I've made a successful dvdproject. But now I can't reopen the project because it can't find a few photo files. Aren't they already in the project? The dvd plays fine.

I thought those were already in the project, as cutaways. (No slideshow)
Also, in "Share" I exported to Desktop. That gave me problems. I don't see "package contents" anywhere.
I got the .m4v file into iTunes, and got that into iDVD. But now I can't reopen, because of the photos.
I need a step-by-step "Share" routine to go by.

I thought the video and cutaways, inserts, etc. were incorporated during "Share".
And not even during the iDVD processing?
I know you're supposed to find a "view package contents" when you right-click on.... something.
Then you do that, and the .m4v file is in there.
I know somewhere there's a "Share" tutorial. I don't have a good grasp of the whole "file structure".
So I might wind up making copies of these iDVDs.
Will they be the same good quality?

You and your husband can share a store account and still have seperate iCloud accounts for your contacts, bookmarks and stuff like that. Click here for instructions to make an apple account without entering a credit card. Make sure you use a different email address for each apple account.
Set up your iPhone/iPad whatever using the new account for iCloud. Then go into settings/store and sign in with your purchasing account, you may need to sign out of the other account. To the best of my knowledge, your household is allowed to share purchased legally, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Once you each have your own devices set to your own accounts you can set them to backup to that account and it will keep all your contacts seperate.

I am a newbie at this and don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I can even use an external drive for my photos and catalogs (I did enable smart previews so I do know how to do that part). Help!

You can use an external drive with LR but I recommend only using it for
image file storage while keeping your catalog on your internal HD for
performance. If you moved files outside of LR (Finder or Explorer) you will
have to clue LR in on where they are now. Use the left-hand folder panel in
Library mode to navigate to the location on your external drive and use the
find photo option get LR to reconnect them. If you moved the catalog and
now LR can't find it you should get a window allowing you to select a new
one where you can navigate to the new location and select it. You can also
just start LR by clicking on the Lightroom 5 catalog.lrcat file to open it
and start LR.

If you rented and downloaded it on your iPad then it should be in the Videos app - if it doesn't show in there then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding it ?

I did this by going into the folder where the Amazon MP3's were and copied the link into iTunes under the add file link in the menu. This music was purchased before I had an iTunes account so I wasn't aware that they could've been automatically exported. I still have the iTunes MP3s on my iPhone. Photos taken by the iPhone, like any digital camera, should have been uploaded to your computer for safe keeping. Certainly before a major operation like a software update that wipes your phone in the process of updating. If they weren't, and they are not currently on your phone, then they're gone. You can try restoring from a recent backup, but any photos taken between the last backup and the present time will be gone.

I purchased 3 songs on itunes today, i watched them download, and i watched it take my money, but now i can't find them amoungst the "purchases". So basically it looks like itunes stole my money?

why is itunes not recognizing that i just bought these songs? I watched them as they downloaded, but now there's no trace of them anywhere so i can't put them on my ipod. nevermind guys, i figured out what to do. for anybody else with this issue, try going to "store" (in the top bar on itunes), then "view my account", and then it should tell you if you have any items availible for download. then you can download them there, and get the things you paid for. This was a really annoying issue though, because it made it look like itunes had stolen my money, and almost tricked me into wasting my money trying to re-purchase the songs. itunes should look in to this.
