I've lost Dashboard, how do I find it?

Somehow I lost Dashboard. It's not on the Dock, not in my apps folder (or at least I can't find it), and F12 doesn't bring it up. I tried reinstalling my bundled software but it didn't come back. Any idea?

You can use Pacifist to extract and install just that application from your install disks.
Or, you may be able to repair this with the 10.4.5 Stand Alone Combo Update.
This is a more robust install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before. It has worked well for many. Remember to repair permissions before and after update.

If you enabled the "Find My iPhone" feature prior to the device being lost, go to iCloud.com, sign in and select the locate option.
If you did not enable the feature prior to the device being lost then you are basically out of luck.

You have to have enabled Find My iPhone on your phone before it was lost in order for it to be located. If you did, you could play a loud two minute sound on it even if it was on slient, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f19b5.

Well, I have a feeling that your file is gone - usually when you see a ? in place of a file or folder that means that the system cannot find it. So, unless you had it backed up, I know of no way to recover it except some (sometimes expensive and not necessarily successful) data recovery companies/software.
Unfortunately, if the SMART status indicates a failing drive, it needs to be replaced. If possible, make a backup of anything you do have before taking it in. Is this Mac still covered by warranty? If not, you can take it to an AASP or try to do it yourself, but that is not for the faint of heart.

Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 if needed.
NOTE: was it the computer that froze or just iPhoto? If it was just iPhoto you can use the  ➙ Force Quit menu option to quite out of iPhoto without having to power down.

If your phone is off, there is no way to locate it other than physically looking for it. It cannot be remotely turned on. Even if it were on, you would have had to have Find My Phone setup/activated/turned on BEFORE you lost your phone to have any hope of finding it.
