port to 443.
Log back in again.
Tony

IChat keeps telling me I've tried logging on too many times...
Ok... so here's the story:
I'm visiting my sister, and she has netgear... I tried logging on to iChat, and it went berserk, logging on and off several times in a row. And then a message popped up the next time I logged on saying: "You have attempted to login too often in a short period of time. Wait a few minutes before trying to login again." So... I searched on this website to see what to do about this, and I found that I need to change the port to 443... so I did it... but it won't even let me attempt to log in anymore, and the same error message keeps popping up.
Is there a way I can reset this so it doesn't keep telling me I've tried to log on too many times? I've tried restarting, and that's just not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated... I'm gonna try turning the computer off and removing and replacing the battery to see if that words...

I have an iphone3 and tried to log in too many times. Now I am locked out. When I press my home button, I get the emergency call screen and not my home screen.
What do I do?Restore the phone using iTunes.

Ichat pop up, you have attempted to log in too many times...
i just got my macbook and ichat worked great for one day.. now it's saying i attempted to log in to many times.. i have tried to change the port to 443, but it didn't work. i couldn't find an "apply" button so i just left it. did i forget something? if i didn't forget anything please tell me how i can fix it...
Hi,
It is difficult to say if this is your end or the AIM servers.
Historically AIM have updated their Buddy list info by deleting those screen names they believe to be out of use and releasing them for use again.
This has always happened in Early December at about 4 other times a year.
We also have the Leopard release and the interest that has sparked in iChat.
Google have added the AIM protocols to GoogleTalk as well.
If it does not resolve in a day at the most delete com.apple.iChat.AIM.plist from your Home Folder/Library/Preferences and restart iChat.
You may need to reset the port to 443 but otherwise it will use the default info for Logging on.

Pages on my iPad3 has become very slow to open documents after upgrading to ios7.
I posted on here about this a few weeks back and someone suggested force-closing Pages -- and that does indeed enable me to open things -- but I have had to force-close many times in the last 24 hours, which is worrying. Are there any other suggestions?
I am sometimes also finding that, when I have been writing something and then click on "documents" the screen goes blank, there is a wait of around a minute and then the same document is re-displayed, before clicking "documents" again lets me look at other documents -- which is a pain if I am trying to move between documents repeatedly. Again, words of wisdom on this would be great.
Pages under iOS6 opened quickly, and there was an immediate loss of performance when I upgraded. I am finding this very frustrating because I don't feel that the new Pages has added to the facilities I was using, but a slowness to open documents is frustrating.
Thanks

Ichat keeps shutting repeatedly telling me i logged in too many times...
i read all the troubleshooting in this forum about fixing this with the account settings and getting to SSL 443 or whatever, and that is still not working...
i dont know what to do, ive been using ichat since i got this computer in january and this is the first time i have ever had this happen to me...
please help!I'm not sure if this helps, but if you're using AOL IM (AIM), you'll get an error similar to what you're describing if you've logged in and out several times within a brief period (10-minutes or so, I don't know exactly).
It's happened to me when opening and closing iChat repeatedly over a short period of time. Try just sitting back for a little bit, waiting and then see if you're able to login.
What IM service are you actually using with iChat? (AIM, Google Talk, etc.) -
Hi
My daughter forgot her password after mispla cing her ipod for 3 weeks. I tried to restore after it went into disabled mode. I get an error 3194.
Some help would be appreciated.Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com
Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. FollowiTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service. -
I tried all eight solutions in your menu, none of which worked. Of course, none seems to apply to Mavericks.
Well, have you actually installed it properly? Fixed the permissions on the Library folder? Your info is at best vague and you need to clarify what you have actually done so far.

What is the location bar? Screen shot not a Mac screen shot. Tried "open location" and nothing happens.
Just updated to 10.6.7 on Mac. First time I tried to do this screen, Firefox crashed.
How do I keep this stupid thing up for more than 2 minutes?I would reformat the drive then reinstall Lion:
Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer. -
I have had the same account for over 4 years. I have had my ipod touch for 2 years and have always been able to access the itunes store and download content from my pc and my ipod touch. A few months ago, I started to receive the message that I've entered the wrong password but I know that it is correct. I can download all I want from my pc without any problems at all. How do I get my device to accept my itunes password so that I can get back to downloading content directly to my device?
I'm having the same issue. Just hooked up a Mac Mini and running the internet just fine over wifi, but Facetime isn't working. I'm going to try resetting my router in the morning.

My question once again is, what happened to my purchased product, Photoshop Elements 12, when the Editor part of it failed, and I'm now weeks trying to have it resolved. On July 7th, I wrote a personal letter to the CEO at Adobe Systems (, Shantanu Narayen), 345 Park Avenue< San Jose,California, CA 95110-2704, and I await his response.
Well, Peter, this is the first post you've made here, so something must have gone wrong before.
Just FYI, this is not Adobe. It's a user to user forum and we are just other customers like you.
But iff you'd like to explain in more detail just what the problem is, someone here may be able to help you.
