I've lost my AirPort icon in network settings - can't get wifi - how do I get it back..??
So I'm pretty green whe it comes to computers but trying to work through this....
My Macbook Pro's wi fi dropped out - I tried to re-activate it and inadvertedly removed the airport icon from my network connections options..
I'm assuming it's a fairly simple fix but I do not have the know-how.... Can anyone please help me work through this, it would be much appreciated..!!!

I have the same problem with airport.
On 'Network' page when I try to add an interface AirPort is not an option.
I only can choose from firewire, ethernet, bluetooth DUN, VPN, PPPoE or 6 to 4....
How did you fix it?

This assumes what you purchased is still available in the Store.
Open iTunes and click on iTunes Store on the left
On the right you will see this
Sign in with your Apple ID, then click on "Purchased" (with the orange blob)
On the summary page that appears select the tab "Not on This Computer" on the right.
On the list that appears, select what you want and then click the "Download" button. -

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

was writing on my iphone 4s notes while did cut and paste and suddently lost the whole text (which was not selected). there is no ctrZ type function on iphone so i tried paste thinking that it copied the whole text nothing then i went to icloud on the phone and the notes function was not selected to be backed up i arrived home today and connected my phone to my computer and open my itunes and nothing.
any suggestion?? help!!

No airport icon in network settings
Hi there,
I've read hundreds of threads about the airport problems on the macbook pro, as i got the "no airport installed" notification when clicking on the icon.
I have a Macbook Pro 13inch and reinstalled it and now my airport icon on the desktop is all gone and i can't find it either in network settings.:S
If i look at my hardware setup it shows the airport card.
Does anyone have a clue how to fix this without opening the macbook all the way?

BramThe Airport icon is in the menu and not on the desktop. System>Preferences>Network. Check the box, "Show Airport status..."

I had to reload Firefox, but now myI lost my Bookmarks in the process. Can I get them back?
My version of Firefox was mafunctioning so I uninstalled it and loaded the latest version. Didn't realize that all of my Bookmarks would get wiped out and I never thought to back them up beforehand. Not so smart. It will take hours to replace all of them. Wondering if there is an easy way to get them back, such as doing a system restore on my PC to gain access to my old Firefox version and then backing them up before uninstalling it once again. I have Windows 7 with 64-bit if that makes any difference. Any advice for a novice appreciated.
Did you remove personal data when you uninstalled Firefox?
If you did there your bookmarks and other personal data in all profiles folders was removed and is lost.

i was on windows 7 and i had to format my computer i put windows vista on and when i downloaded itunes and sync my iphone i lost all my photos music and apps that was on my phone,my itunes account says i have got to accounts on two computers?? is there anyway i can get anything back? please help me. i have tried restore to back up but it is the same????
If they really meant that much to you, they would have been copied off to a computer at the earliest possible opportunity.
I personally find it amazing that people get so upset when pictures "accidentally" get deleted and then scream about how important they are. You wouldn't leave important paper work lying around to be lost/damaged/stolen, so why take a chance with important pictures on a device that can so easily be lost/damaged/stolen, or deleted by a child. -

The only ways to get them back are to sync with your iCloud account, if you have one set up with your contact and messages being backed up there, or to sync with your computer that you use to backup your iPhone data and apps.

I have 2 terabyte Time capsule, last gen, not newest. I have a similar airport extreme to extend my network. I was running Lion. I upgraded to Maverick to see if it would fix this problem, and it did not. When using airport utility, latest version, it says that the extreme has an excellent connection, but fails to extend the network. This started the last time I upgraded Lion. I have tried rebooting, renaming the extreme to no avail. I moved it to the same room as the time capsule, no luck.

You may want to try performing a factory reset on the AirPort Extreme.
If you have configured your Wi-Fi base stations in the past, it may be helpful to do a factory default reset of each Wi-Fi base station that will be part of the wireless extended network before you begin.

Is all your music in iTunes on your computer? If so with your device plugged in make sure the sync music box is checked.

It replaced everything with old phots, ringtones, sounds, and his homepage for safari is different.
Reset the phone in settings and when the set up gives you the option to back up from iTunes or iCloud. It's possible to get most of the lost information back if you back up from iCloud after resetting the phone.

I really need this fixed its driving me crazy. I wish iTunes had a way of taking all the songs from the iPod and just downloading them to the itunes without having to delete all that is on there. I really want my Purchesed Items back. I wasted probably over 100$ on this....

Is there a reason why you did not create a backup of your media and other important files before switching from Vista?
It is the users responsibility to back up their media, it is NOT Apple's responsibility.
When you purchase CD's or DVD's, if you lose them, you repurchase them. Same deal with digital media.
If you have a backup of your media, simply copy the files from the backup to your computer.
If you still have access to your old computer, simply copy the files from it to your new computer. -
