Now I've gone and lost my ipod somewhere i have the serial number but i cant use icloud because i have win. XP with service pack 3 plz some one help soon

iCloud
Sign in and click on FIndMyiPhone. Yu do not need and iCloud compatible computer tfor that.
The SN will only help identify the i{Pod if it irecovered.
Apple will not help
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
Report to police and change the passwards for all accounts used on the iPod.

You can do better than that. You can click on the Restore button that appears under your device in iTunes. This will restore your iPod to factory settings as if it were fresh out of the box. But don't worry. By doing a restore, you will then be given the option to "Restore from Backup." This will allow you to restore the state of your previous iPod!!

There is little chance of recovering your iPod. The police will do little. It it is turned then they can contact you.

You cannot use it. You would have had to set it up on your ipod itself before you lost it. Since you did not "turn on the icloud", then you have not set up find my ipod.

I lost my ipod about a year ago. I just recently found it and have learned that the songs that I downloaded from my computer to the old ipod are no longer in itunes. I cannot download the songs off my old ipod to my computer to load on new ipod.

Today I lost my iPod Touch (5th Gen) at school, I have an idea of who has it but I cannot ask until Monday and plus, the person isn't the most trustworthy person. Anyway, it has iOS 7 installed, I was using earlier today, I have tried using iCloud to locate it but all I got was "All Devices Offline". Any help whatsoever to find it would be AMAZING! If I can get it to make a loud sound in case I misplaced it, or how to leave a message? If I require an iPhone I can use my mum's iPhone 4.
